  1. As a relatively casual 'American Rounders' fan, who for historical reasons have spread my alliegence around; So in any given season, I'm bound to be on an upswing from one of; Red Sox, Cubs or BIG SPENDING Mets!... This could be a looooong season!
  2. How much did I enjoy that! First half was a bit of a mess, Scotland butchering any possession. But give ireland their due, they tried to play and were very aggressive at the breakdown. Second half was just a terrific. Scotland looking better, but Ireland were still fighting. As the half went on Scotlands forwards got more dominant, and some of the tackling was boneshaking. Scotland just wore Ireland down and were on top and their dominance showed, whether they went up the guts or wide. Also, for a crowd of 4,800ish they made a hell of an atmosphere. Well done to all involved. Yours, in love with Scotland woman's squad and Women's Six Nations aDONis
  3. Good luck to Scotland's women this evening. Watched the Scotland v Italy game and saw them break their losing streak. Good news is, they can't get the wooden spoon, but could drop to 5th with defeat to Ireland. Chloe Rollie at fullback, looked a class act in the Italy game, but it was the forwards that did the real damage. I can't remember seeing them front up like that in a long time if ever. Two wins and pushing Wales would be a good return this year! Yours aDONis
  4. That is glorious! It is twinged with a hint of sadness, as I really like Donovan Mitchell. I'll get over it. aDONis
  5. Hemin! Shhh! You'll jinx it!
  6. Perma-confused frat boy Tucker Carlson has just been emptied by Fox News (with immediate effect). Probably something to do with some of the lawsuits coming down the pipeline. He was a mega maga (except he secretly hated the Tango-twat)
  7. Gawd I feel physically sick reading that... because it's all pretty much true! The Tories have been so abject, that I believed we had a once in a generation chance to build a more equitable (and better) society. But alas, we're going to get "Labour branded" Tory-lite. Wealth taxes (nope) Fairer pay rises for public sector (nope) Sensible economics such as joining the single market or customs union (nope) Re-nationalisation of some of our core industries (nope) Reform of the House of Lords (I fvkking doubt it) Constituency members choosing local candidates (not if Sir Kier doesn't like them) I really, really, REALLY wanted to believe in Kier, but he's no more than a kvnt in sheeps clothing. Yours, bitterly dissapointed. aDONis
  8. I'm actually hoping for the opposite. I want to reduce the number of times a tired player has to front up against a fresh 100kg - 130kg brick outhouse, that's on the charge. Subs being seen as 'finishers' (bleurch!), has led to rugby becoming more and more about power, and less (dare I say it) about skills. Most benches these days are a 6 - 2 mix, so we know where the game is heading. I think a certain level of fatigue (by having to play longer) would benefit smaller players and lead to more line breaks etc. I'd also hope that it would help (in an admittedly small way) Smaller nations and Tier 2 nations to be more competative, because it would hopefully blunt the nations with large player pools, from being able to replace (almost) an entire pack with fresh 'Finishers' (bleurch!). I know I come across as 'all negative' but I'm not. I absolutely love rugby. I want to see it grow and grow, but I worry that it will become a game for gym-monkeys only. 9. Feck me, it looks like world rugby reads Pie and Bovril (or dare I say it… ME!) more importantly they are coming round to my way of thinking…. Which is nice! 20 min red card option Less TMO clocks on set pieces Once they’ve sorted out number of subs, enforce straight feeds and a bit of rucking, we’ll be hunky-dory! Yours, aDONis Self appointed Emperor of rugby
  10. All joking aside, we are now finding more and more food-stuffs coming into the Uk that have used all sorts of banned products (some of which are even carcinogenic)! Taking back control through SOV-REN-TEE!
  11. Add the current Sir Kier's 'Tory-light' Labour Party to those sentiments and you're bang-on.
  12. Luke Pearce showed common sense at White Hart Lane today. Very, similar collision between Care and van Zyl, to that of Steward and Keenan. Penalty only, which was about right (Although I might have issued a yellow). Decent game after that. Sarries looking formidable, unfortunately!
  13. Terrible decision rightfully overturned. Unfortunately, it's too fvkkin' late. England were up against it before Peyper completely fvkked it for them. Game was a complete bogey after that, a complete waste of everyones time. Rugby needs to buck it's ideas up, it's becoming Amercian football by the back-door. There are too many subs; Players need to lose some bulk and be able to play for 80 minutes. The TMO needs to be less involved. If a referee misses a forward pass or a little knock on 4, 5, 6 + phases back, then play on. It should only get involved when the ref asks or if there is serious foul play. Straight feeds at the scrum! More 10m penalties for chat. It grinds my gears that there are so many appeals for cards etc. Speed the game up. One reset then straight arm at the scrum (you take your chances), kick clock time to be reduced, stop the waterboy nonsense it's delaying restarts, clocks for lineouts from time ball goes out to throw in, stop the caterpillar for box kicks. Allow a bit of rucking (not round the head), but if a hand is in the ruck slowing the ball, then it needs a scrape. Yours aDONis
  14. At long last somebody in the media has said it; https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/65006193 I don't know why the law isn't made more like the tackle in the air, giving the ref's a little bit more discretion. I also think there is a strong argument for an 'orange' card. I think reds should be for cynical foul play, swinging arms, shoulder barges, and oranges/yellows for accidentals (face on face or as in Stewards case, bottling a challenge and having the attacker run head-on into him) depending on how the ref sees it. Whilst I'm on my high-horse, no word yet on ringrose being sent to (the lamentally laugahable) 'tackle school' for his terrible technique when tackling Kinghorn. It's almost like they invented it for reasons other than improving tackle technique! Yours aDONis
  15. I'd argue that Keenan ran into Steward probably more than Steward using force on Keenan. Whether someone comes off worse is not the point. We don't penalise the runner when the defender puts their head in the spokes, even though the outcome often has consequences. Rugby incident may be slightly ambiguous, but it is a contact sport.
  16. I agree. Williams got penalised when Sexton ran head first into him from about a foot. It’s absolute fvkkin arse!
  17. I agree the ref had no option, but the law is shit!
  18. That is where we should have a 20 min red.
  19. The tackle laws are absolute horse-shit!
  20. I don't get all the doom and gloom. Ireland are an exceptional team at the moment. They are an absolute force up front, imagine being able to replace Doris with Conan, it's terrifying. I watched France simply blast England off the ball, time and again. We gave both of them a proper game. Third best in the six nations is probably about right, but bear in mind that, that's behind what I believe to be the two best teams in the world. We are at a point where no-one can take us lightly, and we haven't been able to say that for a long, long time! I love this squad, and yesterday has only shown, that we need to improve, not re-build. Yours aDONis
  21. Mike Adamson is gash, one of the weakest refs out there. Almost bad enough to be a French ref.
