  1. I've seen a lot of people turn left using the right lane on that approach. Wrong, but I suppose 75% of the traffic from the 2 lanes is going south towards Stirling. In general, that junction is dire now, got slowly worse over the last 10-15 years.
  2. On that note, Braverman making a fool of herself on the radio earlier today. She didn't even watch the whole clip. Truss is a laughing stock, but I think Braverman might be even more dangerous. https://www.independent.co.uk/tv/news/suella-braverman-gideon-falter-today-programme-b2532495.html
  3. The full 13 minute clip of the encounter between Mr Falter and the police gives a bit more context to the incident. https://news.sky.com/story/i-was-jewish-and-crossing-the-street-campaigner-criticises-outrageous-reaction-to-antisemitism-row-13120776
  4. oof: A woman who suffered brain damage after falling off a pier has failed in a £600,000 compensation bid after a judge branded her a "regular liar". https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-68789732 Short version: she was entitled to £370k after a fall, but judge found that she had exaggerated the impacts, so awarded her nothing
  5. In Devon, and not a campsite, but we stayed here in 2022 and really enjoyed it. More suitable for younger kids (ours were 8 and 4 at the time). https://www.torridgehouse.co.uk/ There are two theme parks aimed at families a bit further north on the A39.
  6. Possibly old-fashioned, but I think a manager should be living in the city (or close by), particularly if they are on a salary of 200k+. It doesn't given any sense of permanence. Goodwin was commuting, not the main reason he failed, but it didn't help. Player-wise we had the Jackie McNamara experience.
  7. Have Lennon and Richard Gordon ever been on the same radio show? Can't remember any occasion.
  8. Richard Gordon's thinking may be sound, but these are awfully nondescript suggestions. He reckons we'll find out this weekend.
  9. off to Belgium next month, had planned to go to Standard Liege vs Leuven, did the research on where to park, nearest train station etc On their ticketing website next to the game it says, "match à huis-clos"...turns out that they've to play this match behind closed doors due to problems in a game against Anderlecht earlier this season, FFS. Plan B might be Sporting Charleroi. Had really wanted to go to Anderlecht, but the dates don't work out.
  10. In a normally refereed game sans VAR I don’t think either is given as handball.
  11. If Tony Docherty can get from Dundee to Aberdeen in 45 mins on a regular basis he should be replacing Lewis Hamilton at McLaren, not Neil Warnock.
  12. The logical follow-up by Hibs is now to reward well-behaving away supports with a larger allocation, those who spend their time being morose, rather than malevolent.
  13. Who on earth does Cormack appoint if Warnock does get booted? Leven apparently doesn't want it. An ex-player to try and get a very short term-boost (Black or McLeish)? Or someone who hasn't had a sniff of a job in a long time and would take a job for 2 months (Lennon?) I wouldn't advocate for any of the above but I can't see what other direction he goes in.
  14. I agree with this. Bojan went through a severe dry spell last winter too (1 goal in 10 league matches) so I'm not sure I buy this dragging of Warnock for his lack of form.
  15. I was listening to the Private Eye podcast the other day (I know, I know) and they said that one of the few things that the Home Office has got right recently was this. Maybe the Tories deserve to get 2% of the votes in the next election, rather than 1%.
  16. If only we had someone on the board with the nous and experience to give these PR blunders a once-over before they get posted.
  17. After 20 mins of shellacking Brendan Rogers, it was mentioned on Graham Spiers' podcast this week that Peter Leven was asked to take the interim post til May. He turned it down (felt he wasn't ready) and then we ended up with Warnock.
  18. the "source" close to Geri Horner might have jumped the gun with these comments earlier: “As he has said all along, these claims are ‘nuts’. “An exhaustive investigation has been carried out and the allegations have proven to be nonsense. “Geri has been rock solid behind Christian — and his whole family is relieved and elated that it’s over. Those feelings are there but no one close to Christian feels like celebrating much after what he’s been through. “For the time being his focus is back fully on winning races.”
