I would pick Brown over Dykes as the 3rd striker if he is fit.

Sorry, do you mean Jacob Brown?

That’s honestly the most mental shout in this entire thread, and I include whatever the f**k Elixir was posting last night.

There’s a lot of “they didn’t have a shot on target in the whole game” whingeing from Welsh fans on social media, which is delightful.

They had 5 belters in the shootout though, didn’t they, boyos?

They could’ve avoided all of this if they’d simply managed to beat a honking Armenia team - that’s what I would’ve done.

That said, someone born in England supporting the opposition at Wembley will probably be doing so due to their ancestry rather than the club they support. I think that is likely to be unique to Scotland.

It isn’t. Many Liverpool fans, for example, famously aren’t keen on the England national team.

Patterson has been Bertie Vogts era bad. Maybe one of the worst individual performances I’ve ever seen.

It’s genuinely remarkable. He’s got up and down the park well, and got beyond their line well at times but then made an arse if it every single time the balls actually gone near him.

NI fans singing that “Scotland get battered” song now

Hope your buses all break down on the way home, English wannabe fuds

We could lose this 100-0 and it wouldn’t be close to being as embarrassing as that behaviour.

The issue for me is Germany, Hungary or the Swiss won't play like this it'll be us playing like N Ireland.

Not for the full games though. There will be stages when we have a bit of possession and control, and we’ll need to know what to do when it happens.

Very different prospect tonightfrom Friday. An average team pressing us and running about a lot. We don't typically do well against those and I don't think we'll play one at the euros. So a bit of a pointless match in terms of preparation.

We’ll definitely need to try to break down an organised defence at some point, so presumably this is practice for that.

Surprised so many people have Hibs above Hearts. There's very little between them for me, and on derby days I don't care in the slightest about the result unless it impacts other events.

I like Hibs more than Hearts, but it’s largely because since moving to Edinburgh I’ve found the average Hearts fan to be a much bigger w**k than the average Hibs one.

I also dislike Rangers more because the school I went to was 90% Rangers fans, so I had to put up with listening to their shite significantly more.

Why is it an issue? Domestic Scottish Women’s football is rubbish.

There’s no way that you’re not being deliberately disingenuous here, so I’m not really that interested in debating this further with you.

Suffice it to say that I’m not taking seriously the argument about standard of player from someone who pays to watch Jake Hastie et al on a regular basis.

If Joe Hart or Zander Clark had a howler like that, most folk on here would be laughing their socks off and giving them pelters.  Keepers do tend to get more stick than outfield players when things go wrong.

I think that having a laugh at the mistake is fine, but using the mistake as a means to have a go at all women’s football is the issue.

I’m not accusing you of this, by the way.

  11. Ava Easdon made a couple of excellent saves later in the game. Yes, it’s a big mistake for that goal but the attempt to try to pretend that it somehow shows that women’s football, as a whole, is a waste of time are plainly misogyny.

As for the game, I was there and - despite the result - there was some very entertaining moments, some excellent goals and some obviously talented players. It was very good fun, and if losers like Barton and the above poster want to pretend otherwise then that’s up to them.

Also, for the point that “it shouldn’t be happening at that level” I would refer you to one Steve Simonson in the Scottish Cup semi final, and assure you that it wasn’t even close to the most egregious error I’ve seen from a Thistle keeper this season.
