  1. No worries. Shouldn't be any restrictions as far as I know, although you could tell a white lie and say there is at the McDonalds! Muirton suite under the main stand is child friendly and is for home and away fans pre match.
  2. Your best bet is to park on Strathtay Avenue or surrounding streets which is pretty much just over the road from the ground (cutting through either an old car garage or paths). Heading out, best route is to go back up Newhouse Road and head for broxden roundabout that way. There is parking at McDiarmid itself for £5, but you'll still be trying to get out if the car park well after half an hour after the game is done.
  3. Apologies, my point was more that while you have picked up points vs them, St Mirren haven't pick up as many, so you could arguably look at both of you matching each other vs them and the more likely games are the other three.
  4. Its not negligence, Rangers are wrong there, you guys need to play there every week so why would it be in Dundee's interest not have have a decent enough surface. But as you say, decisions have clearly been taken to prioritise the team over the pitch and accepting I'm sure no one at the club thought the pitch would end up as bad as it did, it was a conscious decision taken. You guys could arguably get away with it this season, but unless measurable works done in summer the SPFL will throw the book at Dundee. As you say, most clubs have the same decision to take. Facilities, be it pitches, stands etc up snd down the county are massively sub standard and with little finances to deal with them you can see it all getting worse each season. Hearts and Hibs arguably the only ones able and actively investing in stadium and team. If I was at the SPFL, I'd be drawing up minimum standards rules that make provisions for alternatives for each team if you end up with unrepairable ongoing problems during a season. Such as each team having an alternative ground in the same way international sides have to have in place. I'd also bake in a week's break between game 33 and the post split to make sure all games can be played.
  5. To be fair, we are all laughing with and at you. Most sane people get that the pitch is goosed and there isn't much that can be done mid season, but equally, probably fair to say Dundee has to take some blame for under investment in it over the years. All outweighed by the grenade of hilarity its caused from the outrage from 'the people'.
  6. Mitov has been a pretty decent signing and if we do end up losing him in the Summer, it will be for c£500k max. Depending on how he has recovered, Sinclair could probably just slot in and we'd not see a massive drop in quality. Sidibeh is a more interesting one. He's had an unusual route to senior football and a bit if a victim of circumstance. If he keeps scoring and developing, we could have a gem there, but I doubt would ever make us serious money due to his age. On this game itself, I expect Killie to be the better side, but I'm not sure how offensive they will be as while a win would put them 8 clear prior to split a point would still given then a nice cushion. Given the 2 Glasgow games they will have, arguably, only 9 points to play for (realistically) post split, so McInnes might want to play it safe. For Saints, a point, would put us 5 clear of County probably and would that be enough? Likely not given they'll probably beat Livi and we do not want a County v Saints head to head for safety. You'd like to think then Levein will be relatively offensive to get the 7 point gap to County, which might just see us safe. Will be interesting to see if we do indeed go for it or whether Levein reverts to type. Either way, expect to see a lot of balls put in behind as quickly as possible for Sidibeh to chase, which if a wet pitch, will not work that well.
  7. Praying for heavy rain in the North and games in Dingwall and Aberdeen both postponed this weekend. The foaming at mouths would be a joy to see.
  8. What the whole situation shows is that those in charge of the game here have made an absolute hash of VAR. The technology used in the right way isn't a problem as such. Ironically, offside is one of these black and white calls and we still manage to make it as complicated and grey as possible. Conflating two hot topics here, but if we rightly want Dundee to be held responsible for not being able to provide a key tool for the game (pitch), we should expect the same from the authorities (VAR).
  9. Utterly glorious. Throw in Aberdeen's VAR statement and it is a day of peak Scottish football. If Dundee wanted to up it, they'd be out training on the pitch now in the background to the reports of the pitch being unplayable on sky.
  10. Game gets to half time and then is called off due to floodlight and VAR system failure. Dundee then wouldn't need to refund fans. Throw in a couple of non serious injuries and the Rangers bus breaking down and we have it all.
  11. To be fair, if the 2nd pitch inspection results in the game being called off and fans have set off from wherever, then, as much as it is a major inconvenience, its not going to come as an entire shock. There should be no one setting off for this game 100% convinced it should be on and so if you are going to be at great expense to do so, then maybe give the game a miss. In that case, at worst, you have lost the price of the ticket. If you do decide to incur a big cost, then don't moan if it is called off later in the day. Its a nonsense, but it is what it is and no one is unawares.
  12. You'd have to have something to put in that brown envelope first though. IOU's don't count. I'm all for you guys getting this built and think it would be a good thing for all of Scottish football if there is better facilities. To me, pretty much everything flagged is nonsense and probably easy enough to resolve, but if nothing else, these groups can quite materially hold these sort of developments up. As much as it sounds like the club have done a lot of hard work in terms of speeaking to the right people and heading off as many issues as possible, if there is more red tape and delays put in place, how long can the club lose millions each year and stuck in appeals/consultations etc, before the owners give up? Not trolling as nothing to date would suggest they'd give up, but people can only stick at something for so long before patience wears off, which is what I suspect the civic group are banking on.
  13. Personally, I'd always want away fans in the North stand, but as others have said, the main is opened first as it has the disabled facilities and as it needs to be open anyway, it's more cost effective. Saints ask each club for an expected travelling support and if <c900 is communicated, then main only. More and it is main plus North. Suspect Killie indicated that it would be 1,000ish, so Saints will have decided to sell main first and do as they have done, open the North after that. Tbh, I doubt Killie will sell that much more, so might only be a few fans in the North anyway. I'd expect that in any upgrades of McDiarmid, will incorporate a disabled section in North stand, but as it stands, it's not currently needed.
  14. I'd assume as he is still a sitting MP it would still need to be investigated. He was standing down at GE anyway, so I'd imagine at this late stage, they'll softly let him see out the next few months, rather than do anything that might cause a by-election. Even if he left tomorrow, you are talking June at earliest for a by election and then parliament would shut down a few weeks later for Summer. If no GE called by then, you'd probably get a month or two at best post summer before it is called. Financially pointless to run the cost of a by election for say 60-80 days of parliament sitting max. Wragg is more stupid that anything else, but just another indication of the low quality in parliament at the moment. Any punter would see the red flags and if you are a sitting MP, you should be even more alert.
  15. Exactly this. It was McCoist who said he'd be breaking the law, so if it isn't those kind of songs, what was he referring to? Hating on disabled folk, trans? He knows he meant religion, we know and so does Tom English. Pretty sure the rangers fans will have non sectarian party tunes Would love McCoist to try and sue him and have to disclose in court what HE thought would mean he would fall foul of the new law. Unrelated to above, but in terms of bad 'journalisim' Alan Preston on radio didn't notice Sidibeh had gone off and was replaced by Kimpioka for final 10 mins. Kept shouting how well Sidibeh was doing well to chase ball etc. Impressive work from bench.
  16. If we win and Livi lose, then we are safe from the automotive drop. Don't think anyone thought we'd be doing that pre split when Levein was appointed, so would be quite an achievement. Would likely put us 7 clear of County too. That in itself could possibly be enough. Even if not, that 4 point cushion is massive.
  17. Thought saints, like last week, were decent, but still never convincing. Both games similar in that either team winning would feel that they maybe sneaked it and the losing team a bit unlucky. That said, Hibs look lacking in hunger and weak in defence. Mitov got lucky when he came rushing out, but was immense other than that. Thought Adama was brilliant too, but maybe needs to learn to roll with the physicality and not go down all the time. Makes a big difference having competent strikers and teams will, for once, maybe need to adjust slightly due to the pace.
  18. That's what I mean. The problem bits before have always been more towards the south east corner.
  19. Think you guys are in no position to make comment on any other team pitch tbh. Especially not one that you may well end up having to use as yours is so poor. Motherwell are the big loosers here. Game get postponed then they obviously need to fit it in. Game goes ahead, they have had their prep messed up and less fans. Dundee seem to somehow always make an arse of things. Best season in a long time and still make themselves look amateurish. Also, not sure the club can blame factors outside dens. That bit where the ball doesn't bounce is to my memory, not the area they have historically had issues and looks to have just had loads of sand thrown on it for weeks/months.
  20. MacPherson has not been offered a new contract, yet.
  21. Was this not in some way linked to McReddie (Eddie?) Being transfered to Chelsea a season or two before? I'm sure as part of the deal (signed from east stirling), Chelsea had agreed to play shire at firs Park (they honoured that part), but there was to be a return game in London, which Chelsea didn't honour. Sure East Stirling cheekily demanded Chelsea play them at Stamford Bridge a few years back! Wonder if somehow this game was either part of that tour or even a similar agreement for another player.
  22. Glossing over Dr Noddles at the scot foam () there could actually be a potential that Dundee could still do pre and post match hospitality at Dens and folk just wander over the road and take seats. Not up to speed with what the actual problem with the pitch is, but is it even something that could be sorted over the summer? Is there not something more fundamental going on in the wider area as, while it has always been soggy (especially in the south east corner) I don't remember it being that bad. Would it be worth Dundee putting down an astro pitch that could be rolled up after stadium move and used elsewhere?
  23. Utter batshit mental that she'd even have the brass neck to cite international law and countries following or not following it. It would not surprise me if she suggested moving the gaza people to Rwanda.
  24. Don't know if it would be a factor in the compromise for Dundee, but having to move the game to your city rivals is probably bad enough, but if the arguments previously were the localised weather, moving it a couple of hundred yards up the road undermines that argument and spfl would level (rightly) the argument that Dundee haven't invested enough on the pitch. Moving the game(s) to Perth would at least given them the 'out' that Dundee has had worse weather. FWIW, I think both games will be at the Scot foam.
