  1. I agree, but it shouldn't be classed as the biggest shock in the cups history, Most surprising is probably more appropriate
  2. Technically the biggest shock in scottish cup history is Drumchapel beating Edinburgh City 62 league places separated them, Aberdeen and Darvel was only 56
  3. I was so gutted when we drew them at home in the Scottish
  4. To be fair West Park had 2 shots on goal (tbf scored both) but were poor apart from that, I don't think they caused a major threat outside of rovers switching off, you could tell from a mile away for most of the game that even now one team was 4 divisions above the other, even with rovers playing a second string team I wish them all the best as 8 of the 10 fans they brought through seemed OK. 2 were really annoyed about the keeper getting shouted at which was funnier that the slaggings the keeper got, However as I said fair play to WPU for the effort, happily applauded them off the park at the end (bar the keeper) the bald striker (didn't see his name or number) was their best player. But had it not been for the woodwork, a couple good saves and the rovers defence playing suicide football rovers would have won 7/8 -0
  5. Albion Rovers 3-2 West Park United Got away with one there, on a day we hit the woodwork 3 times, and could have won 7-0 we switched off after being 2-0 up and allowed west park to draw level in the 90th minute only to grab a winner in stoppage time. Big positives were the West Park keeper giving it big licks and getting it right up the rovers fans after equalising. Less than a minute later he recieved a barage of abuse back when rovers scored

  7. I enjoyed coming through for the game tonight guys as has been mentioned it was competative and worth the watch Just to note on big Bright (number 12), hes only 17, he has alot to learn but is improving
  8. Rovers won 4-0 another well disciplined result, West Park United in the next round
  9. Good result for Albion Rovers against Tranent, 2-0 in what was a good game to watch with both teams going for it The result will give a few teams in the lowland league some food for thought
  10. I like him Hes not one who is best starting a game, comming on after 45 or even 65 minutes however he seems to cause a problems, after the defence have already set up a shape If he starts hitting the target he will score a few He's not the best player but his physical presence gives him an advantage, could become a cult hero quite quickly, seems like a nice big lad too
  11. Good win for rovers, Gretna made it difficult in the first half even after the red card (ex Rovers player and coatbridge lad Ronan Kearney) 2nd half it really should have been much much more rovers hit the post twice and had a couple chances off target that should have been scored, Gretna lucky to finish with 10 men, the number 2 kicked out at the Rovers player off the ball which the referee and linesman had a discussion about but failed to identify him, also the number 12 walking a tightrope, after being yellow carded Fair play to the Gretna keeper who engaged with the away support with getting banter aimed at him, gave some back and was rightly applauded off the park at the end by rovers fans shaking hands with a few, football needs more of this, and certainly took to being wound up much better than some of the locals as well as the manager. Overall verdict, Gretna were lucky it wasn't 6, 7 or even 8 Great to see so many Rovers fans there

  13. Hope rovers get a win to kick start our campaign, What does everyone think about where we will finish, this full season is a trip into the unknown for us, and others will have seen our new signings more than us Niyah Joseph and keeper Ross Connelly have both stood out, The official podcast guys have us as mid table at worst and one of the Broomhill coaches reckons 8th, Are these realistic
  14. Even in England though where there has been a regional pyramid for years there are no real boundaries, This season the big fight was Bishop Stortford being promoted and being placed in the Conference North Bishop Stortford is right next to London Stansted Airport
  15. As said above we'll see what happens come January in the cold weather, we don't have the biggest support but we have a loyal band of followers Gluttons for punishment
  16. Rovers had a good win v Annan and a decent performance v Raith, Will be a hard game v pars but we are back at the Theatre of Bad Dreams so we will see how we can do against another decent team, not so worried about the result as much as the performance, Last time we played Dunfermline in this cup it was the record for the heaviest defeat I seen rovers suffer, 6-0 at East End Park,
  17. Dom McMahon signed for Albion Rovers, played well yesterday and gave Annan the run around a bit, Annan taking their eye off the ball a bit there
  18. We played really well and managed to control the game, We had 24 shots on goal with the annan goal being totally against the run of play Alex McCaw had a fantastic game and managed to turn the Annan left back inside out so many times he was subbed after just 17 minutes, he proceeded to throw a tantrum and stay out the changing room with the subs at half time, we gave him that many pelters his team mates were laughing and he went and got his tracksuit on and sat in the dugout himself
  19. Berwick has some of the best pubs for an away day, The Barrells is a personal favourite, Cowdenbeath not so much
  20. *allegedly However Stenhousemuir did rip up his contract and he was charged by the SFA, He faces a ban as soon as he signs for another team registered to the SFA
  21. He left the ground at half time playing for Albion Rovers after one of the Stenhousemuir players told him he "should have done it right the first time" referring to his failed suicide attempt He left the ground with the full support of his team mates and the club
  22. Cliftonhill also qualifys for bronze on the ground side of things
  23. As it stands Cumbernauld Colts I believe are the only team in tier 5 who have this license
