  1. A blow for sure losing Smith, he had a quality and energy that was above what we had. saying that, he did play in games were we didn’t register a shot at goal and could go missing for periods in games. disappointed to lose him and I doubt we will see any true quality coming in to replace him at this point. Moffat, McKenzie McCowan, Walsh and Chalmers could all play in and around where he does and with potentially Wright coming back it might see a change of formation. bad but not terrible news
  2. Stevie Woods was at a wedding I was at, He turned up at the reception as he was playing (unused sub probably) in the afternoon. He was in the queue for the buffet behind me. I turned and nodded to his plate and said, careful you don't drop that. He didn't find it funny, asking me who I played for, asked who I supported, I told him I was an Ayr fan and he said they were shite, he was asked to sign for them and said he'd rather quit than play for that shite....kept coming over periodically to make wee digs. i was embarrassed for him more than anything. I met Tomas Ujfalusi in a sushi restaurant in Prague with a Czech supermodel he was dating, he asked me if I was Irish and I said no, Scottish he said Ah Scotland hahaha! and raised his glass of water at me. Hard to tell if he was a p***k or not. Every other footballer I have met has been on media trained mode and been pleasant but standoffish
  3. Draw was fair, two well worked, badly defended goals and two goals out of absolutely nothing. Pretty good game, end to end and plenty of chances. Could have finished 6 each.
  4. How many goals are we going to concede because Baird has lost his man?
  5. I meant specifically his attempts to get in to Westminster, with UKIP and then the Brexit party where he was just ripping people off for donations and then didn’t stand. The only people seemingly blind to it were his hardcore supporters. I suspect that Salmond will be the same, not in terms of fleecing knuckle draggers but in being supported by a hardcore that won’t be enough to get him back in the big time. His support will be mostly Wings readers and those folk that were smashing up Tunnocks tea cakes
  6. I liked Alex Salmond, When he joined RT he lost any chance to be a credible politician any longer. That was before....well.....you know. His name legally is clear, his professional and personal credibility is shot to tatters but there will be a chunk of non-“SNP cult” I believe they are called, Nationalist but not party faithful that will vote for him. I doubt it will be enough to get him a seat. I think this will go the same way as Farage and Galloway, embarrassing results that kill their political career reinvent.
  7. Haven't seen the game from last night or any highlights but he was described as special by black and white TV must have made some impression as a sub last night. Game was dead when he came on and I don’t think anything of note happened at all from him or anyone else by that point so hard to judge him.
  8. While last night was hard to judge, we looked a different team going forward in the second half. Ndaba gets us higher up the pitch quicker because he is able to pick a pass better than the other centre half’s. I’d be more inclined to play Miller at the back and keep Muirhead in midfield and see if he can do the same. it looked like a kick to the back of the leg he took so hopefully he’ll be ok but if he is 50/50 I am not sure rushing him back on Astroturf would be a good idea when we have 3 others available to play there
  9. Surprised Roscoe isn't getting a start tonight, Miller is obviously a straight swap for Muirhead but with the lack of action you would have thought he'd have given him some game time.
  10. It could be training, management, scouting doing their homework on the person as well as the player or a clique in the dressing room. Seems odd that so many signings have been woeful under Kerr but 1 or 2 are still causing issues with attitude or application. It is a different time obviously where guys will be coming to Ayr, not being able to socialise or go out much other than training but Ayr have a much higher ratio of duds to successes than any team I have seen.
  11. A lot of players just not fitting in or having attitude problems, sounds like there is something not right going on and a change of manager hasn’t fixed it.
  12. I think it will be between Dundee and Inverness for the last play-off place, Raith look to be doing what we do every year, consolidate a play-off place then try and chuck in away before clinging on to fourth. I think we will finish 6th currently. Purely because we are relying on 5 teams to drop a lot of points between now and the end of the season and in a league of 10 teams, if someone is dropping points, someone is winning them. We don't have enough games left to mount any challenge in my opinion. Beating Alloa on Saturday would all but end any outside chance of automatic relegation. But I think it may come down to the last couple of games before we are safe from the relegation play-offs. Next Saturday you have Hearts probably beating QOTS, Inverness Probably beating Arbroath and the other two games are probably anyone's guess. In terms of the promotion play-off places we would be no better off and be a game further on.
  13. Game needs a goal. This is torture, nothing interesting has happened
  14. Walsh didn't really do much against Raith last week....but Chalmers did less playing out wide. Chalmers looks like he is being used as a sitting wide player to allow Reading to get forward and if Walsh plays, Reading will be more defensive. I think we'll see both today but I think we will start with Chalmers.
  15. I think the fact that Rangers tried to enact prison yard justice will go against them. Turning cameras off and sucker punching someone, but apparently doing it in front of police and UEFA officials wasn't the brightest. I think it will come down to, he looks guilty but we can't actually prove it so we will warn the player about future conduct. My guess would be that Kamara doesn't get a ban for the punch but Roofe will get hammered for booting Kolar in the head.
  16. For the first time in months I am actually looking forward to the game tomorrow. For months there was just a feeling we would probably get pumped by whoever we were playing. Bar the usual defeat in the highlands, every game between now and the end of the season is completely wide open in terms of a result. Not playing Hearts again is a bonus as well. At the moment, I think we could pick up 14 out of 21 points between now and the end of the season.
  17. If it happened in front of a UEFA delegate, it will be in the report. Rangers said they will wait on the report before they comment. From Czech media it will be 3 weeks before it is submitted
  18. There is due process and you can’t charge someone without an investigation. If Rangers want it investigated then the player has to be involved. You can’t turn up to a court case and your witness statement is to punch the accused and run away and then have your boss on telly telling everyone your statement, and this can’t happen here. You could question why it was done together and that is up to UEFA to explain.
  19. There are a few articles in the Czech press about it. The main UEFA delegate at the game is Czech and as left it to the other members there to do the report. There is an interview with the manager doing the rounds but I don’t see it in the Czech media so I don’t know if it is true or not. But if it is true, Rangers will probably get hammered for the stuff that went on after the game.
  20. From what I have read, the UEFA delegate took Kamara and Kudela along with a representative from the clubs aside to discuss it, Kamara punched him and made off to the dressing room followed by Gerrard.
  21. Czech reaction is mixed this morning. From condemnation of Kudela and asking questions about racism in CZ to highlighting Gerrard falsely accusing players of racism in the past. Other than that, a lot of complaints about Rangers conduct on the pitch, Goldson stamping on a Slavia player before the incident and Gerrards behaviour. There isn’t a lot of people backing Kudela or saying it didn’t happen. From the Rangers TV footage, one of the players looks to be saying he called him a monkey. Man in Czech is Muz, pronounced moosh and guy is chlap with a hard c and soft h so it would be hard to say he misheard him and it was all a misunderstanding
