  1. Hopefully our season doesn't just fizzle out. We've not really laid a glove on Celtic or Rangers this season, will likely need to go to Tynecastle and Dens, and McInnes seems to have Robinson's number. So, I'm not overly confident of picking up a lot of points.

Nothing will take away from it being another excellent season, but I'm not going to lie I'll be a bit passed off if Dundee end up above us.

No piece of technology is ever going to be 100% perfect, there are always going to be false positives and true negatives. The cameras are not continuous, so even if you up the frame rate you are never going to be absolutely certain on anything.

Which is one of the reasons why spending 3/4 mins to judge that a player is off by a couple of centimetres, is a nonsense.

Does anyone still wear Sambas other than when playing 5 a side football?

ETA - just seen the pair a Sunak was wearing.  Apologies to any Samba wearers out there.  I was thinking of Samba Super.

Samba Supers are great. In the days I was a Sub Club regular they were definitely the best trainers to withstand numerous nights out there.

Also good trainers for the weather in Scotland.

  4. Having now seen the lines there's a little bit of me that thinks, fair play to the VAR officials who called it correctly without the lines.

I'm not convinced they could do so with any real certainty though. With the naked eye he does look, just, offside but we've seen a lot of decisions that with the naked eye seem one way or the other, only for the VAR lines to contradict.

We had a shout for a goal against Dundee that, with the naked eye seemed (at least to me) to have crossed the line. We were told then that there wasn't enough evidence to overrule the onfield decision - which is the right call in the circumstances. Seems they've changed that for this decision.

    Nope, not for me.

If we insist of blowing an eye-watering wage on a keeper then I'd rather we tried to throw it at someone Luke Southwood  or Benjamin Siegrest.

I'd be wary of giving a high wage to a guy that hasn't kicked a ball in two years.

I wonder if Robinson and Langfield feel that Urminsky is ready to stake a claim for the number 1 spot. Surely he doesn't want to be a number 2 all his days.

Anyone from relegated Ferranti Thistle worth a Top 6 regular, European sniffing club like ours having a look at? Or is that the kind of thing both Hearts & Hibs will be all over like flies round a shite?

I'd have taken Penrice but Hearts have already got him signed up.

Tete Yengi is another but I think we're well covered up front and I'm not sure that he's better than what we have.

  7. From last season we lost;

Carson, Main, Shaughnessy, Gallagher, Tait. Who were all first team players - albeit only the first 2 were definite starters throughout the whole season.

I'm still hopeful that we'll see Gogic, Hemming and Kwon next season, but I'm pretty confident that Robinson will have decent replacements lined up for those leaving.

Aye, that "fact" about Gullis has been widely debunked as myth. He's skint, as are lot of the 2015/17/19 Tory intake, which is cited as big part of the reason a lot of Tory backbenchers are desperate to go to Dec/Jan before a GE is called.

I did a quick Google search as it seemed a lot for a moron like him to have made in that time, and all I could find was one tweet saying it.

He'll be out on his arse at the next election thankfully, I wonder how easy he'll find it to get back into teaching. I certainly wouldn't want him teaching kids.

  9. Many years ago when I was a student we were all tight b*****ds who'd try to a save a quid here and there for a bottle of frosty jacks.

The boys I lived with, and I, used to take turns of nicking bog roll from the uni library. Walk in with an emptyish bag, and take the big industrial, sandpaper like stuff from the dispenser and put it in our bag.

One of the lads was a bit sheepish but we eventually convinced him it was his turn. Unbeknown to him, another of his mates had lifted a book off the shelf and stuck it in the front part of his bag so it would set the alarm off as he walked out.

To be fair to the woman, she put the toilet roll back in his bag after she found the book.

Toyosi's goal yesterday. What a transformed guy he is... stronger and more clinical.

If he can improve at the same rate as this season he will be a big asset.

I really hope we kick on in the play-offs.

    Play offs?

Agree about Olusanya, his goal yesterday was excellent. He's been a really important player for us this season, every single aspect of his game has improved.

I said on the match thread that there aren't many players in the league who'd have scored that. He out muscled and out ran the Hearts defence, then a very composed finish. He almost made it look easy.

  11. I've just watched our penalty shout back, and I think there is a bit if contact on McMenamin's left leg. Whether it's enough for a foul or not is arguable but I can see now why Dallas asked the ref to review it.

It reminds me a bit of the Kyogo one against Livingston last week, insofar as there is some contact but maybe not enough for a foul. One thing's for sure though, this won't be analysed to the nth degree over the next week.

~9000 home crowds for both Galatasaray and LASK.

This is the dream for me really, get through a round or two and draw a good side, Galatasaray away must've class. I think the chances or getting to the groups finishing 5th (or even 4th) is almost nil, so just hope we can get a good trip.

All that said, finishing 5th isn't a certainty, we're not in good form and didn't do well after the split last year.
