  3. Scotland have missed out. Martin Boyle has been our most improved player in the SPFL era - perhaps even in the past 20-30 years. He came to us like Ivan Sproule, with raw pace and blistering acceleration but no end product. Don't remember him? Since his debut, he has improved on every aspect of his game to the extent where he has become invaluable to Hibs. By adding better passing and finishing to his game, he has went from a winger/wing-back to a versatile Jack-Of-All-Trades (Master Of Most). A forward that brings the entire team forward. I won't begrudge Boyle of a move, although it will leave us without our best player in recent seasons. His H**-Hammering Hampden Heroics will always be remembered: the Deady Bears that he ripped apart will forever be etched in my memory. His most memorable moment, apart from his contribution on the pitch will always be his post-final bender in which he racked up records for the amount of days he spent out celebrating with the fans. Like the hair on his beautiful dome He vanished then returned to our Easter Road home If he stays, The Hibees will be thrilled If he leaves, he leaves with our best wishes (And the scalps of the ***s he killed) ©Mon Dieu
  4. Almost fifteen minutes of footage from the 1949-1950 season, including footage against St Mirren and Rangers: The Easter Road Parade 'Rangers won the league with a 2–2 draw in their last match, away to Third Lanark, a game in which Rangers took a 2–0 lead before Thirds fought back to 2–2. Another goal for Third Lanark would have handed the title to Hibernian. A few days previously, Rangers had drawn 0–0 with Hibs at Ibrox before a crowd of 101,000, the largest crowd to watch a League match in Britain since the war, a record that still stands. Had Hibs won this match they would have become champions.' Hibs were one point away from winning the league - with a vastly superior goal average and goal difference. In the 1952-53 season, Hibernian were level on points with Rangers - Hibs lost the title by goal average.
  5. 2 January 1956 Hibs 2-2 Hearts It was the last time Easter Road accommodated over 60,000, with 60,812 in attendance.
  6. Hibernian's Franck Sauzée scoring against Heart Of Midlothian on 19 December 1999. Hibs won the final derby of the millennium 0-3.
  7. Arthur Duncan scoring Hibernian's third (and his second of the game) against Heart Of Midlothian. 1 January 1973 Hearts 0-7 Hibs
  8. 'Warburton was loathe to discuss the shocking scenes at Hampden in the immediate aftermath of the Cup final. His players were forced to get their runners-up medals in the dressing room, delivered in a carrier bag and distributed by Warburton and Weir. He said: It was a disappointing way to end the season. Hibs won and credit to them but we were 2-1 ahead and I felt we should've seen it out. Losing Dom Ball through suspension hurt us. We lost that physicality and height he brings. However, the big priority was to return to the Premiership and we managed that. What happened after the final was deeply disappointing. It's very sad such a showpiece game will be remembered for that. But that's all I'm saying.'

Hibs became the first lower-league side to feature in both the League Cup Final and Scottish Cup Final, in the same year.
