  1. It's a lot easier to read on my phone than it's predecessor. The lack of club fixture/results is annoying though.
  2. I was told the pitch was vandalized and they had to repair a section of it.
  3. Huge performance from Hurlford to beat league leaders Pollok today. Rode our luck at times with our keeper having several top saves and two goal line clearances ensuring our clean sheet. Our goal, however, was top drawer with MOTM Taz McKenzie getting his head on the end of a Beckamesque Tiny Watt cross.
  4. Superb result for Talbot again today. Congratulations.
  5. Thought the game was pretty even first half until a defensive error gifted Clydebank the lead, although IMO they should have had a penalty minutes earlier. Second half, another gift left Hurlford a mountain to climb. Ref then denied Hurlford a stonewall penalty and the Ford discipline went. Clydebank worthy winners in the end. Good hospitality at Holm Park which is still a work in progress, but it will be an excellent facility when complete.
  6. Never mentioned bad. Said it was tough and I doubt if any West Premiership team would prefer it to their draw, although Kilbirnie's is pretty similar.
  7. Another tough one for us away to SBA after just getting past Cumbernauld in the last round.
  8. I think you will find that as players under contract are covered by the same rules as their full-time jobs they are entitled to holidays which can only be taken when they would normally be working, so they would actually be in breach of contract if they didn't take time off. I understand fans don't like players to miss games, but quoting contractual obligations as a reason for dismissal is just wrong and ill informed.
  9. Full time at Blar Park. Hurlford United 1 Rossvale 3 At lacklustre performance from the home side should take nothing away from a well deserved victory for the visitors. Ford started better and took the lead through a Paul McKenzie header only for Tony Higgins to equalise with a bizarre goal shortly afterwards. Vale then went ahead thru a tremendous Liam McGonigle strike and were then gifted a third by poor home defending. A red card for each team late on, in what was by no means a dirty game, did nothing to change the outcome and Rossvale coasted home deserved victors.
  10. Craigpenniehill Thistle would have been the obvious choice for me.
  11. We haven't had a settled strike force this season.
  12. Caddy has been brilliant at Hurlford and I doubt if any Ford fan would question his commitment. I don't know, but I'm guessing if he does want away, it's for more game time.
  13. We had James Hilton on loan from Ayr last season, he is now at Stranraer, where he is joint top scorer with 3 goals from 7 starts. He is one of the few young loanees that I can remember not being phased by the physicality of the juniors.
  14. Hard fought three points for Hurlford today. Took the lead from a successful training ground set piece (well done big JG). Jack Whittaker fortunate to stay on the park after raising his hands in retaliation to a brutal foul by the RV fullback. Ford keeper Chris Murchie defended the lead with two top class first half saves. Rossvale had most of the second half, but lacked a cutting edge. Hurlford created a few chances, but failed to kill off the game. 1-0 was probably about all the game was worth (thru my red tinted glasses), but I'm sure DanMan thinks RV deserved a point and he's probably right (BTW sorry we didn't get a chat Dan, my fault entirely - hopefully we'll rectify that in the return match).
  15. Think the Ants have an online programme and according to post above, so do the Buffs.
  16. Given that the only three games Talbot have lost to junior opposition since the beginning of last season were all at Beechwood, it could be argued that it's the best choice of venue for Lanark [emoji848][emoji848] But seriously, I think it's good that final venues are awarded in advance.
  17. IMO Paul Byrne's main strength is his consistency. Rarely spectacular and rarely poor. If he's your weakest link in defence then you'll be fine.
  18. Darvel are heavily odds on for the title, but Ladbrokes priced them at 4/6 at Cambuslang today. Think there's a Laddies in Darvel so I'd like to think that it got absolutely tanned today.
  19. Thought both decisions were soft from where I was standing, although some neutrals nearer the penalty incident than I was said to me later that it was an obvious, but unnecessary, push. The match as a whole was decent IMO, and a draw was probably a fair result. We finished the game much better than Buffs so we're possibly nearer winning it, but over the piece there wasn't much in it. Thought Ryan Wilson was excellent for the Buffs, although MOTM was without a shadow of a doubt Gary Fleming, who had at least one save that a fulltime goalie would have been proud of, and he nearly saved our penalty. Finally, a wee comment on the refereeing team - they were a bit too picky on some of the challenges for me, but they were totally consistent, and IMHO that's all we can ask at this level.
