  1. Considering he has signed on amateur terms I doubt they are spending any money. That would be against the rules. An experienced manager should have been brought in but it's obviously not because of Goodwillie taking the wages instead.
  2. Seriously though, as a Clyde fan, would Tennent be the first person you thought of if looking for an ex player? He's a non entity and even more so to people not connected with the club. Pat Nevin would have been a more sensible choice. The BBC have his number and he has a history of being involved in anti discrimination and anti sexism causes. Tennent clearly only got to give a comment because he has contacted them and asked to stick his oar in. Another thing, and it's a good thing for the team is that the 2 people ultimately responsible for the Goodwillie signing have not even had a mention in this whole saga. McGovern and Macdonald seem to have avoided any scrutiny for the decision to make the signing. It's good that it keeps the media presence away from the first team but it's really piss poor journalism.
  3. There is not a fucking chance that the BBC thought of speaking to Stevie Tennent as an ex player without him contacting them first. It's a murky case and but using it to improve his own image is disgusting.
  4. Can we ask him to boycott the independence movement as well? Total embarrassment of a man. A cynical attempt to improve his reputation after being criticised for making light of rape previously.
  5. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Ditching the CIC will make no difference. If it was a Limited Company like before the Directors would still be volunteers. They will still appoint shite managers. They will still expect fans to fulfill volunteer roles. Directors will still be drawn from the same source, ie. the support. That was the situation before the CIC and is the situation now. A shite squad, a shite manager and a board who didn't act quick enough has got us to this position. That has f**k all to do with a fucking company structure. Switch it back to a Limited Company and you get the same shite but lose the power to do anything about it. If you are unhappy, man up and vote the directors off. Propose a vote of no confidence. Do something other than sitting on pie and Bovril in your underpants seething about the world. Broadwood and the inability to pick a manager are the real issues. I'm as unhappy at the board for not changing the management as anyone else but poor decisions will be made no matter the structure. Focus on the real issues and maybe, just maybe the club can grow. Moaning about who holds the shares changes nothing. The fact the club is a CIC means staying away doesn't hurt the board financially, it only hurts the club. Montrose managed to nearly fill their stadium for the playoff with Brora Rangers. How much will Clyde manage? 800?
  6. Bobby Gracey to add some showbiz to Clyde. Stevie Tennant to come in and be ignored. SLW to see Clyde fans supporting Scottish independence and to throw his toys out of the pram again.
  7. They are a group with zero credibility. They refused to show their proof of funds to the board and haven't yet given supporters anything. If they have the money why won't they show where it's coming from? The group contains ex Directors who openly admit sabotaging previous attempts to relocate the club whilst they were still on the club board. Why should we trust them if they are willing to be that duplicitous in order to gain power? I believe that if the group were credible, actually had proof of funds and had made an effort to engage with the club professionally then the current board would be delighted for them to take over. My mate can source us £3million and hes going to give the club it cos he's a good lad. If anyone wants to ask me questions then please do so but I might not answer them straight away.
  8. Tennent is the friendly face selected to give credibility to Gracey, Daizell, Smith, Ballantyne and the rest of their merry band of blazer chasers. He describes himself as "a visionary". I prefer to describe him as a "chancer" and not a very good one at that. It's no surprise that he has decided to rear his head at this time.
  9. If as CFCUK says that the bill is £35k annually then that sounds ok until you look what is actually paid for. It's 4 hours every second Saturday. That is not value for money. It's the lack of income streams that is the problem. Other clubs may pay the same to upkeep their stadiums but they have money coming in from the stadium to offset that and can use them all week. Paying for training. Paying for youth football. Paying for community football Excessive stewarding numbers No income from advertising boards. No income from the serverys Limited hospitality No supporters bar. No control over clearing the pitch of snow. There are basics that other League Two clubs take for granted. Clyde don't even have the basics and in infrastructure are well behind other clubs. No change of company structure will fix that. Focus on the actual problem and try to fix it. I 100% agree with the final part of your post.
  10. Yes, let's scrap the CIC and go back to a limited company where people can buy shares again. Guess what? The club will still have no money. What do we blame then? The problem isn't a company structure. The root of the problem is Broadwood but it's been compounded by poor choices of manager. Unless the club can get out of Broadwood and start competing on a level playing field with clubs like (and I can't believe I am saying this) Forfar, Arbroath, Annan, Mon-fucking-trose then we will never improve. The former chairman said the club will die if it doesn't leave Broadwood. That statement is still true and people need to wake up and accept it.
  11. I didn't say you had said anything, it's not always about you. Your description of the primary feature of a CIC "to raise as much in short timespans as possible" is entirely wrong. The primary core features of a CIC from the CIC Association are: - Assets owned by the company are held in an asset lock which secures those assets to applications for the good use of community. - Limitations applied to dividend and interest payments made to shareholders and financiers ensure a profit can be made, but the primary focus remains on achieving benefit for the community You also name two people who as far as I know have never been involved in Community Interest Companies.
  12. Great post. But I'd also add you wouldn't need to sell the club and I'd argue that makes Clyde even more attractive for investment. The only reason someone would want to actually own the whole thing is if they wanted to resell it later. That's unlikely in modern Scottish football therefore if they are looking to invest it's probably philanthropic or just that they want involved in football. No one wants lumbered with a club they can't sell when their money runs out. Clyde offers control and the ability to walk away without the burden of selling something no one wants to buy. They could get control of the club by being co-opted on the the board and then confirmed by members at an AGM. There is no other club where it's easier for someone to come in with money and take control. Once in control, there is nothing stopping them paying themselves a wage. It's an absolute myth that money can't be made from a CIC. Money being made from being in control of Clyde is probably impossible at the current time though.
  13. He was CEO for 8 months. Can you list what he achieved in those 8 months? I'll start you off: - Hosted a couple of fan engagement meetings alongside a Director. - Encouraged fans to organise a race night. - Bought pints for fans in Jersey - Hinted at new signings on social media. Did I miss anything? A Rangers fan who got involved because of Ferguson. Quits when he falls out with him. Hopefully he isn't anywhere near the players now if he's fallen out with the manager. Another in a long line of hangers on that have come through the doors of Broadwood seeking a blazer. Next please.
  14. So you think they are lying about Ferguson putting in money but also you think they are not lying? If he's putting money in then it will be in the accounts, if it's not in the accounts then you are essentially accusing them of fraud. That's not an accusation that should be banded about lightly even on an internet forum. Being shite is never acceptable but it doesn't get you the jail, although I hear today's performance was criminal. McMillan is an amateur. Unless you play with Queens Park then amatuers don't get a wage.
  15. There is 321 shareholders, otherwise known as owners. If you have evidence that these shareholders have been lied to over this then you should share it with the authorities. It's a serious offence and would end their careers at Clyde and in their day jobs.
  16. Barry Ferguson has denied he is putting money into the club. The Clyde board have denied that Barry Ferguson is putting money into the club. Others are saying that Barry Ferguson is putting money in. Someone is lying. Current Directors could be barred from serving as Directors on any company board if found to have mislead shareholders.
  17. An operating loss is not the same as a debt. Accounts 101.
  18. We already have a French youth team playing in the Lowland League in the shape of EduSport Academy. A team of young French players, studying at UWS in Hamilton, playing their footbaIl in Annan. Literally zero supporters. This team could potentially replace an Arbroath, Clyde, Montrose etc in the senior league system. Just think about that possibility. The madness has started already. If we can have a French youth team then we can have Scottish youth teams. The Colts are coming whether we like it or not.
  19. I particularity like how the BBC acknowledge City as being "part timers" as if that is something unusual in Scottish League Two.
  20. The fact that Clyde is in capitals on the thread name is going to annoy me for the entirety of next season.
  21. Would Livingston be likely to see out the season in administration or does liquidation loom?
