I think we just about deserved a draw but I never saw a goal for us coming to be honest. Gent looked dangerous down the left but he’s a frustrating player at times. We couldn’t get Spittal, Vale or Bair involved enough in the game and the Saints keeper didn’t exactly have that much to do. Every time St Mirren chucked the ball in the box they had players unmarked. It’s as if we don’t practise defending in training. Bloody learn from it Motherwell. I don’t know why the St Mirren rebound from the free kick that hit the bar was headed with so much power? The odds of the ball hitting the bar twice in a row like that must be long. That was the worst we’ve played in the league against them this season and with County and ST J losing I’ll take a point. We played far worse in the league cup game in Paisley just for the record. ETA it’s been a long long time since we scored from a throw in.

There was loads to be annoyed about yesterday. The bizarre choice of the starting wing backs. Thinking that midfield 3 were going to do the dirty work required off the ball. Subbing on the two youngsters when Davor and Moses are available. Questionable refereeing decisions. Only 3 minutes of injury time. I was expecting 7 plus. Ross County winning. Having to wait two weeks again before another game to get this one out our system.

That was such a frustrating tournament. Won twice and lost 3 times narrowly. The attack wasn’t firing and apart from today the defence hasn’t been firing either. We’ve been competitive AF but it’s still so disappointing.

Not totally convinced by our starting line up to be honest. Miller, Spitts and Nicholson should be good on the ball but will they be good enough off the ball? I’d be starting Gent all day as well. Happy with Vale and Bair starting right enough.

Aberdeen are 2/1 at some of the bookies which feels weird maybe? Hopefully we’ve learned our lesson about stopping crosses against them from a few weeks ago and the Bair keeps his run going. I also fancy Vale to score. 3-1 home win please.
