  1. Expected fire and brimstone on and off the park from Kilwinning but actually it was very civilised all round.

Fantastic setup and great wee day out.

Boy with the long throws should contact the Guinness book of world records.  Amazing.

  2. Berwick today reminded me of Cowden over the last few seasons.  Utter pish, just hit and hope and play for second ball.

Once Cowden cut out the unforced errors they were even more pish.  Easy win.

Good chip van though and cracking weather.  Announcer saying 502 crowd was on the mushies.  Nowhere near that and that includes a big travelling contingent.

  3. Is it true that the rules for entry to next season’s league cup are awaiting the outcome of the upcoming LL campaign to see if Cowden qualify on merit or if the invite is extended to the team finishes in nth spot in 23/24

Who was the celebrity that Poet of the Macabre claimed to have shagged some years back? Was understandably using another user name for a while but it’s crawled back from under it’s stone :)

I remember this story but don’t recall who, mainly because until a few minutes ago I forgot PotM even existed.

  5. Left at 2-0 and can’t see me coming back next season.

Two bald men fighting over a comb again today.  The entertainment is nil.

saw more fresh air swipes today than a golfer lining up a tee shot.

Felt for the old boy behind me been at pretty much every home game I have been to for the last xx years.  He is beyond the head shaking and saying how poor it is.

Berwick aren't even good, they barely had any chances and scored 4 really lucky goals. Cowdenbeath are excellent and Maurice is doing a fantastic job! Hopefully the young team have done Scottish football a favour and helped get that absolute disgrace of a stadium condemned. Merge with a junior club already ffs.

What a p***k. I'm absolutely delighted that Liam has got it so far up you that you've turned into that level of bitter mess. It couldn't be much clearer that Liam's problem is with that absolute bellend of a manager you have. While your club continues to employ the man who was sacked for racism and who is more interested in Rangers and conspiracy than your club's success, Cowdenbeath enable it and are part of the problem. You're blame shifting - complete denial about your clubs failure, and complete delusion at your kitman's babyish behaviour. Next time Buchanan swords your tinpot jobbers, I hope he blows you a lovely kiss x

What a p***k. I'm absolutely delighted that Liam has got it so far up you that you've turned into that level of bitter mess. You might remember that Liam, who is the Lowland League top scorer and netted three goals in yesterday's 4-0 demolition of tiny little Cowdenbeath, was frozen out by Maurice Ross. Perhaps Liam got a Covid jab and was no longer allowed to play? And trust me - nobody wants your season ticket. Stick it in the fucking bin where your club belongs. Next time Buchanan swords your tinpot jobbers, I hope he blows your cinema ticket a lovely kiss x

What a p***k. I'm absolutely delighted that Liam has got it so far up you that you've turned into that level of bitter mess. Nobody decent wants to play for Cowdenbeath because your club is ran disgracefully - see the absolute utter fucking tinpot behaviour of not allowing the hat-trick scorer to take the matchball. Bitter, bitter, bitter. I hope the next time that Liam Buchanan swords your tinpot jobbers, he blows your kitman a lovely kiss! x

I have to admit I did find this funny in the nicest sense

Oh no I didn’t mean that about the hospitality if I badly worded my post, it was when I read about selling hospitality that it thought this is a bit wrong if they get to keep all the gate money as well.

At least they are selling hospitality and this is an opportunity fixture to cash in.  Fair play to them.

I am sure I read on other threads that the gate is split.

  8. There are varied opinions I see but if Buchs had done his job, or even just turned up for the playoffs metaphorically and physically we might not be here.  This season.

Having said that, didn’t bother going today and there’s more and more games I am skipping regardless of venue.  Glad I went to the cinema instead today.

On the verge of offering anyone who wants it my season ticket for the rest of the season.

I thought Liam dealt with it ok, he celebrated the first goal front of his own fans, and the hat trick with the players, but I never saw him gesturing towards the crowd or the Cowden bench at any point during or after the game.

On the subject of expenses, can anyone from the club confirm that for the Lowland League Cup the gate is not split?  This was suggested on another thread, and it seems wholly unfair.

If the home club keep the gate, do Cowdenbeath even get expenses to cover the not inconsiderable cost of coach hire for the day?

It wasn’t until I saw that Berwick were marketing hospitality packages for the game which will make them more money (and why not, good luck to them) that I thought this is not right.

Even if the gate is split it wouldn’t include hospitality I wouldn’t think maybe I am wrong

  10. It was a piss take.  Let’s wait while some guy ties his boots that should have been tied already so they can have a huddle.

he must have had the longest laces in Britain it took so long to tie them.

I get your point re settled team, but we are no better than the start of the season. Edinburgh and Dalbeattie will be relegated and replaced by better teams than us. We will definitely be favourites for the drop with the current squad. We offer absolutely nothing upfront.

A fair point I was too young to really remember what the SFL was like with two big leagues but it must have been similar to where we are now.

I believe one of the reasons for them changing things was meaningless games.

Four games a season against SPFL sides is repetitive but with the leagues being small everyone has something to play for at either end.

Also in the LL the stop start nature of playing a cluster of games including midweeks then nothing for a few weeks dosn’t help things.

Having weeks off means fans find things to do and makes it easier to drift away.

Couple of good points that add to the problem of trying to keep people interested.

By early September this season was done for Cowden bar a miracle at either end whereas even in a losing team there has been something on almost every game for the last x years.  It didn’t help that the Cowden team in my opinion wasn’t a competitive team, luckily this season at least there are a couple even less competitive with frequent school level score lines.

The number of blank Saturdays does get you used to not going.  Others will say a good cup run takes care of that but from my own point of view the cups are whoopy do other than the chance of a proper big draw in the Scottish if you can get beyond Christmas which will likely never happen again.

We are like any other club fans will only return if we are winning on a regular basis.

No matter what league you are in folk come out to see a winning team.

I’m not even sure it is all about winning.  I’ve watched Cowden lose week after week for years but theres very little entertainment in any game Cowden have played this season and that is what is making me less inclined to go to matches.  A lot of the opposition are just as bad.

  14. I’ve been saying for months the issues isn’t conceding it’s scoring and I don’t see that changing.

thought Love was good today at breaking things up and he was my MOM.

Will take current league position at the end of the season and start afresh.
