Hopefully just a one-off due to a pretty stop-start few months for him but Halliday was miles off it today. Like I say, hopefully a one-off but also- let's cancel his PCA.

Something I thought was very odd was the way we started pretty brightly- after about 10 minutes I thought we'd win comfortably- and then seemed to remember that we'd had two weeks off and suddenly the passes became slacker and everybody looked a bit off the pace.
I'm not saying Kettlewell is blameless but I think central defence right now is more of a personnel issue than a tactical one. I like Casey, Bevis, SOD and McGinn individually but hopefully next season we're only playing at most two of them at any given time. Tbf I was amazed Bevis didn't give away a penalty at any point in that second half as there were a few situations where that's the usual outcome.

Today's results just about secure safety and put Top 6 out of reach. Couldn't really blame the team if they decided to put their feet up and give Dundee and Hibs a couple of easy wins pre-split.

Fair enough we might never score against St Mirren again

Good to see Dunne on the bench. We might manage to keep Vale until the end of the season at this rate.

No wonder. One of my greatest recent footballing memories is that 4-4 draw in the Cup, where we won on penalties. We've pinched your manager and cherry-picked your best players and you've yet to score against us this season. I can see where you're coming from, pal.
Yes it's a shame what this season has done to my psyche. Most St Mirren fans on here will remember that until recently I had a big soft spot for the Buddies and spent a lot of time over on your thread but this three-game winless run has really soured all that.

Is that because you've not scored against us this season? Or because you would rather get the points sooner rather than later?
I don't like St Mirren

If we win one of the next 3 I'd quite like it to be tomorrow

Can we please stop talking about the 6'3 lump before Ketts tries to bring him back, cheers

I think Wilkinson was... fine. Probably isn't worth what we were presumably paying him and 3 goals doesn't look great on paper but if we'd persisted for the second half of the season and he'd left after scoring 6 or 7 I think folk would be saying he hadn't worked out but had did a job.

Looking at the Nothern Ireland team and they've been playing Spencer at LB to accommodate that Bradley boy from Liverpool on the right. Ketts was ahead of his time.

Only found out the other day that Ryan Strain's granda played for us. Another in the St Mirrenwell column

Gordon comes across as pretty well there but I still find the premise of the article a bit bizarre. I assume its part of a bigger interview than just "I know it's an international break Liam, but here- wasn't Theo Bair shite?"

I'm terrible at avoiding the score to watch a game back later but the one time I've managed it without caving is the 2-2 game at Tannadice where Lionel scored the best goal of all time (on his debut?). One of the most mental things I've ever seen.

I understood that VAR checks every goal in every game. The game you mentioned is the norm.
Aye I meant checks that delayed the game and got announced over the tannoy. For now that still doesn't happen for most goals.

Any rumours about Miller's injury?

Which is horrendous, and is the whole point at the centre of all this. VAR is diminishing the enjoyment of fans at the game, i.e the c***s who put the money into it.
Aye I'd rather no VAR. I just think putting the onus on teams to challenge individual decisions (within reason) would be a lot less intrusive and occasionally a bit of a laugh rather than the current setup where somebody sits in a room and looks for a reason to rule every goal out.

That would last as long as the first big match where a big team lost as they were a challenge short due to a subjective call.
Pointless.
What if it relegated Livi?

Pretty much every single goal would be challenged by the opposing team. You say each team has two challenges per half, for example? How often do teams lose four goals a game? You'd challenge every goal against you and hopefully get lucky now and again.
That'd be a great thing for the fans in the crowd...
Feels like this basically happens now. I'm sure in the County 3-3 game all six goals got checked for something and obviously all stood.

So, what happens when a team challenges a red card for a bad tackle.
Whether it's a red or a yellow involves an element of subjectivity. So, the team challenging could be "right" and the referee could be "right".
Say the referee sticks with his decision. Do the challenging team lose a challenge? What if they are then the victims of a horrendous injustice that they can't challenge (as they've used their challenges up), even though their first challenge was "right"?
And if they don't lose a challenge if the referee sticks with his decision, then everyone just challenges everything.
It doesn't work.
I mean I'd be happy to do away with VAR generally and just let the referee decide on the pitch. But in this Challenge system I devised ten minutes ago I'd still just let the referee be God and whatever he decides is "right" and if you lose a YassinChallenge then tough shit.
