  1. I hopeful we can hold on to Hemming, he's unlikely to be playing for Middlesbrough next season and has been playing well here. It would be good to extend his loan, or if possible bring him in permanently. I wonder if Middlesbrough would accept a sell on as the transfer fee?
  2. Not great. Hopefully Scott cam come in and hit the ground running.
  3. Seems a pretty low risk signing. Not sure when his contract is up but looks like Exeter want him off their books, so If he does well then a good chance we would keep him on for next year. If he doesn't make an impact then not much has been lost. January signings are always a bit more of a gamble as clubs arent going to let go of their good players for cheap. That means we'll always be fishing in this sort of market.
  4. Oops, obviously I didn't read it! Shame for him. Do you think he could become a regular in the next season or two? There's a real lack of youth players progressing to become regulars at St Mirren right now.
  5. What happened to Dylan Smith? Seemed to do well any time he played last season. I appreciate he's unlikely to play every week, but does Adams not fancy him, as I've hardly heard his name mentioned recently.
  6. I don't get all the negativity towards McMenamin. I think he's been a good signing. The fact that we paid a reasonable fee for him maybe some people were expecting the guy to rip the league up every game but we brought him in from a largely part time league, albeit he was full time. I'd argue he has far more good games than bad games, even his 'bad games' have been more quiet than particularly bad. He came off the bench against Kilmarnock, I think it was, and within a couple of minutes beat his man and delivered a dangerous cross, something that hadnt happened at any point in that game. He also does a lot of defensive work.
  7. Yeah, looking at the team lines there I'm inclined to agree actually.
  8. We beat Celtic at home in the cup in 2009 (I think). We're a far better team now, although so are Celtic.
  9. I agree, although i guess getting a few quid in softens the blow of having to go to Ibrox or Parkhead. I wasn't doing somersaults at the draw, but we're good at home and we've given Celtic a game almost every time we've faced them over the past couple or seasons. They're, of course, heavy favourites but we can get a result against them.
  10. I think the writing is on the wall when you publicly criticise the players so harshly. They should bin him now. I hear Troy Deeney is available.
  11. This isn't a mispronounced word, but it really pisses me off when they say 'I could care less'.
  12. What a fucking pellet. Getting pumped off a team in the league below, at home, after having a fortnight off to work on stuff. Nothing to do with the manager's preparation of course.
  13. Yeah he has. I've no idea whether we were in for him or not. But he's nearly 34 and been out the Scottish game for a few years, I'm not convinced Robinson would have been after him.
  14. Robinson already said that he'd only bring someone if they're better than what we have. He also has a tendancy to sign younger players and move guys on when they get the wrong side of 30 if they're not playing every week. Whilst I'd have been quite happy with either (or both) of Main and Greg Stewart, I'm not sure they fit the mold of what Robinson looks for.
  15. The SNP aren't the only party to tell their faithful comforting lies but it would be refreshing for at least one party to be a bit more honest, even if it cost them a few votes in the short term.
  16. I agree with the second point in here, the bar for another referendum is higher - you can argue whether that's right or wrong, but it's true. I think if support for independence became so overwhelming, then it would be impossible to ignore. The SNP themselves spoke about getting it consistently above 60% in the past. If the SNP (or a combination of pro independence parties) hit those type of numbers for a few elections on the bounce (Holyrood, Westminster, Holyrood for example) then it couldn't be ignored. Even hitting, say, c. 55% consistently would be hard to ignore. At the moment, it's pretty easy for whoever is in power at Westminster to point at the SNP's popular vote in elections as never getting over 50%. The percentage of people who voted yes in 2014 and the percentage of people who have voted for pro independence parties in elections since then has stayed pretty static - maybe increased by a couple of percentage points, and will likely go down a bit at this years election. The SNP need to be more honest with their hard core support, that independence isn't just round the corner, but that they're trying to grow support for it so it can't be ignored. But they're worried that'll lose them voted to the likes of Alba.
  17. Finished the new series, I liked it but I'm not sure how much I liked it and I can't really put my finger on why. Did anyone spot the link to previous Fargo series? Was there one?
  18. Yousaf has never struck me as someone who has particularly strong values, seems like he got into politics for the career (and maybe for a bit of fame) and picked a party on the rise. If he'd been born 10 years earlier he'd have joined the Labour Party.
  19. I've read his 'Don't Look Back in Anger' which I thoroughly enjoyed, I've been meaning to get to his other stuff. Didn't realise he had one out about 2 Tone. I'll add it to my list. Cheers.
  20. This (from the BBC site) is the only thing that would concern me about Main. Since the end of last season he's hardly kicked a ball. I've no idea what the standard in India is like but those stats are dreadful. I'm guessing he just never settled there. That said, I'd absolutely have had him back in Paisley. There will be a few centre halves who won't be relishing coming up against him again as he bullies defenders for fun.
  21. What I would say about Main, is that since leaving us he's played about half a dozen games. Whilst he'll no doubt be in brilliant shape, there's no guarantee he'll be up to speed for playing games in our league. I'd have liked to have seen him back and I'd rather he wasn't signing for a direct rival, but there's a chance that we'll see the Curtis Main from his first season with us, rather than the one we saw bullying defenders last season.
  22. Yeah, he's certainly not set the heather alight. I've got no idea about the standard of Indian football though. It must be such a massive change though, and with his family still in Scotland he maybe just never settled.
  23. He does keep himself in good shape to be fair, but I can't imagine he'll get offered much more than that anywhere. I think the reason he went to India was because no one offered him a long enough contract here, so why not head out there for a bit of a bump in wages? It's a shame for him that it hasn't worked out.
  24. Saw his name mentioned on the Motherwell thread too. I imagine he'll go to whoever offers him the longest contract as I can't see there being a massive difference in wages between all these clubs. Pretty sure his family still live in Renfrewshire, so that might come into consideration when he decides where to go.
  25. I think your first sentence is a misrepresentation of what's been said. No one's saying that it spells trouble for him, rather highlighting some obstacles he'll face in winning the election.
