  1. The only thing I know about Mitch was that Margaret Lang said at a supporters meeting that Ross county had recommended him. The same Ross county that wouldve been one of our main challengers that season if we'd been any good.
  2. Possibly part of his problem to be honest. Bags of ability but doesn't have that confidence and swagger players of his ilk really need unfortunately.
  3. On the back of the manager saying that's how he wants to spend the money. If Rennie had said I'd rather spend it on two players the bod aren't going to say no.
  4. Talk of us having a first team squad of 18 so can't see many being available for a b team.
  5. How are fingers being pointed. It's not the fault of either of those 3 groups its the fault of the bloody manager.
  6. So less than 30k . We'd need what 15 players minimum at least. A mixture of your 3 under 18s and some experience. I presume they are all expected to play for nothing? First team squad will be tight this season so can't see many of them being involved. Coaches I presume would want expenses at least but wouldnt have salaries. All seems quite cheap if we can get a proper b team together for that kind of money. Plus the it's a recurring cost not just a one off like Griffiths and that money was given to the club on the condition it would be spent on signing a first team player.
  7. Everything you'd expect a manager to say if he's still doing a job for Airdrie. If Hibs were in for him do you really think he'd hang about?
  8. The bfl handed over money to be used in the transfer window to sign a player. The manager signed the wrong player. Said manager is now moving on. The money was wasted in this case but by the manager if you ask me not the bod. If the money hadn't been used I'm sure someone would've got it tight for that. I said myself I think the cash would've been better spent on a centreback or midfielder but it's the manager who decides what he does with his budget at the end of the day. The goodwillie case is different. As I said who knows the full extent of that. I'm sure the guys on the bod will have learned from that one.
  9. The goodwillie issue is one thing. Who knows the full extent of that but it needs to be the manager who decides on how his budget is spent in 99 percent of cases. If Rennie says to the bod the money that has been ringfenced for a striker I want to use to sign Lee Griffith's then the board surely have to back the manager or we'll struggle to get any manager in if the bod are having the final say on each and every player we sign.
  10. That's surely comes under appointing Rennie. He would've put those two signings to the bod I very much doubt that the bod said we must try and sign either. The bairn for life money was ringfenced for a player the manager signed the wrong player.
  11. Exactly other than we haven't got an under 20s team we've heard hee haw else.
  12. Yes and let's not forget that not all of them have been on the bod for that long. We still had Bateman and white hanging about until not that long ago.
  13. You'll struggle to find anyone on here that thinks that closing the academy wasnt a dreadful idea and that doesn't want a proper academy back at the club but it has to be done at the right time. Spending money on a b team won't sell season tickets I'm afraid and short termism as it may be we can't really look any further ahead than putting everything into getting out of this league. There's also no point in putting under 18s into a first team full of absolute shitebags like our first 11. They need an environment where they can play alongside players they can look up to and rely upon. It's not exactly a surprise to some of us to find out that decisions are changing on various things considering the fact that the bod are uncovering new issues at the club by the day. If we can't afford a b team just now then unfortunately we just need to wait till we can afford it it's as simple as that. If the previous incumbents hadn't signed a pile of dross and pissed the clubs cash reserves down the drain on all sorts of stuff we probably could've afforded a b team.
  14. Involved could mean anything from filled the bench to starting though? We haven't lost to Montrose 3 1 all season either by the way and we've had one or two youngsters on our bench for the majority of the season.
  15. Same qots that have Josh Todd and Alex cooper starting every week.
  16. He didn't take long at Airdrie. They were 3rd in his first full season then second last season and beaten in the playoff final and now second again. Some folk seem to think Airdrie were nowhere the last two seasons and have suddenly become decent over night.
  17. We're currently in division 3 of youth development basically. The top teams play at the elite level then there's the level we were at before and then there is us at the moment. If these boys are that good surely it should be left to the new manager to decide whether he promotes then into his first team squad or not. Problem is with some dross hanging about there isn't a lot of space left to gamble on youngsters unfortunately.
  18. It was only a few weeks ago they held an open meeting in the south stand for anyone to attend where any question could be asked. I'm sure once the season is out the way more meetings will be organised.
  19. Whilst LG was undoubtedly the wrong player was that not what the bairn for life money was ringfenced for new players? It wasn't set up to fund any other areas of the business and I'd think those contributing wouldn't be too happy if it was used for something else. Wrong player was signed but the money wasnt going anywhere else. We're not shutting down youth teams anyway so that's nonsense unless you mean the under 11s which was a ridiculous idea in the first place.
  20. Exactly. He's getting paid to the end of the season may as well make him work for it. I await the gnashing of teeth from miller and the press when he misses out though.
  21. Might be the case that noone is leaving for reasons other than its time to move on who knows. Let's see who the new manager is and then take it from there. It's make or break time for not just the bod but the club as a whole I suspect . They need to get it right but let's give them the chance to get it right before we write them off entirely .
  22. Could well be and if that's the case then his announcement would probably come once either our season is over if he's unattached or once his clubs season has finished which could be a few weeks yet depending on playoff involvement etc.
  23. He might well be but then so did Gregor Buchanan when he left us. Telfer turns up one game in a blue moon he'll end up at back at Morton or maybe dick Campbell will turn him into iniesta.
  24. Surely it's the CEO that deals with the employees of the club on a day to day basis not the bod. I'm really not sure what a member of the bod would do to piss off day an individual working in hospitality. At the moment anyone leaving is simply getting blamed on the bod with absolutely no reasoning to back it up. Again has anyone asked these people why they are leaving? Might be bugger all to do with Swinney or the board or it could be either who knows but someone must know why this lady left . Christ the Sam mcgivern issue was blamed on the board when it was simply just the wrong appointment for both parties.
  25. The last time we had issues of people leaving it was the CEO that was the main culprit. Is Swinney perhaps the problem here more than the bod. He was obviously appointed by deans crew which is concerning to start with.
