  1. Said this before too. Genuinely wouldn't mind an East Stand similar to Motherwell (minus the pillars). Or St Mirrens West stand. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  2. To be honest, I'm in the "the stadium needs finished" camp. That open side is an eyesore. At least it's going to be more than just seats and sounds like it'll serve the team, fans and community. Re capacity versus crowds, we have a stadium that's too big (main stand anyway) and we'll never have 6000+ home fans (other than one off games, we didn't even get that at Brockville). At our peak a few years ago in the SPL we averaged about 4500 home fans, that's probably our whack. My only hope is the new stand has no more than 2000/2500 seats and is close to the pitch. 3. None as far I'm aware. I had heard almost all of that months ago to be honest, assume the latest confirmation of progress last night is just that. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  4. Stadium completion was confirmed at last nights AGM. By all accounts it will be a stand, offices, hospitality suites and various facilities for the team and community teams. I believe the community side is funding a good percentage through grants. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  5. 60k was the rumoured fee Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  6. It's a decent squad with a decent manager. Better than last season? Our current league placing would suggest yes and we are beating teams we would have drawn/lost last season. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  7. Agreed. Great remembrance tribute by the club pre match and a nice touch including the Paris victims in the minute silence. There was a moment of real unity in the 2nd half when we were attacking constantly and the team were doing all they could to score and to a man, the full South stand belted out "We're blue, we're white" in recognition. 8. What a job Houstie and the players are doing. We don't fear going behind now, just look at yesterday and Ibrox last month. Last year we wouldn't have won games like that, we may even have lost a late equaliser. Hibs will, at some point, "Hibs" it and we just need to be on their coat tails to take advantage. Be great, with the international break next week (Sevco and Hibs not playing too) to get another win versus Alloa at home. Hopefully the punters continue to come out in good numbers. 9. Sadly, can't see that happening mate. As usual and as has been the case, the board will simply enforce the NDAs so nothing of note will be shared with the wider fan base. The key decisions and information will be kept in the wooden room. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  10. I'd like to hope not. I'd very much doubt it from 2 out of the 4 names anyway. Good luck to them, I am sceptical as to what it will achieve with the current board in place, who will see this as a PR stunt pure and simple. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  11. This time last year we had 10pts, 8 goals for & 11 against. Currently (before tonight's fixture) we are at 18pts, 12 goals for 9 against. Yes it's not been pretty at times but we are more effective. No reason we can't finish 2nd and best of the rest IMHO. Huge game tonight, a win takes us back to 2nd. A draw is not the worst either in all honesty as keeps us very much in the mix for 2nd. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  12. Bowman has mentioned on FB that he's injured potentially for the full season. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  13. Hearing through the grapevine that some new news/progress is being made with the proposed "East stand" development. Anyone know anything concrete? Pardon the pun. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  14. Win the games versus Hibs and continue picking up points as we are then 2nd will be ours. We are inconsistent, as are Hibs, yet we have not looked like getting beat even in the draws. We will at some stage lose and could be soon but it's how we ALL react to that that will define us. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  15. Spot on. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  16. No not at all, agree with you, the stadium company have a lot of the money making areas of TFS so at least should be footing the cost of the up keep. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  17. Good to see that the brick pods on "stadium way" are finally being repaired. I know FFC have had zero input into the rest of the car park/landscaping project however it's nice to see some time/effort put into the stadium site. It had started to become quite overgrown. I suppose the council/stadium company knew this project was coming and simply stopped investing in general maintenance to the areas not controlled by FFC. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  18. Another strong result for the U20s Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  19. Not sure what's happening with the South stand 1st floor just now. Planning permission was granted last November for a Hospitality suite (1st floor East) and also a Cafe/Bar (1st floor West). Heard nothing since however. From memory the planning permission was requested by 2 directors of FFC. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  20. 3 or 4 stands, it doesn't really matter. People make atmosphere not breeze blocks and seats. Look at last season, you had 2500-3000 Hearts fans all singing, it sounded amazing. It just needs everyone to give a monkeys and contribute. Re the 4th stand, it will happen and will be financed through various parties, 2 of which will be the club and the community/Foundation through cash reserves and grants I believe. It's important the stadium is finished for a host of reasons, none more so than to finish a project that was started over 10 years ago and the fact that the fans/club/town deserve a completed stadium. I think some people are under the impression it will be another 4000 seater stand. I heard nearer to the 2500 mark capacity. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  21. There are funds for him should we want to sign him. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  22. Striker on trial this week, Houstie not giving his identity away however. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  23. Tuesday aside, I actually think we've played pretty well in the competitive games. Created a number of chances and are unlucky to not be sitting on maximum points. Although I couldn't make the East Fife game so can't comment. Agree with BPM in that when we add another striker, added to what we already have, will see us finish in at least 4th, if not better. I personally think St Mirren will struggle this season and QOS will fade away. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
  24. Great piece of business for Botti considering. I'm hearing it's £150k cash, same again once he plays a 1st team match and a 15% sell on. I'd imagine the signing will be confirmed at the same time as 1 or 2 strikers come in the way in the next couple of days. Sent from my iPhone using Pie & Bovril
