Nah, he's running a social media campaign to get himself back into football after a few years out. Seems like it's gaining a bit of interest and stuff but i also noticed he is out in Dubai just now. FWIW, I actually think a few of the clubs around us may have offered him some kind of deal or training facilities this month, but it wouldn't be good PR and things and will be a much better story if he gets a move further up the leagues. Plus, it's titled something along the lines of "365 days to return to pro." So would be a bit boring if it ended after 30 days. It's relatively low risk for a team at our level to take him on as he shouldn't be commanding a huge wage and is more likely to do a job at our lower level than say, The Championship. I think he may be seeking a full time deal, so perhaps a Queen of the South or Cove Rangers might be more viable options.

I said this yesterday. We would be as well signing an extra outfield player and deciding which outfield player will go in goals in an emergency. Complete waste. The only thing is that, by the sounds of thing, he's joined for next to nothing. But still...

Yeah, I think I've only ever bet on a Dumbarton match once in the past and to be honest, I probably don't spend as much as £50 in the whole season on bets. But I said weeks ago that I thought we might lose 0-7 and given our recent form, I still think we could. Sticking a £1 on a correct score doesn't means I'm supporting Rangers. I hope we win, would absolutely love it if we could make it hard for them, but I have proper concerns over this group, in the form they are in, vs a sharp and rested Rangers team. Add in that the last time Harry Broun played vs a Rangers 11, he conceded 7 and that was against their boys...

I'm going along... May hate every second of it but imagine something did* happen and I wasn't. I'd be absolutely raging I also have a bet on Rangers winning by 7 goals. I never bet on Dumbarton matches but this isn't normal circumstances.

I enjoyed when the commentators said something along the line of, "I've never known Carswell to play at centre back". He played the whole of last season there, including a game which was on BBC in the cup (think it was Alba but still...).

It's been dry here pretty much all day with a bitter cold wind and mostly sun (no heat in it ). I'm not sure if that is better or worse than the rain we were forecast though... especially if the ground is still hard in areas.

Also, by signing another centre back... do we assume we'll be lucky to see Durnan back this season? I don't understand why we would make this signing otherwise. I still don't think we needed another CB, even with Newbury being cup tied this weekend.

He mentioned spending Chuckie's wage, but I'm pretty sure we all expected a like for like to come in. But I do agree, I thought we would have tried to shift a couple more during January. My thinking was Ryan Blair & Declan Byrne. Unfortunately, I doubt we'll see the former leave but surely we could negotiate something.

That's a fair point. What's happening with Charlie Reilly this season? Apparently only made 6 appearances for Dundee. I'm surprised he hasn't been sent out on loan. Can see why he hasn't made many appearances as they are doing particularly well this year.

I'm not convinced we have the biggest budget in the league. I do, however, believe that Farrell (as hopeless a manager as he is) is good when it comes to making signings. I'm sure we offered Gregor Buchanan a deal, but he chose to go to Stenny, for more money. I reckon Stenhousemuir and maybe Peterhead have a bit more to work with (maybe Clyde also?). Dumbarton as likely on a par with teams like Forfar and East Fife. That's just my guess though. I do agree that, all players fit, we have the strongest starting 11. But we also have a hopeless manager who can't get the best out of them and who seems to only ever have 1 game plan and no plan B.

To be fair to Faz, on that one, he said that the players said it was 2 yards over? I think.

I heard, third party since I missed the game today but tuned in online, that Harry will be off after the Rangers game. So I assume he'll be in goal to concede another 7+ to a Rangers outfit then either be out on loan or released.

Aye, Bonnyrigg are a bunch if hammer throwers and look like a junior side playing in the professional leagues. But that says as much about our inability to grind out results as it does about them being in this league. We built a team, at the start of the season, who liked to get the ball down and play. But too many of the pitches in our league struggle for half the season and look like today's. Makes it more laughable that our own is only a little better, so handicaps us in about a quarter of our league games throughout the season. As I touched on above, we have an inability to grind out results on days like today. We are also losing far too many soft goals, every week, at the moment. Having to score 4 or 5 goals every week, when you lack creativity and confidence in the final third, is impossible.

It's so rare that the goals we lose aren't poor, from a defensive point of view. It is so easy to score against us, right now.

Yeah, interesting team selection. Making unnecessary changes hasn't worked in recent weeks, but we'll see what comes of today.

The most bizarre thing being that he appeared to protect others like young Harry Broun and Ryan Blair in the same interview.
