Club to be contacted prior to Friday to book place and Covid tracing forms to be filled out and shown prior to entry along with checking against season ticket list.  Entry is limited to season full season ticket holders and kids who are accompanied by full season ticket holders. No away fans or non season ticket holders. Last entry at 2.45pm as well.

Do Brechin have 250 season ticket holders? I'd have thought that they maybe had c100 full season ticket holders. Is that reasonable? If so it means that they would each have to bring 1.5 kids  to get to 250. How many of the 100 have 1.5 kids. And even if they do, would the kids want to go to the game (my child hates football for example). Am I missing something? By restricting to season tickets how are they going to get to 250?

  2. It'd be a fair question if they weren't trying to go a full season unbeaten. It'd also be a wee bit disrespectful to the other clubs with their own targets if they played a 'weakened' side. Coincidentally an argument against the colts, if they did the same in SLFL.

Take a step back and think about what you’ve said here.
  3. Let’s be clear. This is the simply the thin edge of the wedge. They have been pushing their Colts agenda for long enough around the SPFL and credit to them that they have stood firm. They then turn to the Lowland League, the paragons of virtue, the saviours of sporting integrity. And what, they’ve proved themselves to be nothing other than a plaything for the Old Firm. Are they so bloody stupid that they think this is one season only? What happens next now that they have a foot in the door? This is for nobody’s benefit other than Rangers and Celtic.

If Rangers are so keen to blood young Scottish talent then they had the perfect opportunity as they came back up the leagues. But no, even then they persisted in playing non-entities from the English leagues, and even worse, spending god knows how much, on the likes of Steve Simonsen and Jak Alnwick to sit on their bench as back up keepers. They wouldn’t even trust any of their “highly regarded” goalkeepers anywhere near their first team squad.

Absolutely fizzing about this. The pyramid can do one as far as I am concerned and hopefully the SPFL will be of the same opinion.

  4. No.  You claimed Cox wasn't a nice guy outside of football and should be viewed no different to Tiffoney.  This was disputed because Tiffoney has been convicted of a loathsome crime.  You used these articles as evidence to back up your claim.  If he has been convicted of these things then your assertion will hold some weight so was he convicted?

You’re right. Innocent till proven guilty.

I’m sure even you will get the irony of this after last night’s events.
  5. FWIW, I have never met or spoken to Tiffoney, but based on his behaviour on the field of play, and how he portrays himself in post match interviews, he comes across as a complete and utter dick. I also don’t know Cox, but again based on what I have seen of him over the years, I have a similar opinion.

My suspicion is that Tiffoney did say something akin to what is alleged, and if so he should be kicked out the club. It takes a “special” sort of person to make those comments.

As for Cox, because of his mental health issues it doesnt make it alright for him to behave the way he does on, and off, the pitch. It isn’t an excuse. Cox was on the subs bench last night. How on earth did he get involved in this when he wasn’t even on the pitch? It doesn’t condone Tiffoney but Cox does seem to go out of his way to attract confrontation.

Let’s see what the outcome of the investigation says.

Anyway, this whole incident has topped off what has been all round awful season. Like everyone I just want it over.

  6. The crux of Brechin’s defence is that due to the pandemic nobody should be relegated. So what was the point of the season? Either you commit to it or you don’t. You can’t have promotion without relegation. Wasn’t that the premise that that the ESL was built on? And didn’t Brechin themselves deride the ESL with their “This is football” tweet.

And as for the strain the fixture calendar has put on their players, I would love to know how Brechin voted when it was suggested that they cram in these additional games.

    The hypocrisy is shameful.
