  1. Clydebank F.C. 2018/19

Much as I prefer watching games on grass, there is no doubt that the plastic fantastic makes fiscal sense. Both Largs and Cumnock just replaced the pitch and retained the character of their grounds, Petershill didn't/couldn't. Hopefully Holm Park will still have the feel of a football ground after the renovations not lose its character.
  2. Manager Moves

    Alex McLeish is available ...
  3. Kilwinning Rangers 18/19

Sad to think tonight was the last game I'll go to at Abbey Park. Understand why the Buffs are moving, and this is by no means a dig at the club, but it's a shame that another iconic junior football ground is being consigned to the history books.
  4. West Region Reconstruction?? Again

Making it an outright elimination saves one match day. The majority of clubs wanted to keep the sectional as the "meaningless matches" are all (relatively) local derbies and it's doubtful it would get passed. Personally I would rather see the league start immediately, and have a straight knockout cup at the end of the season.

  6. Darvel Juniors 2018/19

Different Darren Miller to the one who played CH for Meadow last season, but pretty sure it's the same Darren Miller that scored for Meadow against Hurlford United in the 2014 junior cup semi-final. Don't know whether he wants to or not, but he's definitely good enough.
  7. Darvel Juniors 2018/19

At least two of the CP players (Ferguson and Higgins) were playing in the junior Super Premier last season and Darren Miller was starting for Meadow not that long ago. Any of them would be good additions to a Championship side IMHO. The three of them were the main difference in tonight's Ammie semi-final, although CP's 6 and 8 dominated midfield. The lad Higgins was stretchered, hopefully just precautionary and not serious.
  8. Todays score 13/4

Probably a fair appraisal. We have been reasonably consistent over six seasons, but unfortunately we are still a distance behind the consistency of Talbot. We can beat anybody on our day, but they can play below par and still grind out results. As others have said, they are the benchmark.
  9. Todays score 13/4

Apparently Lok started well, but from what I saw (I missed the first 30 mins) they looked like a side playing out the season. Ally Brown had a couple of good saves, but the Pollok keeper was by far the busier. Do you know if it was filmed, as I missed the first two goals?
  10. Todays score 13/4

Had Talbot drawn at Clydebank and then again yesterday then it might have been interesting, but to be honest do you really see them dropping seven points more than us and losing on the 27th? No? Neither do I, but one can hope. Regardless, the Hurlford players have reacted well after the disappointment of losing to Largs.
  11. West Region Premiership - relegation

As one who appreciates the rules, surely they are not officially relegated until after all games have been completed and therefore no teams can incur points deductions? But, yes, I think they arithmetically are [emoji23]
  12. West Region Championship thread 2018-19

He went straight into the Hurlford team today and scored the first two goals in a 3-0 victory over Pollok. He was only on loan at Rossvale as he was cup-tied for us in both the the Scottish and the West and we only had one league game in March.
  13. West Region Championship thread 2018-19

    Today.
  14. Maybe time to give Largs some credit?

Yes, congratulations Largs. Wasn't at today's match, but according to those who were Thistle were the better side so well done and good luck in the final.
  15. Scottish Cup semi finals. Your thoughts

Just seen a photo of Little's goal and he has a hold of a defender's shirt, although he's about four feet above him [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Hope it makes it into next week's programme [emoji102] [emoji102]
  16. Scottish Cup semi finals. Your thoughts

Millar (that was your no. 8?) was decent, but every time I watch Largs big Jamieson stands out. His partner Creag Little was solid yesterday too.
  17. Scottish Cup semi finals. Your thoughts

Yes, we have a fans mom vote after every match and Calum Watt 8 was their choice yesterday. Shouldn't be a surprise though as he was the most successful Junior Cup player on the pitch with 2 winners (and a runners-up) medals already.
  18. Scottish Cup semi finals. Your thoughts

It was a decent game for a semi first leg which are usually cagey affairs. I'd expect Largs to be stronger next week if a fit Ben Black returns. We can certainly play better than our disjoint first half performance, however I expect it to be another close run thing. I hope one team wins it though and we are not subjected to the agony of pens.
  19. Scottish Cup semi finals. Your thoughts

IMO a draw was probably a fair reflection of the game at Barrfields yesterday. Largs were easily the better side in the first half and Hurlford dominated after the break. A real game of two halves although both finished 1-1. Before the interval a towering Creag Little header was cancelled out by a sclaffed Paul McKenzie shot. In the second period Liam Caddis headed home a Sam Lidington corner and Nicky Jamieson equalised after a bout of goalmouth ping-pong. Apparently there was a handball in the leadup to the Largs equaliser, but I didn't see it myself and like I say a draw was probably a fair result. Should be a cracking second leg.
  20. Todays scores 30/3

Marc was cup-tied for both the West & the Scottish and due to both our ties with Rossvale and Clydebank going to replays has had very little game time this year. Rossvale are indeed an ideal fit. My understanding is that his loan is for a month in which time we only have more cup ties, so next Saturday will be his last game for Rossvale. @Dan - did he score yesterday?
  21. Todays scores 30/3

    Did Marc McKenzie play today?
  22. McBookie Odds 30th March

The interest in this thread is difficult to credit.
  23. LOCHEE v TALBOT...........TALBOT v LOCHEE

There will be a replay in Ayrshire regardless of the result in Dundee [emoji28]
  24. West Region Fixture Update for 23rd March

Yip, definitely got my own agenda as I'm on holiday that week and will miss the game. Interestingly, none of the other teams who have played less fixtures than Hurlford or Renfrew are scheduled for that evening, hence my query. Still maybe they were consulted and didn't fancy it. Not really looking for an explanation Kennie, as you can't be expected to answer every clown who has a personal fixture query [emoji41]
