  1. I follow you now, thanks. I'll give it a go and see what happens.
  2. Thanks. I've tried to find a generic password online but none so far have worked out for me and unfortunately the boot options menu seems to be password protected too. Is it possible to put an SSD in an external caddy and install windows via my own machine before putting the hard drive in the other laptop? The only other laptop I have here has an m.2 slot and won't be compatible if I do it the way you have suggested.
  3. Does anyone know if it is possible to unlock the BIOS on a laptop if it is password protected and you don't know/can't remember the code you set up? My sister left a job in 2016 and was allowed to take her laptop with her. She used it for a while but it was (is) running Windows 7 and not long after she bought herself a macbook pro. She has 3 young kids who are all home schooling at the moment and they're sharing 1 laptop; I'd hoped to be able to put windows 10 on this machine to give her another option but unfortunately the BIOS is password protected, as is the 'boot from USB option'. I'd try to upgrade from within Windows 7 but she can't remember the password for the either. It's an HP ProBook 645 G1. I've contacted HP but they said the password has been set by a user locally and because of that they can't do anything. Does that seem right? It's a pretty basic machine but it seems a bit daft for it to go in the bin. EDIT: Is it possible to install windows on an external hard drive and then put it in the machine? Would that bypass the BIOS?
  4. I'd really appreciate a DM with any recommendations for a new stable iptv sub or two; after four perfect years with my current sub theyve locked my account and have started asking all their subs for a copy of their photo ID and proof of address for 'security purposes'. No chance.
  5. Thanks all, I went to Glenshee and it was absolutely brilliant. The place was dead and 17 from 22 runs were open.
  6. Thanks for the suggestions. Looking at the forecast for tomorrow now it looks as though it could be too windy but I'll get up and head for Glencoe/Glenshee if they're open.
  7. The recent storms have led to big dumps of snow at all of the major Scottish ski resorts and with a bit of annual leave to use up before the end of this month I was thinking about jumping in the car and heading north for a day or two, although from doing a bit of searching they all a bit hit or miss and it's difficult to tell from the information available and reviews which is the best. I'm probably an intermediate level skiier who just wants to cruise about on longer runs. I'd prefer somewhere pisted and well groomed and I'd rather go on a recommendation from here than from weird youtube vlogger or really out of date written blogs. Does anyone here go regularly or have any suggestions?
  8. I paid £50 for the year for mine and it has all the club channels, although they can be a bit inconsistent throughout the season. I've noticed that they've recently added an 'SPFL Hub' which only is only live at kick off and so far that's been really good, I think the streams might be lifted from one of the betting websites because the graphics are a bit odd.
  9. I didn't even realise that the PS4 had a remote play option until now. Is there any way to run it through a fire stick or a cheap android box? It'd be handy for being able to play it in the bedroom.
  10. I think the Closed Beta has only just finished for 'GeForce Now' so I'm hoping the library might expand a bit now that it's publicly available.
  11. I've used 'GeForce Now' but only because I have a shield and you get some free access to certain games (mainly shite). The only game I own that I play semi-regularly is pro evo and the connection has been completely flawless, I don't notice any difference to playing on my laptop/console. I'd use it more if the games library improved.
  12. If you've got an NVidia shield it's pretty easy to install an emulator and play them on your TV.
  13. I've bought this for the first time in years. Is there a way to make the matchmaking a bit fairer when you play the online seasons? I quite like going shite teams but I keep getting matched with PSG and Barcelona. I've lost my first 5 games and only scored 1 goal.
  14. You could get a 1 month unlimited data sim card and use your phone as a portable hot spot when you need it? You can mask the tethering usage so that the network won't throttle you.
  15. Some popular Kodi addons disappearing too, what are people using as alternatives?
  16. Is there a way that I can cast content from my phone/laptop to an Amazon Fire Stick in the same way that I would cast up to a Chromecast? I've figured out the screen mirroring, but that literally just mirrors whatever is showing on my phone at the time. It's decent enough, but means that all of my phone notifications show up on the TV screen and if I close the video on my phone, it also closes on the fire stick.
  17. What addons/APK's are people using to watch TV and movies now? I'd been mainly using terrarium and morpheus, but neither have been updated in a while and the morpheus dev has decided to chuck it because it's too popular. I've got a debrid account but even with that I find it increasingly difficult to get the content that I used to.
  18. I've been doing Focus T25 for the last 4 weeks, and while it's a bit cheesy, I've lost nearly a stone and got quite a bit leaner too. With it being only 25 minutes a day i've found it easy enough to fit in to my schedule, squeezing it in 5 or 6 days a week.
  19. I only check in on this thread from time to time so I apologise if this has already been mentioned but it might be worth googling "Stress Control" followed by the area that you live in (e.g., 'Stress Control Glasgow') to check out if there are any classes running in your area. It's a 6 session, 90 minute set of free, evidence-based classes that provides some really practical ways of dealing with depression, anxiety, poor sleep, burnout, or loss of confidence/self-esteem. There's no need to be referred, no records of attendance, and because it is a class rather than a group, there is absolutely no self-disclosure. You can dip in and out of classes, can attend in more than one location, and the evidence-base suggests that the classes are equally effective as individual CBT. 20. How much is it? I can't see it in that link.
  21. So did I, this is the first time i've come across this type of fee. From the coinbase FAQ page: "In order to ensure that transactions are processed on digital currency networks, it's best that all outgoing transactions to external digital currency addresses have a mining fee attached to it. This fee is paid to the digital currency miners, who process the transactions and secure the respective network.Coinbase does not pay the network mining fee on behalf of customers for outgoing digital currency transactions. The fee you pay for outgoing transactions is calculated dynamically at the time the transaction is created. This means that the fee may be higher or lower depending on the overall transaction volume currently on the digital currency network. The fees are displayed on the send confirmation screen. Please note that no portion of this fee goes to Coinbase."
  22. That's from Coinbase, could you point me in the direction of something better? I'm still relatively new to using bitcoin.
  23. Is there any way around network fees? I'm trying to send about £10 worth of BTC and the current network fee is £12 on coinbase.
