I just hope we can keep the feel good factor going into next season!

Absolutely. In the past couple of seasons there's been Arbroath and QP going for the league and they've quickly tumbled down the table thereafter. Notable mentions to Ayr and ICT as well who have found themselves down the lower part of the league having spent time challenging for the playoffs in seasons gone by. Only Partick seem to be a team consistently up there in the top 4. Hopefully the additional revenue from finishing 2nd and the experience of being in a title fight can give the club a boost to crack on and see what we can do. Obviously nothing is decided yet on what league we'll be in but should we end up playing Championship football next season it's going to be another b*****d of a league to get out of - Dunfermline, Falkirk, potentially Partick, Airdrie and who knows maybe a surprise package from another team could make for yet another hugely competitive campaign.

Retro hats? Wonder if they will be like the retro strips that I paid money for two of them weeks ago and not a peep since.

They have both tops on display in the club shop, they look really nice albeit they are only display options. Doesn't look like the stock has arrived yet. I've held off pre-ordering until they come into the shop as I've no idea what size to plump for so would rather see them in person.

  3. It would give me the upmost pleasure if we met Airdrie in the playoffs and got our act together and papped them out. We got the ICT and Dunfermline at East End hoodoo off our backs this season and instead inherited Airdrie-fooking-onians as our new bogey team. They've been a monumental pain in the arse in our games and have been absolutely the best footballing team I've seen us play this season. Tactically McCabe has schooled Murray time and time again so if they get past Partick, which is totally doable, they'll fancy themselves against us. The final might be a step too far but you just never know.

There should be zero surprise at opposition fans reaction to Rovers misfortune given the shite sprayed about by your club. A wee bit more emotional intelligence in relation to self awareness and social awareness would have been advantageous.

To those Rovers fans laying the boot into Murray, give yourselves a hoover. Reality is within your grasp.

If you get upset by Twitter you need to give yourself a shake and go outside for a bit 😊

  5. Airdrie have been an annoying pain in the arse for us this season and kudos to them. They've bossed us in every game and McCabe certainly has his team well drilled and organised when they face us. I was in two minds last night about whether we were due a win against them but then I thought back to games against Dunfermline where people were saying the same and look how that panned out. Overall though last night was grim stuff.

No idea what to expect from us between now and the end of the season. We've never really faired well in the playoffs and mentally I just hope the team are up for it. I'm confident we won't throw away 2nd place so with that comes some element of financial bonuses which is a positive. If Airdrie somehow don't do a bottle job themselves they'll fancy themselves whoever they come up against. I don't exactly relish a home and away tie against them that's for sure (yes I get they'd have to get past Partick Thistle first).

  6. We were absolutely terrible today. Fair play to Utd who played that game perfectly without needing to get out of 2nd gear. Physically very good, picked up every 2nd ball and moped up everything at the the back. Just out of curiosity but did Ruddens shot hit the bar or did the keeper save it? Looked some effort.

Will be interesting to see if Utd plow on now and if we can dust ourselves down and see what happens.

Is it? Yes United could use it. They have told Raith Rovers the reason yet Barrowman says...

*United have given us an explanation, after the event, which doesn’t really carry much weight, if I’m being honest. But it’s up to them if they want to make public that excuse, let’s call it."

Quite telling that he is so enraged, so upset by it and so upset by the reason given yet he won't say what it is. He's not been shy in coming forward with any thing else so why keep that back? Is it because it wouldn't create the "rage" against United & the "their against us" feelings.

    Luigi Capuano states..

"We’ve spoken to all the relevant stakeholders involved trying to find solutions. There weren’t any. So we had to make a difficult operational decision to slightly reduce their allocation."

So there has been some issues that have come up. Who are the relevant stakeholders? United, Raith, Council for H&S, Police, fans groups, who else? Having said that I too would like United to come out & give the reason and stop the nonsense stone dead.

"it's up to them if they want to make public that excuse" - is basically the operational narrative that Luigi eventually came out with. Barrowman made his comments before Luigi came out with his. I don't think Barrowman/Rovers have been told anything other than what Luigi has said publically. If anything Barrowmans comments has probably pushed Luigi to come out and tell everyone the reason as by that point Utd weren't exactly being forthcoming with why the allocation had been reduced.

If you are up early enough (say 1.30 ish) park on Stathmartine Road/Moncur Crescent/Dens Road.  You will be near the end for away fans

If you can get in Frews bar, it is a real football pub with a decent pint (but the owner Jimmy can be funny about away fans sometimes) then you will be fine, but there a few other pubs nearby.   It is 5 mins to the ground.

I'd seen in the ICT match thread about a decent sized free car park on Catherine Street, is that an option as well?

Uniteds explanation well, isn't an explanation. According to United Raith know the reason why allocation has been cut. Why don't Raith then come out and tell their fans the reason? Seeing as it is Raith fans that are missing out Or does the narrative that United are "rattled" suit Raith?

Yon Luigi boy came out with the reason. I'd guess this is the reason we were told as well.

I still think more Raith tickets will be made available and I hope that happens. I'm not sure what United's reasons are for not allocating more at this time.

Our CEO is in The Courier saying we've been told the reason (he doesn't elaborate other than he does not feel the reason hold any weight) and he doesn't envisage any good news on additional tickets becoming available. The sections of the shed being closed are the section nearest the home fans and the first 5 rows of the whole stand. I would suspect Utd's reasoning they've given the Rovers is for security reasons albeit doesn't seem to effect the erse cheeks and/or any other club when they play Utd.

Seems to suggest the "police decision" talk coming from some United fans is nonsense.  If anything, this has me more convinced that it's just United being petty.

Murrays also in The Daily Record peddling the 'rattled' line.

Edit: You can also knock on the head it being any form of police decision seeing as there's no issues when Rangers and Celtic come to Tannadice getting full stand. So aye, Utd just being petty by looks of it.

McGlynn never seemed too keen on Dick. I think I remember him admitting at some point he was his 3rd choice signing in terms of left backs that summer. I’m surprised though you we’re seemingly never in for Jamie Gullan, McGlynn was always a big fan, not sure off hand how long his loan term is at Dundalk.

He's not on loan at Dundalk.

Surely should have been easy enough for United to say "Following discussions with police and stewards, we have taken the decision to not sell tickets for the front section of the Carling Stand. This area will be roped off for safety reasons and any fans attempting to sit in this section will be removed" or something. Seems an easy out.

Spot on. I get they don't have to give a reason however it would be nice if they did.
