The other issue is the lack of a goal threat coming off the bench. Our options are limited if Plan A aint working. I think back to the likes of Rogers coming off the bench for Peterhead and usually scoring.
I had thought King was brought in for a goal threat from midfield but it hasn't materialised yet.0 -
If Keatings got his card rescinded surely Slater has a case. I seem to recall that a club's own footage isnt admissable and i dont think it was in the highlights i've seen which is strange.

What on earth did Slater say that warranted a straight red?
Can the club appeal on the grounds that the referee was a dick ?0 -
It was suggested on the radio with the corona virus stuff ongoing that instead of the players shaking hands before games, they perform something like a haka but with a Scottish twist. The slosh was suggested. Now that would be worth the admission money alone.

Pleased to see the extra anti-corona measures for fans at the ground. I noticed there was a bar of soap in the toilets.

I think they just borrowed the tune. I think their ire was aimed in the direction of Falkirk.I think a draw might have been the fair result but Queen's Park might feel aggrieved not to have won the match based on the balance of play. They came at us like a snapping alligator in the opening 10 minutes and should have taken the lead - I couldn't really see an offside in their "goal", and their forward should have done better when he was playing in on goal; credit to Graeme Smith, once again, for the save. Big Buzz was tremendous today. They couldn't maintain their high-octane start and the game settled into a stuffy, occasionally exciting affair. Stenhousemuir should have scored midway through the second half when David Hopkirk (I think) forced Wullie Muir into a double save. CRaig Slater made an arse of himself at the end with his daft red card.
I thought Stenny were alright without ever being great. Jonathan Tiffoney had a frustrating game at right-back and some of his touches and passes were askew. Jordan Armstrong on the other flank, meanwhile, is not a full-back and he didn't really offer much in an attacking sense. Greig Spence worked hard without really contributing and I wonder why we didn't make a change sooner - perhaps Mark McGuigan might have offered something different with 20 minutes to go? Ryan Blair was our best player while Scott McLaughlin showed some good touches in the middle of the park.
Given how poorly we've done against Queen's Park in the previous three matches, I'm satisfied with a point. With Brechin City narrowly losing at Cove Rangers, it's another little step away from the foot of the table.
I couldn't hear what the so-called Stenny Bois behind the goals were signing but did they break into choruses of "Hello! Hello!"? If that was the case, get it packed it. No place for that kind of stuff at Ochilview.0 -
I'm quite partial to a wee snowball at Xmas while decorating the tree. Do they sell snowballs in the social club. I haven't noticed them on the cocktail list.
Any cans, bottles or snowballs sir?0 -
It was my fault. I commented that given the weather that day it wouldve been good if the stewards had let us get in the ground quickly and waived the usual frisking. It then snowballed from there. Is this a match thread?. Who gives a shit about a pat down as long as we are winning games ffs0 -
For someone who doesn't look especially tall Sal wins an incredible number of headers at both ends. Pity that we've not yet managed to work out how to capitalise on his flick ons. That's not the first game that I've noticed Sal winning headers while defending corners. Really hope we can hang on to him for as long as possible.2 -
Anyone know what the story is with Slater ? Blink and he disppears? Probably no coincidence that midfield in the second half was not as effective as in the first. Was i imagining it or did Wullie have a terrific save in the first half but i don't recall seeing it in the highlights.

My daughter and i were greeted with a cheery smile, a question about carrying bottles and cans and if no, on you go. What a difference. G4S had deployed a new pairing. The Head of Frisking had failed a late fitness test.Good solid performance in difficult conditions. Not a bad crowd considering the kind of day it was.
I was late arriving so no searching. Was that the case for everyone today? Also no sign of Mr Frisky, maybe he has been subbed.0 -
Just listened to the interview with Stuart Morrison. Thought he and Grant were terrific today. Both have good positional sense. Nice selection headache for Ray. Loving Children of the Rayvolution getting played over the PA. Someone's got a good imagination on the media team.

What i'm liking just now with this midfield is they hunt in packs and are good at closing down the opposition. Earlier in the season our midfield was often overrun.

I thought the defence was terrific today and we are starting to get better at game management.
Second half we lacked a bit of something but Galt did his best to try and make things happen and would've been my MOM.0 -
What are you trying to say HD ?They only frisk the good looking fans.0 -
I didnt get frisked today on the way in. I'm in shock.Couldn't agree more, great gesture.
Plus as Alex and his/her dad are to be welcomed via the main entrance, they can bring as many cans, flares and flammable banners as they can carry [emoji6]0 -
Essentially the club set out with the best of intentions to remove risk by issuing the instruction to search everyone going through the turnstiles but due to unavailability of resources and an unwillingness to apply the policy at the main entrance the club has sleepwalked into implementing a policy which discriminates between males and females and members and supporters. That's it in a nutshell. It would be nice if whatever they do going forward if everyone was treated equally. They obviously think there is less risk form a member who pays more money compared with the ruffian season ticket holders and lowly supporters. I can't say the frisk bothers me but the hypocrisy certainly does.2 -
Queen's Park v Annan at Hampden and you'll get in for a fiverHello lads
I love visiting Scottish grounds and will be heading up to Glasgow on Saturday to watch a match but was a bit concerned about the weather forecast.
My plan was to attend Albion Rovers v Elgin City but Albion's last home match was postponed so could that happen again on Saturday? My alternative plan was to go to Dumbarton v Raith Rovers if the Albion Rovers game is postponed. Do you think either of these games are likely to be postponed?
I will be arriving by train into Glasgow at 12pm and leaving at 6.40pm. Is there alternate matches you would recommenced if the two I've mentioned are postponed?
Thank you0 -
Yes, it is indeed a club policy. I promised not to reproduce on here exactly what was in the response as it was a genuinely honest response essentially describing a rock and a hard place situation and a fear of potential consequences. I asked if the club would be willing to review the policy on the strength of supporter feeling to identify a way forward balancing risk, likelihood and customer experience. I've not heard back on that.Did you ever get a reply to your e-mail re the frisking from the club?2 -
Something that's concerned me over the last few games is lack of attacking options on the bench if Plan A aint working. Its almost a case of it needing the chosen XI to do the business. I think in one recent game there were 3 defenders on the bench.

How do we see this one going after last night ?

Macron kit always tends to look good and decent quality but Admiral gives me shivers thinking back to the 70's and early 80's when their gear got 10 outta 10 for scratchiness. They seemed to disappear for a long time. Have they made a comeback ?I assume you mean the away top. Sounds pretty cool but can we make a St George's flag optional? [emoji14] (maybe sell a patch in the club shop that people can sew on should they desire [emoji6])
We are getting a new strip next season... I heard that Admiral and Macron are a couple of potential suppliers. The early designs have apparently been shown to some members of the supporters' association committee for feedback and it's been positive. Rumours that we might be going back to Irn Bru colours for the away top....1 -
