  1. What would the situation be for a junior member? Our son (age 14) got a membership bought for him as a Christmas present, but no one else in the family is a member. If he was able to buy a ticket in the pre-sale, would he also be able to get one for an accompanying adult or would he have to wait for the general sale?
  2. Would be incredibly apt as that was the solution on 30th December.
  3. Out of curiosity, how many of the posters moaning about “foreign words” are using ADIEU as their opening guess?
  4. Glen Michael's cartoon cavalcade - a TV show that always took a break over the Christmas and New Year holidays, guaranteeing that anyone with a birthday at that time of year would never get their birthday wishes read out. Every year my big sister would write in and all I ever got was the generic birthday card from Glen, Paladin & Rusti.
  5. I have worked alongside a BAFTA award winning actress.
  6. No. 16 from 1975 Apologies to Zen Archer who I have just noticed already posted this one.
  7. A thread for those achievements in your life that, when carefully phrased, sound quite impressive but, on closer examination, quickly reveal themselves to be much less so. Maybe you won a prize every year at school prize giving (but it was for “good attendance”) or you won a national swimming title (but it was for breaststroke). I’ll start with… I have been published in a national periodical…
  8. I use ROUTE and SNAIL as my first two words. Uses all 5 vowels and the 5 consonants that are only worth 1 point in Scrabble, suggesting they are the most commonly used.
  9. Watching Nathan and Amye’s Dutch barn build and I’ve already called “House” on my Grand Designs bingo card. We haven’t even reached the pandemic hitting yet!
  10. Chievo had been involved in some very “creative accounting” regarding their transfer fees which ultimately led to their downfall. They were my Italian team of choice as they had some absolutely beautiful away kits over the seasons. I also enjoyed the overwhelming rage they seemed to inspire in Gabriele Marcotti on the Golazzo podcast. Less than a month before they officially announced they were going out of business, I received an email encouraging me to buy items from their store and advising me of their upcoming youth summer football camps.
  11. My run to date, with the usual caveat that the 1 @ 1 should be ignored. My strategy all but excludes the possibility of getting a 2, so I’ll settle for a modal value of 3.
  12. 1978 and the Boomtown Rats provide respite from the onslaught of Grease songs. My favourite Rats song which, IMHO, pisses all over “I don’t like Mondays”.
