  1. It is good to get some decent news - to date it has been a little bit doom and gloom. A big bit actually. Would happily swap that win last night for three points in the upcoming league game though. No Brandon Luke. Injured?
  2. Not quite getting the McIlduff angst. I would play Gibbons or Munro instead of McKernon, who I thought was quite disappointing on Saturday; why did he go down the tunnel when he was subbed? If O'Neill is available I guess he may come into the team instead of McLaughlin. Other than that, the team picks itself, which is probably more of a worry than anything else.
  3. O'Neill and McKernon were both watching the game on Saturday. I didn't see Kieran Gibbons though. Other than Scullion for Brandon (or is it Duke?) I can't see any changes. Even if O'Neill is fit I can't see how you can drop McLaughlin after his last two performances.
  4. Thought we did well enough yesterday after a rocky start. Really impressed with Hopkirk. Him and McGuigan could be a strong partnership. Also pleasantly surprised by Dykes who I thought is just the type of player we need. Willing to take the ball from the centre halves and able to play a forward pass. Really promising debut. And Scott Mclaughlin continues to confound me. Didn't put a foot wrong. Overall we deserved the win and were well on top in the 2nd half. Cook deserves credit for the 2nd goal , nicking it from one of Cowden's ponderous defenders, before putting in a cross one of the aforementioned slouches couldn't deal with. Their backline looked like it was running through treacle all afternoon. Real stuff starts next week though.
  5. As we all know Andy Munro has been absolutely outstanding since he joined us, which got me wondering. I knew his name before he joined, but only that. He obviously wasn't pulling up trees at Forfar or Arbroath, so what has changed??
  6. Can only echo what has been said. Confirmed what we know about the team in many ways. Very strong at the back - Buzz was superb. Shout out to Scott McLaughlin too. Shoving my words of concern about his signing firmly down my throat. Still look at the team and can't see much creativity thogugh, but we should be difficult to beat. We might be struggling for bodies for Saturday - a few looked pretty ragged at the end.
  7. I see Ryan Conroy is speaking to league 1 and 2 clubs after leaving Airdrie. Is he the missing piece of the jigsaw?
  8. Anderson would be a good signing. I’ve heard good things and he has certainly bulked up. For once a (potential) signing who is actually on the way up in their career.
  9. It would appear that the trialist who scored was Liam Scullion. Loan from Hamilton
  10. I know we were relegated last season, but I'd take back every single one of the players released. Maybe not Alan Reid. Think Kyle Johnson was on the bench for edusport or BSC at the weekend.
  11. Agree about Halleran. If there were any positives then that was it. Wouldn’t take any of the trialists. They were brutal. So bad. McMenamin has some serious work to do.
  12. Look forward to the more in depth content. And yes a few different questions wouldn't go amiss.
  13. If you add 4 or 5 first choice picks then as a squad it's OK. But if you add more squad fillers then it looks really weak.
  14. Nobody else but probably room for 5 more? Midfield looks uninspiring unfortunately. And obviously need to get some strong support up front for McGuigan.
  15. Nicki Paterson in the Albion Rovers team. Named on the team sheet as opposed to Trialist so assuming he has signed.
  16. Fez was good for us. Popular player. Wasn't surprised we let him go at the time, but things have changed recently.
  17. The rules are the rules and it appears that we have made a balls up, but I am not sure that the development fee rule was there for players moving from one league 2, part time team to another. It ends up in situations like this. Clubs can't afford to pay any transfer fee (and certainly not £10k) so they will just sign free agents, which means, unless Cowden release Swann he won't get another gig at this level. Different story if he is moving up the ladder; but he isn't and doesn't sound like he is ever likely to. Perhaps an amicable solution would be for Cowden to let him go but on the proviso they get a share of any future transfer fee, should he turn out to be a superstar. This surely applies to any player in this situation not just Swann.
  18. The statement hardly makes good, what was obviously a big mistake. Suspect/hope it is being hastily rewritten. Feel sorry for Swann, but we can’t afford to be paying transfer fees so no surprise the deal hasn’t happened.
