  1. It wasn't a sham pyramid before Covid hit... It was working as Edinburgh City, Cove Rangers, East Stirling and Berwick Rangers would attest to. It's a sham just now cos the SPFL are using a worldwide pandemic to their advantage. Imagine the SPFL using the amount of games played as an excuse when they relegated teams in their league last season who hadn't played the same amounts of games as their opponents. You couldn't redden their necks with a blowtorch that mob. And a MOB are exactly what they are.
  2. Manager Stewart Maxwell has been busy over the past few weeks retaining players for the 2022 season. The gaffer felt it was important that during the uncertainty of a possible restart that he club moved to secure the basis of a squad that would compete in what will be a tough Premier Division next season. All the players retained have been published on our Social media platforms.... #MonTheRoy[emoji837][emoji835]
  3. A start date to be confirmed by the council this week which will see The Rabs coming home. A massive investment and a bright new dawn. #MonTheRoy[emoji837][emoji835]
  4. A better result yesterday for Rob Roy.... Winning 4-2 versus a determined Bonnyton side. This game still showed the lack of consistency of our young squad though. A first half where we dominated possession saw us fall behind, early on and then 2 fine headers by Scott Gold got us in front before indecision in defence saw the visitors level the score at half time. Alex Cassells would not come out for the second half which saw a change in formation and a debut from Fraser Scott. The Rabs were in command for the whole 2nd period and after the substitution of Gold for Reilly the game changed and his contribution to the 3rd and 4th Goals by Leighton and Truesdale were brilliant. An injury to young fullback Kian Gilday meant that gaffer Stewart Maxwell was able to give a debut to 17 year old defender Aaron Bryson and getting young players through from our 20s development squad shows that the future is bright for Rob Roy. A well deserved 3 points for the lads .
  5. 4-2 win for Rob Roy...scorers were Scott Gold X2 Robbie Leighton Craig Truesdale
  6. Appreciate that....I'm sure this would have started by now if it hadn't been for the pandemic. Fingers crossed for a start in January [emoji1696]
  7. Lesson not learned for Rob Roy after last week... Had about 20 shots at goal today , 16 in the first half alone and yet again cone in at halftime 1-0 down to Troon. We again lose a goal 5 mins into the second half and leave ourselves a mountain to climb. To be fair to Troon they changed system and sat in and made it so difficult to break them down once they were 2 goals ahead. We are a young squad, but we have to improve our decision making in the final 3rd and convert the chances we are creating and our play deserves. Tough day but we have to believe in what we are doing. #MonTheRoy[emoji837][emoji835]
  8. Hurlford 2 v 1 Rob Roy A hard lesson that if you don't take your chances when on top, good sides will punish you. Blair park is always a difficult place to go to and Hurlford are on a good run of form , do it was encouraging that we played so well in the first half creating 3 good chances to score only for the keeper to make 2 great saves and a missed header that should have had us in front at the half...but switching off from marking a man led to Hurlford taking the lead on 41 mins. The second half Hurlford improved and deserved their second goal , although we had a complaint as our Conor Bell was fouled just before Rab Griffiths gave away a penalty. 2-0 down and to be fair to our players we never gave up. The gaffer went 3 at the back which left us open to a few counter attacks which we were lucky to survive...we kept going and got a goal back with about 5 mins to go from Craig Truesdale but try as we might we couldn't get the equaliser... Hopefully we learn our lesson and take our chances.
  9. Thanks to St.Roch's for the friendly tonight...The Rabs won 4-3 in horrific conditions. Was good to get a run out after our game on Saturday was postponed.
  10. Delighted that Jake Mcatemney has joined the backroom staff at The Rabs to assist with Physio duties. Jake is in the last year of his Sports Therapy qualification and we hope his knowledge will help with the players Fitness, health and wellbeing. #MonTheRoy[emoji837][emoji835]
  11. A little bit of history tomorrow as The Rabs play our first ever South of Scotland Cup tie away to Dundonald Bluebell FC ... looking forward to our wee trip to Fife.
  12. No doubts about that..I'm more disappointed that the lads let themselves down and that they are better than the bare result appears. We have had a tricky start with Darvel, Beith, Clydebank and a derby game with Cumbernauld thrown in. I'm not downbeat, I'm encouraged at how the lads have done. As always the next game is the important one.
