John Brownlie can take the reins for the remaining games. He has unfinished business 🙂. Buckley and Wright could probably still do a turn for us too.

John Brownlie's knowledge of the game is still spot on. At the reunion day he was able to identify aspect that required improvement particularly when playing at Central Park. Think he is done with the game now 😅

Really need to identify a permanent manager ASAP to give them time to recruit for the following season to avoid playing catch up it deciding he doesn't like x and y player once the season starts resulting in an early change.

Calum leaving is a blow but this is not unusual for him to move. Yes Bonnyrigg a step up but football can change very quickly and a division above might not be that in a year or 2.

Hopefully Bonnyrigg are not relegated as I wish him success. I also worry that a relegated Bonnyrigg would look at players like Robbie, Matty and Ewan.

Would love for us to approach Jardine and see what the interest would be.

I see absolutely no reason why we should be changing managers at the moment. We are better than last season and hopefully there will be more improvement next as well. I’m not abandoning ship and will be purchasing another season ticket. I do concede there have been more disappointing results than good ones. It has to be better next season.

I don't think it would be a choice from the club to change manager!

On kicking towards the High Street we don’t automatically get to choose which way we kick.  In addition, it generally seems the fashion in football is to take the wind advantage in the first half nowadays.

    That is true.

I find that strange as you would want to defend first half and push on in the second. Mind you, wind can always change as the game progresses stopping any advantage.

Last week was the best league attendance of the season I wouldn't have expected more tbh

The attendance included well over 100 Blue Brazil children and parents, primary school class and ex players. If you the add in the Berwick fans, it was poor.

The push was to pack out Central Park and for supporters to return. I know of many that weren't there. People make negative comments on social media but don't turn up for an important event.

Very disappointing again. Don't agree about no fight. Plenty effort in the second half but we just seemed to keep finding ways not to score. The second goal was a real body blow and so soft. A game that on the balance of play we should have won comfortably.

Totally agree. Losing games doesn't mean players aren't trying/fighting. Robbie McNab chased everything and Matty McDonald was excellent at times. Unfortunately this team are struggling to get results at Central Park and over playing on a tight pitch. Away results show this. We need a couple of players with lower league experience but who and where is the money coming from?

The reunion didn't encourage a positive attendance and some additional revenue. Continued results of this nature won't help unfortunately.

Zak at right back a waste. Don't think McPherson has been the best. If only Walker was kept on!

    Linos position 🤨

Regardless, team didn't turn up! They struggle to play at Central Park. Away results show this!

Decent enough turnout today but was hoping for more at game and Wee Jimmies. The legends that turned up deserved this! People need to support these initiatives.

    Was another good listen

For the reunion day to be a real success and turnout that we want it to be,I feel there needs to be some further creativity/publicity.

Can our media team publish a short video to advertise the event/perhaps with short videos from Ambassadors/current fans Old and new encouraging people to come to the event?

Can local radio help promote the event with perhaps someone from the club/CISS getting to come on to promote?

A competition of who takes the most people to take to the reunion day?

Just some ideas for consideration and appreciate needs volunteers too to help enable this.

All ideas are good Scott. We are continually engaging with ex players to do short messages and planning to push forward advertising from this week.

    Any ideas and help appreciated.

  8. Good confidence boosting win last night. We won 8-2 in a bounce game against Edinburgh  Utd. Josh jack x 4. Matty x 1. Darryl x 1 and new centre back signing jack denham got 2 from corners (6ft 5). Might help with cross balls in the box both ends of the park 😀

  9. 5 hours ago, Cowden Cowboy said:

Of course when down to 10 men then there is naturally more scope for opposition in box (without taking into account many fans also want teams to have 2 defenders on the posts plus other players as outlets at half way!)

All this is true but we can't make excuses for allowing Tiwi to stand unmarked just outside the 6 yard box even before the cross came in. I'm 100% certain that Calum will be unhappy with the marking and lack of effort to put pressure on the cross. We will win many more games once we start dealing better with crossed balls.

I really like Hepburn and he can definitely succeed and Josh has potential. I do believe though that with a more experienced, vocal and dominant keeper, we would defend set pieces more successfully. Unfortunately, hard to find a McGurn or Hay and cost 💰

(3:15) Should get your eyes checked then, it's obviously for the swinging arm from number 9 which appears to strike the head of the EK player.

His hand caught his shoulder and this was followed with a theatrical roll about. Thanks for acknowledging that it "appeared" to strike the head.

The reaction was what got Ewan a red card.

Put in danger because a thug in a Football shirt might assault him. Logic EK style !

The Lowland League lacks professional standards. Ek will get a shock when in Football Leagues. Actions around sending off (e.g. Goalkeeper coach grabbing Ewan and the ballboy incident) would have been reported.

  12. 1 hour ago, ekok said:

Agree the referee wasn't very good,  both ways. The full time on the benches was 1 yellow each, not good but correct.

The ballboy incident wasn't a push, just another despicable situation where children are being  put in danger by adults telling kids to disrupt the game. Happening all over , needs to be addressed,  which I will be asking my Club to do so.

"Put in danger" ?? Agree frustration can result in a reaction that is not normal but it can't be done unfortunately. Mick Kennedy did recognise this but should have done this before his team scored. Anyway all the best for the remainder of the season and please go up so the other teams are left with more opportunity for promotion.

Tremendous effort from the ten men. If we show that attitude and application every week we could be right up there next season. It all got a bit overheated at times, not helped by some eccentric refereeing. The two benches didn't help either. Cowden player elbows EK player and is immediately sent off by the ref so why all the ranting and raving from the visitor's bench? Both management teams going ballistic over throw ins on the halfway line. They can hardly complain if their players lack discipline. The referee wasn't very good, but he doesn't have an easy job.

Lots of very valid points. The sending off was not an elbow. Looking forward to the replay.

  14. Don't agree with any Supporter shouting things that you have reported but let's not be all high and mighty when as a club your own officials thought it was acceptable to push a child!

Just a reminder that CISS is holding a meeting/gathering after the game Saturday in the club. Its vital as many members and potential new members/fans can come to this. The work done by the people running the CISS is huge as we can see by the new club ambassadors etc. Would be great to get more members signed up as this will help with budget and recruitment for next season.

A lot of work going in to next season already (started a few months ago to be fair) I think we can all agree the extension of contracts for players builds a really good core for the club for next season and progression for sure has been made this season from last however we are all looking to push forward even further.

Hopefully good turn out on Saturday and future games as well as the big day against Berwick at home!.

    Mon the Cowden.

Thanks for posting a reminder about CISS event.

The event is for members only as a thanks for ongoing contributions with a drink and raffle. Hopefully see more sign up soon and help us achieve the target which in turn supports player recruitment.

Agree that Zack signing would be a boost and can be supported by an increase in CISS members.

  16. The biggest disappointment was the performance with another few extra people turning up for the game. Always happens!

The team battled away but Bo'ness know how to win games. Missed Ewan through the middle today and would love to see Robbie back in the midfield. Unfortunately Bo'ness seem to be a team we struggle against.

The referee performance today was comical at times for both teams.

    𝐋𝐄𝐓'𝐒 𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐋!!!
    𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡

Did you attend a game in the 1970s as we battled in the big league?

Were you one of the Cowden supporters that descended on Alloa for the nail biting decider in 1992?

Did you cheer us on in our big promotion game vs Brechin City in 2001?

Were you there when the helicopter passed over the ground in 2006?

Did you attend matches during recent success as we climbed to the Championship? Did you witness the trophy presentations or the great escapes at East End Park and New Douglas Park?

If so, we would like you to help us to reunite on the 16th March at our home game vs our longstanding rivals Berwick Rangers.

Can we fill Central Park like we did for the unforgettable moment against Elgin City and show what Cowdenbeath FC really means for our local community?

All ex-players and management will be welcomed back for this special occasion and will hopefully join fans before and after the game for some reminiscing. We will also introduce them at half time so we can show our appreciation. Some of the names will be shared on the lead up to the day.

Let's do this, let's fill Central Park again. Please share away, spread the work and help us to see all supporters back together again.

    𝐖𝐄 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐖𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇!!!

  18. Just a reminder to CISS members that we welcome you all to the Lounge after the game on the 30th for a drink and an update.

We also have some decent raffle prizes. All members entered in the draw.

It is still not to late to join. If interested please get in touch.

The CISS still requires more members to reach our target of 20% shares. Remember that all the money goes towards player budget and will help us to keep players like Zak and Matty and push on for a successful 2024/25.

Craig Barr would be acceptable. Just saying.

Not playing anymore, would want an unaffordable wage and although I liked him as a player, he never acknowledged the supporters.

A legend who will always be welcomed to central park, but in terms of him signing this season it hasn’t worked out he’s been miles off the pace, managing 60mins at most and constant injuries, glad he’s off the wage bill now next centre half signing we have to get right as it’s our weakest position imo

I like Gregor Jordan but would be better with a strong centre half beside him.

Greg McPherson to Cowdenbeath now confirmed.

We need to change things up. Team is still not achieving success so hopefully with a couple of additions, we begin to kick on! Securing players for next season  will be a priority I would imagine.

We don’t have a Mick Kennedy money tree so I guess budget needs to be freed up to bring others in. Surprised at Scott tho he hasn’t been playing well recently but maybe a high earner ?

I really like Scott Walker as a player, especially on the attacking side of things. Must be to free us some wages. I think at times his defensive qualities can let him down and Calum maybe looking for a more solid back 4.
