I've managed to get a club job at long last, and I'm off to Luxembourg. FC Swift Hesperange have been a yo-yo club between the top flight and second tier for a number of years, and are currently sitting just above the relegation spots in the top flight. They've got one Luxembourgish cup to their name, and a host of lower league titles. I got offered another job in Luxembourg as well, but they seemed a bit diddier. That's how the table looks just now. Season is 30 games long, so I've eight to go.

And we got our world cup qualification draw, which should be pretty straightforward. I would expect that only Russia are any good, but even my Latvia side got a draw with them so.

November 2064 We thrashed Portugal, but we were incredibly wasteful with our chances. Like, Scotland v Moldova levels of wasteful. Managed to grab an equaliser though, so I remain unbeaten as Germany manager. Denmark are still just worse than us, so we were pretty comfortable. Not as good as we were against Portugal, but we didn't need to be. So our group ends up like this, and as already confirmed we go through to the semi. We also had the best record of anyone in any group in league A, so that's nice.

I think part of that was that SOD hasn’t really played much in the last month or so, and he was absolutely fucked by that point. I honestly think if he was fully match fit he takes another touch and it’s a goal. Final ball isn’t good enough, but he gets into space brilliantly. If he can get one cross right, we’re absolutely laughing. I would also say that the vast majority of Alaba’s crosses were from deep positions where the central defenders should be much more comfortable dealing with them. Think there was only one occasion when Alaba got to the byline to cross. Given that Austria’s entire game plan was ‘give it to David, maybe he’ll do something’, we have to call that a great effort from SOD.

Aye I mind watching it on sky, I think, and the linesman I think realised he’d made an arse of it after Doran ran off with the ball and was desperately hoping it’d come to nothing and could just move on. As I recall, Caley had another goal disallowed that day for a ‘foul’ on the keeper that definitely wasn’t a foul and then the keeper absolutely handed us the win right at the end. That might have been a different game though.

To be fair, Spain drew with Greece at home, France have dropped points against Ukraine twice and Bosnia, and Italy drew with Bulgaria. that said, none of those sides are nearly as bad as Moldova or the Faroes are. And I’m not bothering with results between two shite sides that had no fucking chance of qualifying anyway.

I thought he was dreadful last night. Like, he actively made Austria worse. And, as you say, could have gotten himself sent off for absolutely no reason. Very glad that 9 foot tall boy they had at hampden was injured.
