The best solution would have been a north east superleague but that seems to have stalled/died.
In a world where we don't have competing licensed teams it probably doesn't matter but in 5 years time anyone playing certain teams in the last month have a 12 point head start

The problem with the size of the league is partly the potential for late finishes but for me it's more that by the time you get to May many teams have chucked it.

As embarrassing as some of their reactions have been, not foreseeing the possibility that they may not react kindly to this now they're an opposition party again or having a plan for it suggests someone who is genuinely incapable of taking a long term view or seeing the consequences of their actions, which is not exactly a desirable quality in a leader. Just as with the council tax freeze, doing it is one issue but the way he's gone about doing it is simply idiotic.
He's always had a reputation for incompetence arising from previous ministerial posts, but this level of sheer naivety is something else.

There's no need for the SNP to now be making any real concessions to anyone now.
The Green's decision to vote no to Humza was a foot stamping reaction to the individual. They know full well that in a general election they would be back to one or two MSPs when Labour pick up more constituencies as the SNP sweep the lists.
Even if it was Kate Forbes the best they will manage is abstention.

Kicking out the Greens was always a safe bet purely in terms of an SNP administration. Alba, Greens and Tories won't bring the govt down as they, and the SNP, would be the big losers from any general election.
It also meant HY was never going to be able to lead the parliament.
I wonder if he has been counselled to do this by people in the party who knew exactly that.
I dont think people knew how unpopular he really was until the WM campaigning started in Feb/March.
No wonder his cabinet colleagues were banging the the table when he made the announcement.
That or he is just an absolute simpleton.

Camped in the valley on the other side, before taking on being na lap in the morning. A nice walk along loch Ossian, before getting the train back to the other end at corrour.
I had a minor freak out coming upon that loch in the thickest mist I have ever walked in, I was almost in the loch before I noticed it. The wind was so strong that there were huge waves coming towards the shore and because of the mist you couldn't see the other side which gave the impression the water went on forever.
I thought I had somehow come to the edge of the world half way up a munro.
I have a strong suspicion I didn't actually summit SCS but I won't be rushing back.

The SNP ran the country with nowhere near a majority at Holyrood for four years. While they're now on the other side of the government cycle, offering either a compromise (e.g. Budget items) or staring down other parties who don't actually want a collapse of government and election (Greens) is entirely viable IMO.
You might be correct but his personal authority is shot.
Interesting if the Tories would actually want a general election given there is every reason to expect they could go back to 4th party status.

Maybe not but he has fucked it up spectacularly.
He has form for making impulsive decisions eg ripping up the Verity House agreement 5 minutes after signing it with COSLA by announcing the council tax freeze and not consulting his cabinet.
It's now clear he can't stay on. I imagine he will he sold sooner rather than later, if he hasn't already, that being beholden to Alba is intolerable.
Whilst the likes of Forbes might like him to own a WM defeat I think there will be enough MPs in the central belt thinking there is enough time to turn it around or the Humza effect hasn't bottomed out yet.

The much maligned Beinn Bhuidhe today along the "ugly" new access track.
Have to say I throughly enjoyed it. The track has bedded in, at least as far the hilltrack and i would believe you if you told me it had been there 50 years.
Had summit views of mountains, lochs and islands so absolutely nothing to complain about.
