  1. NEW SIGNING Club confirmed that they have completed the permanent transfer of Reece Murdoch , Goalkeeper from Cumbernauld Colts. A position where the squad was light in terms of only having Matty Kerr and now have brought in someone to compete for the number 1 Jersey.
  2. Ben Daily who we signed from Ashfield and Roddy Paterson who we signed from Petershill.....both are forwards
  3. Rabs 2-1 Meadow Brilliant from the lads yesterday, 2 new signings in seemed to give everyone a lift and the team battled back from an early setback by grabbing a big win against a good side. Well done to everyone involved. #MonTheRoy
  4. Back to back 1-0 wins for the lads. Deserved on both occasions and just rewards for the efforts everyone has put in. We will be one of the youngest squads in the top division but it was one of our "older heids" Ian Gold who scored in both games, we move on to the next fixture with a little bit more optimism. #MonTheRoy[emoji837][emoji835]
  5. Disappointed in the result this evening versus Auchinleck, but can't be upset with how our lads played. This young group just need to believe in themselves cos they can compete with the best.
  6. Match result was 0-0.... Limited amount of chances for both teams but a good run out none the less. Both teams made a number of substitutions as is the way in these games. Have to say that after 6 months with no football both sides tried to play. Thanks to Johnstone Burgh for the game and the hospitality afterwards, good luck to them for the season ahead. #MonTheRoy[emoji837][emoji835]
  7. To a certain extent rules had to be amended cos of a Covid shortened season, but if PPG was used to determine a champion to put forward for the play offs ( agreed by the member clubs) then this has to be followed down the line and produce a final league table. Once points are worked out it would follow that goal difference would determine placings in the event of a tie as is the case in ANY other league season. Of course Bonnyrigg could have asked for a change to that rule and make it head to head as the tie breaker.... would that have suited ?
  8. How were the rose stiffed... I don't understand the issue...did they not take the 2nd place teams from the Highland and the Lowland leagues and toss a coin?
  9. Our first pre season game will be played this Saturday 22nd May at Keanie Park as we face Johnstone Burgh...2pm Kick off and fans are allowed to attend, with the home side asking for Donations at the gate. #MonTheRoy[emoji837][emoji835]
  10. It wasn't a sham pyramid before Covid hit... It was working as Edinburgh City, Cove Rangers, East Stirling and Berwick Rangers would attest to. It's a sham just now cos the SPFL are using a worldwide pandemic to their advantage. Imagine the SPFL using the amount of games played as an excuse when they relegated teams in their league last season who hadn't played the same amounts of games as their opponents. You couldn't redden their necks with a blowtorch that mob. And a MOB are exactly what they are.
  11. Manager Stewart Maxwell has been busy over the past few weeks retaining players for the 2022 season. The gaffer felt it was important that during the uncertainty of a possible restart that he club moved to secure the basis of a squad that would compete in what will be a tough Premier Division next season. All the players retained have been published on our Social media platforms.... #MonTheRoy[emoji837][emoji835]
  12. A start date to be confirmed by the council this week which will see The Rabs coming home. A massive investment and a bright new dawn. #MonTheRoy[emoji837][emoji835]
  13. A better result yesterday for Rob Roy.... Winning 4-2 versus a determined Bonnyton side. This game still showed the lack of consistency of our young squad though. A first half where we dominated possession saw us fall behind, early on and then 2 fine headers by Scott Gold got us in front before indecision in defence saw the visitors level the score at half time. Alex Cassells would not come out for the second half which saw a change in formation and a debut from Fraser Scott. The Rabs were in command for the whole 2nd period and after the substitution of Gold for Reilly the game changed and his contribution to the 3rd and 4th Goals by Leighton and Truesdale were brilliant. An injury to young fullback Kian Gilday meant that gaffer Stewart Maxwell was able to give a debut to 17 year old defender Aaron Bryson and getting young players through from our 20s development squad shows that the future is bright for Rob Roy. A well deserved 3 points for the lads .
