  1. At least Falkirk are having a go now, but why wait until the second half.
  2. I am so surprised he is playing L1 football. He's had a couple of off halfs but a really quality future for him.
  3. Just staggered at how poor Falkirk are. I was quite sceptical when many Falkirk fans were voicing their dislike of m and m and their team cos at that time they were still top. Now seeing it for real. Huge job for the next manager who needs to be experienced imo. Morrison is at least trying, the test look like they are in holiday. Downed tools, and as m and m are away it can't just have been them.
  4. Tiffony has been the difference. His performances have galvanised everyone else. Scoring was our problem and since he came in we have been, freely most games.
  5. Despite losing that was a phenomenal game. I do fear that Falkirk having a night off last night will be a telling factor. I just hope that given what we have been through in recent times and how this group of players have dragged themselves to the top, have the fight and determination to see it through. Hoping for a win, on form we should but this is Thistle.
  6. Completely agree. Yet more evidence that I know f**k all about football, as I had him pegged as finished and out the door in the summer. He was a terrible miss v airdrie, sometimes it takes something like that to hammer home a players sometimes missed value.
  7. Don't want to court being told I'm a condescending pri@k but if you don't beat us to the league title you'll go up through play offs. You are a far more solid and creative team than any of the other 3 and should fear nothing from the dross at the bottom of the championship. If by some clusterfuck we were in a play off cove would be the last team I'd want to meet.
  8. for some unknown reason I thought we were 5 points ahead. Now I'm really bruicking it and my usual negativity is kicking in big time. Hope your scenario doesn't come to pass as I don't think I'll see the end of the season with my ticker. Would take a draw tonight, will hope for the win, think your 3 nil would knock back our confidence, this top of the league stuff is exhausting. Bottom line for me is no matter what, cos Falkirk don't play tonight, we go into Thursdays game 4 points ahead of Falkirk which gives us a psychological advantage I'd think. A cove win tonight might give them a psychological advantage. I need a lie down
  9. I'm trying to suppress my usual negativity born from a lifetime of thistle ness. Like many others on here I think the league will be won by either ourselves or cove. Based on Falkirk fans opinions on their team mostly and coves recent stats. So this could be a winner takes all tie and with only 6 points to be played for after tonight this could be the defining match of our season. Didn't expect this 3 weeks ago. Cove win and it's squeaky bum time, AGAIN.
  10. They did, the improvement since the re start has been very impressive, bell and McKenna in particular but brownlee and foster have been as solid with fosters passing being much more accurate. Don't think McKenna gives as much going forward as some right backs but sticks to his role which was exactly what we needed. I like Williamson going forward with cardle but his defending can cause carnage with the centre half being pulled out of position to cover for him. Like this settled back 4 but feel for senna, but he's young and learning. As you said they coped well, much better than back in December.
  11. True, but they had us pinned in for most if the 2nd. Perhaps I'm clouded by my usual sense of dread for the last 30 of most matches this season.
  12. Over the 90 minutes a would say a draw would have been fair. For the last 20 I read waiting for what up until 2 weeks ago would have been the inevitable equaliser. The difference between then and now is our work rate and stamina. Hats off to the staff and players, they seem to have come back far fitter than the first part of this season and it's made a helluva difference. Was impressed with airdrie yesterday, pressed well, kept possession much better in the 2nd half and we rode our luck. Money on them to win the play offs for me.
  13. But not turned up for this 2nd half. All airdrie
  14. Back foot since re start. Inviting them to have the ball for too long and they are likely to score. If this keeps up it'll be a nervous last 10
  15. I like this cos it's bullish and exactly the right attitude but suspect you are making more out of @forameus post than what his intention is. Don't think he is being arrogant, entitled or dismissive of other challengers, though I'm sure he can speak for himself I get that, like me, he is well surprised we are where we are right now and coupled with his excitement driven possibly by 3 years of shite for breakfast we finally arrived at seeing an upwards trajectory. Up to the EF game we were shite, possibly even the game v your shite, we were pretty rank at the back and fairly toothless up front, then blew you away thinks to an awesome double save. Won that and you would be top, but ye didn't. We now have best defensive record (surprisingly we had that anyway, yet all season we have seemed open at the back), and poor goals tally has turned into free scoring for some reason. AND we are looking quite entertaining. So I get you are allowing this post to get up your nose but a little over reaction possibly, which, as condescending as it will sound, good for you. You're shite may very well beat us today, and may very well win the league, I've said elsewhere (not that I'm an Oracle), I fear airdrie out of all the other clubs and would take a draw, you've as good a chance of winning this league as us but let us enjoy our moment in the sun, it's been a while. Enjoy the game ya section B shanker
  16. Where he has pulled a team together, they have improved greatly since the beginning of the season and if this had been normal times with a full league would have bedded in for the first half and pushed on after Christmas and I suspect they would be the best if a rotten bunch. Murray is doing a solid job there and but for our surprisingly good run of form they are the best since the re start. I'm shitting playing them on Saturday. Just goes to show how difficult it is to get the manager right, what works at 1 club doesn't mean it'll work at another.
  17. I know this is none of my business, though respectfully submit a strong Falkirk like you were under Jeffries, is a huge must for the central belt, so here's my tuppence worth re new manager. I know Kenny shields had a bit of a howler in his last post in Scotland but was excellent in all departments at killie and left the club in a decent place and has been phenomenal in his current role. Perhaps too much in the McIntyre mould? I think your club needs a McIntyre type manager to stop the rot, change the direction of the club with a view to identifying a younger progressive type later cos you don't have time just now to f**k about with untested wanna be's.
  18. That game was our turning point for me, the double save possibly saving our season, really pushed on from that match. Totally agree with your saying more twist or two in this split. I strongly believe this will be our toughest test this season as any midfield with Paton in it is hard to bully and break down. Perhaps it's in my Thistle supporting DNA but I'd settle for a point here in the belief we have enough about us to beat the others. Such a pity none of us can be there for what is the most exciting (positively exciting) end to a season for 3 years for us. And I didn't expect to be saying that 3 short weeks ago. Seems i was wrong about my bed wetting over McCall archie and scally.
