  1. Ive yet to know of any teams who just wouldnt release players "in case". As long as they hand their stuff back in 99.9% Clubs release players. Still think your wrong re limiting signings per team.
  2. Exactly, think he is missing his own pount [emoji12]
  3. A lot of players are only signed to help out and arent able or willing to play every week. Its not like all these teams have 14 guys every week standing watching and not getting stripped. I wouldnt read too much into how many players are registered.
  4. My guess of Wishaw being in there now seems way off the mark. No surprise Dumbarton and Giffnock up there and now think this may well be two fighting it out at the end of the season. The new boys of St Mungo and EK got off to flyers but stuttered a bit. Giffnock boys telling me EK play nice football but wont be up the top end at end of season as not got the bottle in big games. Still think Thorn could be in the mix as the season progresses.
  5. Think most Selects are in the same boat tbh.
  6. Not surprised at the score, but, "should have been a lot more" surprises me.
  7. Any shocks today, favourites? Now that Colvile are taking a 'season out'? Looks an open competition this season.
  8. Never saw those results coming today, Thorn and Dunbarton skekped
  9. Two unfulfilled fixtures at this stage of a season is not good. Could this be the end??
  10. Colville unfulfilling their fixture tomorrow......
  11. Very early days indeed but teams from 1b last season sitting top and third!!! St Mungos flying unbeaten and EK rattling in the goals. Thought they would do okay but beginning to wonder if they could surprise a few
  12. Agreed. It would be fantastic if a pyramid system for the amateur Saturday afternoon could be agreed. Geographically it could be West/Central area, Lothian & Fife etc. A top league with ALL the best teams would be incredible and the leagues below it wouldn't be half bad either. It would require leagues to put personal self interest behind that of improving the amateur game.
  13. Disagree amateur game is dying. Hundreds of amateur teams suggest otherwise. I know we are going through a period where teams are folding more than usual but to say its dying is over the top imho
  14. There have been teams who 'allegedly' paid players and, when certain people leave with the cash, can no longer attract the same level of player. Hence they go from top dogs to folding. Im not saying it has happened on this occassion but its what is being talked about in amateur circles.
  15. Another big elephant in the room
  16. There's a big elephant in the room
  17. One of the reasons i didnt go for them was due to the rumours
  18. I saw WWW tail end of the season and was really impressed by them. Heard they had made a couple or more decent signings in the summer. Tbh I never saw Dumbarton last season so maybe unfair on them.
  19. GGPL 1. Crookston 2. Westerlands Caledonian 1. Wishaw WW 2. Thorn Central 1. Bannockburn 2. Eastfield SAFL 1. St Jos 2. Castlemilk
  20. Give the guy a break. Just on looking for players.
  21. Im not sure I would go as far as, "pish" tbh. Poorest Colville side ive ever seen, good chance they will be facing relegation this season IF they keep going. EK were not much better. Some real heavy players for a Junior outfit. Not sure the standard of their league so cant say where they would sit in it. I can only say they would struggle against most decent ammy teams.
