  1. That's what would annoy me the most if I was a Pars fan. I'd be hoping my club cut costs immediately rather than trying to service unsustainable wages/levels of debt by putting everything on promotion back to the SPL. Are the figures HibeeJibee posted above true? So the Pars have spunked £1,030,000 and have been struggling to pay their players for the last 2 months? Staggering.
  2. The point was made that you wouldn't be paying these players much as you got them from the 2nd division. The point I'm making is that most clubs in the 1st Division would've known these players and perhaps offered them something. Thus, Dunfermline wouldn't have been their only option and I doubt you got them as cheap as some are making out on here. Your point about no Scottish football fan knowing them is completely irrelevant.
  3. Nice logic here. So because none of numpties on the First Division forum on Pie & Bovril had heard of these players, no other Scottish club had heard of them either?
  4. That's a pile of shite. Both Wallace and Falkingham would've been chased by a number of clubs after the seasons they had in the 2nd. Just because you hadn't heard of them doesn't mean that no one else had.
  5. As Mozam has said, the official site seems to have confirmed that figure as true. Absolutely crazy stuff.
  6. According to their site, they have a squad of 19 for the U20s. So that means an average wage of about £450 (if the £10.5K figure is true) per month? Seems an awful lot for a youth squad.
  7. Yip. I don't even have the price of the bus fare to Dunfermline this week though so sadly I will miss tomorrow.
  8. Cheers Gordie. Pretty grim times ahead for the Pars. I do feel for the true Pars fans, it's difficult to see a way out of this mess.
  9. Buys shoes in excitement as he finds the ONLY SITE IN THE WORLD WHICH SELLS THEM (how that doesn't ring alarm bells I'll never know) and then says he's going to hunt someone down in a fury after suddenly realising he's fallen for a (rather obvious) joke. I love P & B.
  10. To be fair, it's likely she's out her tits and doesn't actually know what's going on.
  11. I was disappointed we couldn't hold onto Dargo, his movement and touch was good and even if he didn't score every game he would always be involved. Looking at our forward options at the moment I would definitely like to see him back in a Sons shirt but our budget is used up I believe.
  12. Steven MacDougall has signed for us, pure pish/pure mediocre/pure brilliant?
  13. If Falkingham can learn to stay on his feet, you've got yourselves a cracking wee player there.
  14. The boy's spent a lot of his life living in Glasgow, seems like a normal weekend to me.

    The Wire

I am that pal and the above clip was what made me get the finger out and watch this. When Levy says "So you rob drug dealers, this is what you do?", Omars nod is excellent, I laugh every time. Speaking of laughs, this is a favourite clip of mine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhkndQ3LML8

    The Wire

I've said pretty much all these things in debates with friends about the Wire, great post. The point about watching it again and picking up things you missed is very true. Like when Bodie is in the car with String and String says something along the lines of "you ready to be a soldier son?" and then The point someone made earlier about Rawls being spotted in the gay club as well, it's these small things that some folk will notice and some folk won't which makes it so great. I'm currently on season 3 for the 3rd time, it's just too damn good. "Down in the Hole" is a fucking excellent song as well.
  17. Excellent, going to their Glasgow show next month .

    The Wire

I found him a complete c**t as well the first time I watched it, but on second viewing I had a kind of sympathy for him. He does some hilarious stuff too. Omar is the man. I bloody love The Wire.
  19. Aye that's in Dumbarton. It's apparently something to do with a smell coming from the bottom of the waterfall and dog's just take a heider aff the bridge when they get a whiff. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread and will definitely be partaking in some urban exploring!
