  1. I've noticed we seem to have a knack of turning things round at this point in the season. Well done to the players and management team.
  2. Definitely agree about Nu Metal being a gateway to more heavier forms of metal. Slipknot's Iowa, albeit classed as Nu Metal, definitely did have a lot of heavy stuff in there, even some borderline death metal riffs. That album consumed most of my mid teen years. I'd say The Haunted definitely have that post thrash metal sort of sound with slight hints of death metal. Might give One Kill Wonder a listen later, love that album. Scandanavia certainly know how to deliver proper good metal.
  3. Tune!!!! Managed to see them at Bloodstock 2010 (the line-up that year was tremendous) with Akerfeldt on vocals, I'm sure Opeth played that year as well but I was utterly burst for the whole duration that I can't remember much about their set. I'd love it if Peter Tägtgren returned to Bloodbath as I'm sure Akerfeldt has left...again.
  4. Entombed, Grave, Nihilist, Bloodbath, Carnage, Vomitory, Tormented. I love the Swedish scene, they just have a knack of writing straight up solid death metal.
  5. Having only really frequented the 1st Division and General forum I had no clue a thread like this existed. I'm a huge metal fan. Got into it through the Nu Metal stuff when I was about 15 and suddenly got into the more extreme metal genres (death, black etc). I remember seeing Cannibal Corpse at the ABC then a year later seeing them at Bloodstock where they recognised me by name, to say I was a bit star struck was an understatement as they are the band that got me into Death Metal. Very nice, humble and down to earth blokes. Managed to drag Pat and Paul into some random bar on Sauchiehall street away from the crowd so me and my group of friends essentially had them to ourselves to pick their brains on all things metal and life on the road. Currently I'm chomping at the bit to hear the new Immolation album. Been spinning the new Suffocation album which is quite good and listening to a lot of old school Swedish bands, can't beat that buzzsaw guitar tone.
  6. Our upstairs neighbours have recently given birth and they are committed to giving her breast milk but they to struggle to see her screaming for more during the night so they mix and match between breast and formula milk. It seems to work and she's putting on weight and seems more content.
  7. On the topic of feeding: My other half attempted to breast feed but it just wasn't working out, she felt like a failure and really couldn't stand to see our wee one clearly very hungry and not getting enough milk. We switched to formula and it was a godsend. He took to formula milk with no problems at all and thankfully we never had to try various different formulas before finding the one for him. Because she had a lot of post pregnancy issues after her section we got into a routine of just sterilising all the bottles before bed then I'd get up to make the bottle during the night and she'd feed him. We've been lucky in the sense that during the first few months he'd only really get up once for a feed then he'd go back to sleep, we can't relate to these 'sleepless nights' that people said to us as we've never had one with him. On the flipside paying nearly £10 for a tub of formula every week and forking out on a sterilising kit is a pain in the arse but needs must.
  8. Thank you Dunfermline for bringing those extra fans through to Starks a few weeks ago, not only did we give you heehaw cash we've clearly used that dosh to pinch Cardle.
  9. Surprised but very happy with this signing, never thought the likes of Cardle would even consider coming to us but clearly the lad wants to play football and I'm glad Murray and the board showed some abition in snapping him up.
  10. Was speaking to a friend of mine who is in the police who said they had 100 police officers on duty for the Celtic game as opposed to about 12 for a normal league game.
  11. Reserve game tonight been postponed to allow Craig Surgeon (groundsman) and his team time to get the pitch back in order for Saturday.
  12. Genuinely not sure if Aberdeen Cowden is being serious in this thread
  13. As for wee pictures I can only assume this is what da_no_1 got from Santa...
  14. Confirmed on Fan Talk that the rumour regarding Stevie May is... ....bollocks.
  15. The scarves are naff but I honestly couldn't care less that we're selling these or who buys them and I'd probably give even less of a toss if an opposition team went down this route.
  16. Could be that the dosh we'll get/have got so far in the lead up to the Sellick game might be going towards a new player instead of any debts? Either that or we've sold a shedload of these scarves to fund his wages
  17. Might be bollocks but thought I'd mention it. Was in the 200 club after the Hamilton game. Few guys saying we've signed Stevie May on a pre-contract for next season. If true would suspect Graham will be away in the summer.
  18. Certainly from the replies I've had it seem taking it a further step would be beneficial. Thanks for all your replies thus far guys, much appreciated
  19. All this talk about medical notes has brought back something else that was said. When the original midwife came out to visit us we naturally queried why they hadn't came out the following day when my other half was originally let out of hospital. Because of the complications she was told midwifes were required to give her an injection in her leg for 5 days to prevent blood clots. Was advised the wrong discharge date was put on the notes (these things happen so we let that slide) so they were unaware she was home. What knocked us for 6 is what she said after that...."so I see he was born vaginally". No word of a lie this was on her notes so if this has came from the hospital then this is naturally a concern and further worries us what else is on the documents regarding the birth.
  20. This was in the new maternity wing in Kirkcaldy.
  21. That's very helpful, thank you for the info There have been times she's been wanting to go through the system like a freight train and then times where she just wants an apology. She's expressed concerns about having another baby at KDY hospital but am I right in saying you don't have a choice if that's your area/town? I get what you're saying about seeking assurances from higher up until we were satisfied but would it not have been easier to just do a quick scan and then we have an answer? would the scan at that point not have possibly pre-warned staff that the baby was going to be big and that a C-Section might have been the only option or would it have been a case of knowing it was a big baby but still to try the regular delivery methods? I would have thought the scan would have shown if he was back to back, how big he was, if it was possible for a baby of that size to be delivered vaginally and/or if his size could cause any complications. I wasn't aware that small details such as us requesting a last minute scan would have been documented? with this midwife admitting she was new it would be our luck that it isn't documented. I'll have a word with my other half tonight and see if she wants to go ahead with making a complaint. She was given a leaflet about making a complaint towards the NHS but with our 8 month old starting to get the knack of rolling about we've had our hands full. Going to be bedlam when he starts walking and running about.
  22. Going by your experience do you think it was correct that we were refused a last minute scan due to fear of the baby being to big to be delivered naturally. We both felt if this was done it could have went down the planned section route. One thing I did forget to mention was the wording the midwive used when we asked this, her words were "going by feeling your tummy you're looking at an 8 pound baby and your body won't grow something it can't get rid of". The problem we have is we don't have named individuals (not that we want to point the finger at anyone in particular) and the fact it's now 8 months down the line I'm reckoning it wouldn't go any further. It will only be natural that they'll ask why we've waited this length of time. I think the final straw came when she went to see the surgeon about the possiblity of a tummy tuck, she was referred to this surgeon by her GP. He asked her "why are you here", my other half started her story about the birth only to be interrupted with "I don't care about that I want to know why you're here". I couldn't make this appointment due to work but she went with her Mum, I was fuming when she told me the way this guy was speaking to her. I think her issue is accepting that she needs to complain for the sake of others whereas she has that mindset of 'if I complain I want something that will benefit me as the outcome' ie this tummy tuck she's desperate for. I know I will sound biased but we've seen images of people with sagging skin after a section and I've never came across one as bad as this.
  23. Yeah we've had some interesting conflicting advice from midwives and hospital staff. You can definitely notice trends in how people deal with parenting ie trusting their own instincts or going by what the professionals are saying. The wife is very reluctant to believe what she's told by the midwives but this has only occured after she got out hospital. To give her credit she's been fantastic in terms of having that instinct to know what he needs and getting him into a routine feeding and napping wise. We can now time to the minute when he'll nap and when he's due his food and so far it's been spot on for the last few weeks. I know that might come across as quite anal to have everything narrowed down to times and that a childs hunger can vary but she's really thorough with him - and she refuses to give him any crap food. I suppose this will be good for him in the long run as he'll eat anything we put in front of him but it's mostly fresh fruit/veg and decent stuff for tea. Her problem is relying on Google whenever he might seem a bit under the weather, as soon as she see's some end of life illness she's convinced he's got it.
  24. As obvious as this will sound I'm assuming the reason behind this is due to transport issues on Boxing Day and that the change of fixture is to try and boost the attendance?
  25. This was in the new hospital in KDY that the baby was delivered. There's been all sorts of stories of negligence and general arsey consultants/surgeons. We were going to make a complaint but we're of the opinion nothing will be done anyway so we'd be wasting our time. I must say the build up to watching the section was more nauseating than actually seeing it. It was a very surreal experience seeing him being delivered this way.....and I never got to cut the cord
