  1. It's all part of the John Gall/Darvel get-it-right-up-the-Talbot mindset. In which case one says GIRU them Talbot! Quick first goals puts us back in it. Mon the Talbot!
  2. Anoraks are nothing to do with it. It's basic, sporting common sense that dictates that any team finishing top of their league and that league is part of a pyramid should expect to gain promotion to the next rung of that pyramid. Not sure what isn't making sense in that.
  3. Haha aye...although he's right about the SoS clubs stinking the place out. And...we're back!
  4. You keep saying that. It would be fair to say that won't be the case if you're one of the 42 clubs, especially Stranraer/Bonnyrigg/Clyde at the moment.
  5. The system is a bottleneck, the reality has been different for the reasons you have listed. Any pyramid where licensed champions don't automatically get promotion is flawed. The play offs which exist to get into the LL and to get into Scottish League Two are an embarrassment. Add to that the fact that Club 42 don't go straight through the trapdoor and its a minter for the "Scottish Football Pyramid"
  6. Recognise Chris Tarrant but Sally James is looking hellish.
  7. The fact that there are three clubs (potentially) taking part in a play off for one promotion spot is the very definition of bottleneck.
  8. Kirkintilloch Rob Roy 1 v 1 Cumnock Juniors Troon 0 v 1 Glenafton Athletic Whitletts Victoria 3 v 2 Shotts Bon Accord Glasgow Perthshire 2 v 4 Kilsyth Rangers Bellshill Athletic 2 v 2 Threave Rovers Glenvale 5 v 1 Saltcoats Victoria ETA- A definite last roll of the dice feel about this week.
  9. Oh, so did I. Anyway, Beith look like winning the Premier Division. They should do well in the play-off.
  10. He's right mate. You can't talk about professional embarrassment then advocate finishing 2nd in your league yet going up just because you have the right boxes ticked or more resources than the club who finishes ahead of you. I, for one am against this notion of promoting the highest placed licensed club! Or as it should more commonly be known, the "Make sure Clydebank get up even though they're not good enough" rule
  11. Aye it was a bad one. The midges had a better game than the spaghetti-armed Thorniewood keeper as well. Are you in the video Sarge? I looked for someone with a can of diet coke to no avail.
  12. There's nothing fortunate or free hit like about winning your league and getting promoted. You almost sound like you're happy with a play off.
  13. As is his public profile and popularity which I really don't get as he's not funny and is actually a bit creepy.
  14. the only thing I'd say is you need to be careful with third party booking sites, especially in peak season. Companies will give priority to people booking directly through their website to the point where if they have no cars you will have to wait until there are. Also, worth checking Arnold Clark rental (I know). Their prices fluctuate but can sometimes be good in comparison even to agents. Only thing is that they have a surcharge if it's out of hours.
  15. Even the big Scottish? That's what I was referring to. I thought they were still replayed but if I'm mistaken, sorry.
  16. Yep. The SJC is a great old tournament but you're right, it shouldn't get in the way of the business end of the league season like it has. It's unfair on everyone in the league, regardless of whether they opt in to the SJC or not. It really is an anomaly which needs sorted.
  17. Replays are normally midweek affairs where possible IIRC. Having cup weekends in the schedule makes sense so not sure where you're getting the idea that league should always take priority..
  18. Nice to see Michael Portillo taking in the game. Was he filming?
  19. One knew exactly what one was doing. Four WoSFL teams involved in the premier cup competition available to WoSFL clubs. Thanks for the blessing though
