  1. Even afterwards as well he's been pretty sound and he's an excellent co commentator, but aye he didn't cover himself in glory during this spell, especially in 2012, even if he was under considerable pressure. Most of the BT Sport team did a pretty good job while they had the rights.
  2. Can't let anything small like a title get in the way of a tear stained, inaccurate, mewling letter.
  3. Hands off. Hopefully the fact he'll have a sizeable buy out under his new contract and the money you spunked to sack McInnes will push your BOD towards a free agent. [emoji1696]
  4. Aye County are desperate for points for as well and arguably in better form than Accies. I think we just presume StJohnstone win though given their recent results. In our own hands against Hamilton on the last game before the split, we'd all have been delighted if offered that a few months ago. Hopefully McGrath and JDH are fully match fit now.
  5. Aye despite my strong distaste for sticky buns pretty much agree with this tbh. Whole lot of pearl clutching going on regarding the Covid situation. Would I have been on the streets in the current circumstances if we won a trophy, no, but I'm fairly sensible middle aged fart now, but I certainly wouldn't be having a pop at any of our fans who did. For a club that likes to throw around tear stained statements like confetti when they're getting pumped though, really should have seen a firm one issued last night for people to keep the heid and disperse.
  6. If it happened, come on now. 2m search sure there's plenty more, especially on the rangers forums.
  7. In the replies to the P&B tweet on various rangers fans TLs. Think a few have been deleted already though.
  8. Sweep sweep. But then maybe indulging in FTP/BBs/Lisbon lions won't see 10iar/etc etc is perfectly acceptable behaviour in your book. [emoji106] Anyway there will be a match kicking off soon thankfully. No doubt get pumped but I would Love It Keggy style if we managed to pull off a minor miracle and take something today.
  9. Really admire what Gerrard has done and they're undoubtedly a great football team but it's good to have scenes like today to remind us what a blight on Scotland a huge section of their fanbase remains. The Covid risk is overblown given they're all outside but we're seeing all the usual hatred, bigotry and sectarianism on display. Some "party".
  10. Plenty of tattie action for the Buddies. [emoji38] Wonderful thread, Craig, great work. [emoji122]
  11. I think this will be because McGrath tends to play a full 90 whilst McAllister has a lot of 60/30m appearances. So even though McGrath has created more chances in total, McAllister has created more per 90mins on the pitch.
  12. Didn't catch the game today but sounds like we were pretty fortunate. Given the efforts the players and Jim have put in this season though, they've more than earned their luck. To grind out a win with a patched up side against a team fighting for their life, at the arse end of an 11 game/34 day slog is a phenomenal effort. It really would take a Hammarby esq sequence of events for us to miss out on top 6 now. Hopefully a few bodies back and recovered for Hamilton in a couple of weeks.
  13. Welldaft living up to his moniker at least. Motherwell will be ok this season but fair rebuild on the cards in the summer. Campbell will be a loss. Don't get the pessimism from some of our fans. Yes there's a decent chance St Johnstone might pip us but I'd still take our position over theirs and I'd have bitten your hand of for this at the start of the season.
  14. Aye we're getting a bit thin now unfortunately. Still no word on Quaner I think but at least JDH and McGrath don't need ops, their replacements are undoubtedly downgrades. Could play a similar line up as against Aberdeen with Flynn, Cammy, Ethan and Connolly all starting, just having Obika in instead of Erwin.
  15. Aye, it certainly would. I think 40 points might well be enough given United's fixtures and our superior GD. That would require St J to take at least 10 from 12 as well.
  16. Always a tough game against Livi but as others have argued this could be a good time to catch them. Wouldn't say it's a must win for our top six chances but it almost certainly is for any outside hope we still harbour of fifth. You'd think Connolly and Flynn would start this game after being benched on Wednesday. Could really do with Flynn's distribution, seem to get bogged down an awful lot with the Cammy/Ethan combo in centre midfield. Hopefully Erwin won't be needed for this one either.
  17. Sunderland skew it a bit obviously but still some very big and well supported clubs in there. And as said above the real clincher is the TV/Sky money.
  18. Normally one of the highlights of the season for me, getting to walk to a game and have a couple of pints en route. Dons have got to be absolutely bereft of confidence atm, great opportunity to come up here and get something. Anything from the next two games is a bonus really before we have our juicy run of home fixtures, but given the respective form of both teams we certainly shouldn't be approaching this with trepidation. And ofc the scene of one the Gaffer's finest moments, will never forget that game.
  19. Awww man, that's a scunner, feel for him he was just starting to show great form. Hopefully back for the start of next season in similar form. While it's a blow for us, the depth chart is fairly deep up top (again not something we're used to) and Big Bad John is balling too. Hopefully Quaner is not too far away, I wouldn't want to be relying on Erwin for much more than cameos. Much rather have Obika than him for next season if we could find someone to take him off our hands.
  20. Very kind, thank you, Lex. I took a wee break from posting a few years ago when I was busy with a new job and moving house and just never really back into the habit. I still lurk on most of the match threads, dishing out greenies to everyone and red dots to randomguy and send the odd tweet or two. Two historic results in a week looks like it's given me the impetus to post again and sing while we're winning. I know you've been banging this particular drum for a while, but you're correct, this really is an exceptionally and historically good Saints team that it's an absolute privilege to watch. Certainly one of the best I can remember in my 35ish years of being a Buddie and it's such a pleasure to see a legend like Jim lead the club with class and distinction. It's just a crying shame the fans haven't had a chance to share the emotion of some of these results with the team in person and I suppose once our usual fatalism kicks in the worry will be about how long we can hang onto Jim? Could certainly see him getting offers down South in the summer, but let's enjoy the distanced ride while we can. [emoji106][emoji209][emoji1665]
  21. Just incredible. Not just any old double over the arse cheeks either. In a dramatic late victory we became the only team in Europe to beat the buns so far this season and quite possibly stopped them doing the treble, plus spanked the quadruple treble winners in their own backyard. Hope you are all well lads, enjoy your weekend. [emoji209][emoji1739][emoji482] What a week, what a team. [emoji1665]
  22. He's been on the sauce early doors again today. "Surely if the SPFL are stopping Premier League now and making awards based on games played, the SFA should do the same with the Cup. Hibs & Aberdeen both had replays, Celtic 3 wins with 6-1 Goal Difference, Hearts 3 wins with 7-0 Goal Difference so Hearts get the Scottish Cup!"
