Was going to call this thread, That Dick Campbell Vs That Dick Bullen. But I don't think Bullen is a dick and the joke may be lost on some. Arbroath have been a bit of a bogey team for us in recent years, more so up there. 1-1 Akinyemi with a late equalizer.

They didn't have a run of games last season and looked promising which is what I posted. They have looked like passengers this season and quite rightly haven't been left to suffer in the team. -

Hewitt was a standout in the league cup games at the start of the season and then got injured, Smith was man of the match in the game against Thistle we won 3-1. -

If we lose Dipo in the summer, the rebuilding job next season will be even more difficult because we are very much a one trick pony now. To build on a 3rd-6th place finish next season will be a bigger challenge. We would need a big clear out in the summer and it doesn't look like it is happening. -

I think the balance of the squad is poor and some players have regressed in the last 18 months. We re-signed most of the ones who have got worse over the last year, most notably Houston and Reading. So that's not down to bad recruitment. He has went through two periods of playing honking football, persisted with it and it hasn't worked either time. We are transparent to play against and have very little in terms of plan B, That's also on Bullen. Young players like Smith and Hewitt, who showed promise last season have been poor this season. We have shat ourselves in every big game this season. The only positives are Akinyemi and still (at time of writing) in a play-off place. If there is a belief that he can put most of this right in the next 6 months, then I don't have a problem with keeping him on, but going beyond that, he'll have proven himself not to be capable. -

He won't be first choice, but he will be a regular. The problem with the team just now is, when one thing isn't working, we don't have another thing. If Dipo isn't getting change out of a centre half, thats us for 90 minutes. On the rare occasion we take him off, we just play the same way with a lesser player up doing his job. McKenzie is a different option and we should use him as one. -

We would probably have a better chance against the team second bottom of the premier league than trying to beat Thistle or Dundee. But we would probably shite it again anyway. -

Glad McKenzie has an extension, he’s shown he is capable despite being pissed about in terms of the positions he’s asked to play. -

I said largely as I have mentioned twice now. I haven't mentioned Akinyemi because he has been a standout. Which relates to my point. Of the 8 players brought in during the summer, Chalmers played 11 games and left Young played 11 games and left, was good in maybe half of them, scored twice Bangala, not a footballer JML, managed a good 20 min across maybe 10 games Musonda, missed 3 months of the season Kirk, Good apart from the last month Akinyemi Mullen Not exactly a list that screams success. -

I said largely poor, not that every one, to a man was shite. Young was ok I’m patches but more or less dropped out the team in December and left in January. Chalmers was only here for a matter of months as well. -

I’d class Dempsey as last seasons signing. Mullen - had a good game against Cove but his form was patchy before then, better than what we had but not a consistent performer. Kirk - Brilliant most of the season, missed a couple of months and has been below par for the last month The rest have not been upgrades at all. -

Hope has died in the majority of the support now, 7 points behind Queen’s Park and we have to play them once at home. Queen’s Park will drop more than 4 points between now and the end of the season. There is still a very realistic chance we could win the league. Since the Bangala Dundee game, it has been apparent that we are not good enough, the players we brought in during the summer were largely poor, the ones that came in at Christmas were worse and the football has been dreadful. As the weeks have gone by, more and more folk have realised this and after last night, there is so much apathy now and that is the worst thing for a football club. When folk don’t care any more. We probably won’t make the play-offs and we’ll be back next year expecting a mid-table finish after losing Akinyemi and keeping the majority of these misfits -

We kind of got back in to the game but for the majority of the second half we chased shadows and reverted to sitting deep. Same old story, 2 years of this now and it got boring a while ago. we need a change. We'll beat cove and probably Arbroath, then hope we get enough points out of the hardest fixtures to stay in a play-off place. The season had so much promise at one point and we chucked it away pissing about with a football experiment that has never worked and is shite to watch. Attendances will be down, fans will turn and we'll limp in to a summer break. -

O’Conner is better than McKenzie out wide. Cammy Kerr Vs Paddy Reading however isn’t something worth thinking about. Either we play on the front foot and push them back or we absorb pressure and catch them on the counter attack. I know which one I would prefer but I also know which one Bullen will do. -

Dundee will put us under pressure because of players like McMullen and McCowan, They also cause us problems with their full backs getting forward so we will probably spend a lot of time without the ball. When we do get it, we shouldn't punt it long. I wouldn't start with O'Conner or JML, maybe play McKenzie and Ashford to play in midfield to help protect the full backs. Unless we can keep the ball and pass it round Dundee but we have only managed that against Cove once and Hamilton once.
