  1. Irony is that those far right tubes are the first ones that would turn and run. You see that with their marches, first sign of agro, they do that stupid dancing and then Bolt as soon as they actually think they will get hit. On the whole 'war footing' interestingly, I heard a former soldier a few weeks back who was saying he was one of the reservists counted by the govt. Was saying his knees were gone, could barely walk and had severe mental health problems, but him like others were still counted as they were former military.
  2. Well, there is every possibility they'd get him. Levein and Kirk have paid zero attention to any of the youth players that have been out on loan or in the under age set up. Fran is the only one they'd have any reasonable knowledge on.
  3. I think the genuine answer is that the linesmen will be guessing if it is thst close. The rule is still that level is onside and on VAR, my understanding is that if the lines cross, it should be onside. Someone will probably tell me I'm wrong on that. I think when you get down to the essence of what the offside law was introduced for, it has become a total farce. Is an inch and advantage when you are 40-50 yards from goal? No. You can also see players now deliberately making a meal of minimal contact to draw attention to challenges in the hope that VAR will see something they didn't even feel. If/when a team loses a title or gets relegated, they will easily be able to point to VAR decisions that went against them as to reasons they lose out and others gained and then integrity has gone.
  4. The whole purpose of VAR is to cut of the obvious mistakes. By that very definition, no one should be coming away from a game questioning a right or wrong call. While I get offside can be a black or white decision on paper and in the VAR room, there has to be space for some subjective interpretation or not. Take the example where a player is off my a couple of inches and then scores. If the player just evades a tackle of a player getting to them, then fine, but if they get the ball miles ahead of a defender and it is very marginal, then don't chalk it off. Can be treated much like the whole red card for a last man foul debate. Offside if the defender could have got there, then chalk it off. Offside where defender would have never got there had it been marginally onside ,let the goal stand. I'd say, at a game, fans can tell in 95%+ of scenarios as to whether an offside is right or not and it is those 5% you just cannot tell it should be used for. If we cannot apply common sense to the decisions, then the game is gone. The beauty of football is the instant reactions. If I'm honest, I only celebrate at 80% capacity for goals now and I suspect most are the same. I'm not anti VAR and do still genuinely think it has a place, but I am anti how we apply it. The big Big test will be when a relegation or title is decided on a wrong call. If there is a massive cook up, then the powers thst be will have to react. For me, the perfect VAR is limited to, ball over goal line, is a foul inside or outside the box and something like an elbow that a ref genuinely missed.
  5. Any spawn of Jacob R-M is far far more terrifying. Can you imagine 20 years time when there is multiples of him trying to influence politics in the UK?
  6. Ha ha, well, you could argue that the world going a bit mental is a good time to get these stories out, so to flip it the other way, Iran-Israel lobbing bombs at each other is as good a time as any to get some bad news out. Always find the conspires about folk thinking big events like Covid, extreme weather, wars, St Johnstone winning doubles etc are caused by some dark forces or governments controlling things. We cannot get anything to work in the UK and so if we had even tried to influence things, we'd just f**k it up.
  7. Sorry, but the shifting the discussion onto sick people is a nice little diversion tactic from Rishi to create headlines. Have the media really already moved on from a story of a sitting MP being essentially kidnapped for ransom within 36 hours?? I mean, I know we live in Batshit crazy times when it comes to politics, but if you pause for a moment, that is quite staggering that there isnt massive investigations as to who these people were and why? Megan Markle farts in the bath and the Daily Mail claim she is causing icebergs to melt, surely this story doesn't just drop down the news? If this happened in Columbia you might half ignore it, but a sitting MP from the governing party has been kidnapped in the last few months and the PM is talking policy (cuntish policy, yes), but still policy. Mental.
  8. Will be interesting to see what kind of a difference this makes to the crowd. Should bring folk out, but if you haven't been for a while, you'd be regretting buying both after the first game!
  9. I think Livi might end up being key here. In a way, them having County first is the best outcome for us, as either they still think they can drag themselves off the bottom (they cannot) and go for it vs County and pick something up, or a failure to win means they are gone and players down tools by the time we play them. Probably need 3 minimum from those first 2 games though. Worry is thst we played Hibs recently and we only have one tactic, so they'll be aware and Aberdeen will be trying to impress new manager. Not inconceivable we go into that County game being 5 behind and they could consign us to the playoff that day.
  10. So he has no real value then? I'm sure if he is there, Levein must discuss players with him, if not the actual players, he must be giving Gus a list and he then sees who is available and whose not.
  11. They'll claim Belgium is full of woke lefties trying to silence them. In other news, Liz Truss showing she is mental again this week. That anyone is trying to re write history of her period in power is staggering.
  12. Yeah, I'd be pretty certain that there is rough plans for either eventuality. Some might be more thought through than others, such as actual identified players and others will be more broad brush as in CD aged 25-29 for example. If we didn't have something resembling signing plans, there is zero point in Gus being there. Its not inexperienced guys there now and while there is uncertainty all over the place, it is inconceivable there isn't some prep on going.
  13. I'd be amazed if this game is moved. If so, unless there is some serious sitting water on the pitch, it was always going to be shifted and SPFL were paying lip service to the pitch inspection.
  14. If you look from the pitch towards the main stand at Rugby park, the last section (towards the away stand) is missing the front section and has a first aid bit. Looks like in the past it maybe had seats right to pitch side there, but notice it was like that in old photo too. The section in the pic here.
  15. Aye, the right hand side of the main stand. Now you mention it, I do remember you pass under the stand there. Looks like maybe at some point in the past the stand went right down to the front there. Just that I see in that pic, the front bit of stand is missing, but thought the houses were built after that.
  16. I had always assumed the cut out bit from the main stand was done at the same time as reconstruction, but clearly not. Anyone know why it was/is there? Those cherry pick cameras were always the sign of a big game. Probably stopped becoming a thing mid 90's I think. Assume reconstruction of stands and fixed camera positions was the reason or was the big view from above just not deemed necessary?
  17. I guess what we all don't know is what Levein really thinks of the squad. Either he is genuine in what he says and really doesn't see what we see as in how poor it is or (and I think more likely), he CAN see what we all see, but is using his experience to know not to lay into them as he has no choice but to rely in what he has to keep us up. It's not a stretch to think that the second (if it happens at all) that we become safe, he pretty much tells the majority of them they aren't being kept on and does actually sign 10-14 players. Keep in mind that unlike the last 2-3 seasons, we have a coach that has genuine contacts all over the place and you'd have to assume that between him and Gus MacPherson, they already have a list of signing targets for if we stay up and one for if we go down. The unknown is the owner, but you'd imagine discussions will have been had about what, if any, additional funds would be made available. Personally, I'd be looking at a change of ownership as an opportunity to bring in a younger more up and coming coach, but I do see that Levein simply cannot and will not tell the current crop how shit they actually are.
  18. I was actually wondering yesterday whether he'd get bood or not if he came on. Probably wouldn't be bood for just coming on, but that first stray pass would get a few shouts.....
  19. Totally agree. I'd actually go further, there is the majority of thst side which have pretty much downed tools and don't have enough character about them to put even the minimum effort in. That's on them and the manager. Club is culpable for allowing a squad and culture to be built up of players who frankly don't care enough about the club to put the effort in. Journeymen, end or career and never will be's that are coasting. On the flip, Killie were better in every department.
  20. No worries. Shouldn't be any restrictions as far as I know, although you could tell a white lie and say there is at the McDonalds! Muirton suite under the main stand is child friendly and is for home and away fans pre match.
  21. Your best bet is to park on Strathtay Avenue or surrounding streets which is pretty much just over the road from the ground (cutting through either an old car garage or paths). Heading out, best route is to go back up Newhouse Road and head for broxden roundabout that way. There is parking at McDiarmid itself for £5, but you'll still be trying to get out if the car park well after half an hour after the game is done.
