Took in the Rossvale v Talbot game today. Congratulations to Talbot who were relentless despite a busy last 7 days. Well done to Rossvale who made a good account of themselves against the best non- league side in Scotland.

Looking forward to taking in the Rossvale game tomorrow and giving Neill McPherson a bit of stick.

Rossvale took an early lead and should have been further ahead before losing their way and letting a lively Yoker back into the game. Yoker keeper had two great saves , one in each half and when Rossvale took the lead from the spot in the 80th minute it looked like they had got out of jail. That was until Yoker got the break their play deserved when they were awarded a penalty of their own, and their centre forward made no mistake from the spot. The match went to penalties and both sides missed their first with each then remaining level at one each Rossvale then scored two on the trot with the Rossvale keeper saving two to take his team through. While Rossvale were far from their best Yoker were impressive.

Troon is a great job for a junior manager. The way the club is run is an example of everything that is good in the game. My view is they have been underachieving recently but I am sure that with the right appointment things will improve. One thing is for sure, the position will attract a lot of quality applicants.
