  1. Alex Rowley. Zzzzzzzzzzz Must be the most boring speaker ever. Some points where made but I just couldn't care what they were when he started droning on. The vote for #ScotRef will go through, May will try and delay and I can't see an agreement being made as to the timeframe. So what options are left? I can't see a consultative referendum going ahead as this will eat up time wouldn't be legally binding. Does NS have the willingness to claim UDI? Can't see this happening either, unless there is definite support from the EU. Anyway, genuine question - how does everyone else see this situation panning out?
  2. Just catching up, so may have been answered. Have bolded the relevant points above. May stood for election to be the leader of the conservative party, if I remember there was no final vote on this as Leadsom pulled out of the race. Effectively gifting May the PM position as the conservatives held the majority in the HoC. Sturgeon as with all FMs had to win the vote in Holyrood to be put forward as their nominee for the position. Willie Rennie stood against her in this election. The monarch then appoints the FM. Technically she was elected to this position as there was a vote carried out. Where does this figure come from? Virtually everyone agrees that this figure cannot be verified. Language is like statistics, in so much that any viewpoint can be twisted to fit you point of view.
  3. Not only that, but imagine quoting Ruth with "stick to the day job".
  4. Why would calling #scotref before Brexit is concluded and after we would know the probable outcome be amateur? NS would be in a far better negotiating position with WM during this time. Whereas WM would be weakened with their negotiating position in regards to both us and the EU. This is the exact scenario that May doesn't want to be in. That for all, should be clear to see.
  5. If the tory election fraud is proved to have influenced the vote in any seat, then a paltry fine is not enough. This fine makes a mockery of the whole process of government. IMO, these seats should be put forward for by-elections. The sitting MP suspended from the HoC until the by-election and depending on how complicit the MPs were, then from standing again in that and any other seat.
  6. I thought the FM had to be elected by the members of Holyrood. Didn't wee Wullie Rennie stand against her?
  7. This must be the most MEH QT ever. Not a fan of Tasmina, but her asking DD if she'll be allowed to actually answer a question is a right GIRFUY.
  8. Sickened that in this day and age, this is allowed to happen. Hope you fight this and win, an email to your local MP may help.
  9. So where do run of the mill working / middle class voters belong? Are you seriously suggesting that Labour turns its back on the vast majority of it's socially inclusive minded voter base...This is working well just now isn't it. Thank god I live in a constituency that is a straight SNP / Tory fight, as I'd never vote for this Labour party.
  10. If he is deselected, I could see the moderate labour members with the help of the PLP come together and force a change. I'd imagine a lot of grass root members are tired of the number of loonies in Momentum. And lets be realistic here, with the current regime in charge there is not going to be a Labour government in the foreseeable.
  11. Hilary Benn ? I think a large proportion of the PLP and grass root members would be supportive if he was the leader. Never know, there could be trouble ahead for Corbyn if he (Benn) is deselected from his Leeds seat.
  12. Peter Coates is the only one speaking sense tonight. Straight talking without the need to put any political spin on his reasoning.
  13. Not even related. I'm sure you understand the difference between national service (Israel is not alone in this) and recruiting and training children to carry out terrorist attacks.
  14. What is your point? AFAIK the sovereign debate was regarding the royal prerogative was it not? Now that the SC has decided that Brexit (A50) cannot be triggered unless through parliament, then that negates that particular argument does it not?
  15. Naw, cause he's an all inclusive type of guy...as long as you went to the right school of course.
  16. Wasn't Henry XIII a Bavarian Duke? Henry VIII on the other hand was 100% English
  17. New found admiration for Ken Clark. Even though he is a conservative. Admit it's getting boring seeing the same discussions though.
  18. This has to be the poorest panel ever. If this audience is what "middle England" looks like, then god help us come the next general election.
  19. A couple of simple questions as I'm a bit thick. If Tedi is correct and the 'Ashley henchmen' have signed and/or arranged contracts to benefit Ashley when they were on the board, then couldn't the current directors take legal action as this would not have been in the best interest of the shareholders? The fact that the current board would now have all this information / documents and have not called this deal into question (other than try and renegotiate) would this suggest that this is legal and above board? Confused, so some clarification would be helpful.
  20. Scariest ive ever been when getting on a flight was in Kiev, the locals where knocking back the voddie in big style. Since they obviouslty knew i was a new to russian air travel they asked me to join them at a very reasonable price of a litre of voddie (70 pence if i remember correctly). I asked why they were obviously getting hammered. the reply was that they never knew if the plane would actually land on the runway. Will never fly Siberian airways again. Saying this was the scariest flight is actually understating what I've witnessed before. I've actually been walking up to the plane on the runway and have seen the ground crew kicking the tires saying that they'll do another landing (Africa) In all honestly my take on this is that the Mayalsian military have already said they tracked a flight turning 90 degrees off course, I fully expect that due to a suspected hijack they may have actually shot this flight down and are now trying to cover up.
  21. Not sure why Bennett would find this funny, this is a real possibility. Does anyone think that the fans would see the club play anywhere other than Ibrox? I mean it's not like there will be people queuing up for another share issue and I doubt the current investors really want their investment diluted.
