  1. I wouldn't be surprised if Campbell and Imrie had a chat before Friday and came to a gentlemen's agreement over how many youth players each side was going to field. Then again, nothing surprises me. Nothing.
  2. After MASH was a clear example of trying to squeeze the last drop of blood out of one of the most successful TV shows of all time. How about Joey? I notice it didn't even get a passing mention on that Friends reunion special. Talking of special, those old enough to remember Joanie Loves Chachi can probably still taste the sick in their mouths. Although revisiting Happy Days itself makes you wonder how it ever remained successful for so long. In fact, it was pretty guff from the very beginning. Mrs Columbo was an obscene idea that collapsed accordingly.
  3. And Reece Shearsmith from a Q&A in 2017.
  4. I thought it was an excellent episode this week. Some interesting recollections on one inspiration for it as well. Steve Pemberton, apparently from a Radio Times interview 19 years ago.
  5. Tim could so easily have said to Kev, "Sorry mate, I've just asked my dad to be Best Man." It's a crap attempt at another 'hilarious' misunderstanding storyline. It's not as if he asked Steve to do it first. I guess Ken is the new Uncle Albert in Number One then. That's probably why they made such a show of the old guy's photo a few episodes back.
  6. I'm sure the comedy geniuses behind this programme have already got side-splitting material related to the Covid 19 decimation of the league. My guess is they've written a sketch about Orange Walks being cancelled.
  7. A genuine version of this probably isn't far away.
  8. Newer than the jokes in this year's one the then.
  9. Caught a surprise preview of this on Saturday night. Fans of that sort of thing will not be disappointed. I thought it was great.
  10. Just saw a teaser for all the Hogmanay shows and sure enough there was Frankie boy. Like many I haven't watched it for years. But it'll probably carry on until doomsday.
  11. Daryl was in there as well I think.
  12. I thought the episode wasn't too bad, though the sight of the gun toting Judith Grimes didn't bode well, for me anyway. I don't normally watch Talking Dead, partly because the host does my head in, but I watched it tonight to see what they had to say about where the show was going. One of the main guys (maybe the main guy these days?) explained that, aside from the three films, there would be multiple spin-offs, with multiple timelines (some overlapping, some not), different nights, different running times, things set in the past to see currently deceased characters, things set in the present, 'maybe' things set in the future, etc, etc, etc, etc. Seems strange to plan such a vast expansion at the same time as it all seems to be running out of steam. I certainly won't be watching any of those, with the possible exception of the first Rick Grimes film.
  13. Really good one again, though I thought the voice recording part of it let the plot down a little.
  14. Fantastic episode tonight. Perfectly judged in so many ways.
  15. This must surely be a sarcastic comment. I haven't watched it for years and I only watched it out of morbid curiosity for quite a few years before I stopped, simply to see how wretched it could be. It's a national embarrassment. As for the number of people listed as scriptwriters, that'll probably be because they invite contributions from anyone. Think about that for a minute. They invite contributions from far and wide and yet this, in their judgement, is the best they can come up with. It's incredible that they grind out the same guff every year, which somehow manages to get even worse as the years go on. Surely Phil Differ and Jonathan Watson must be aware of the views of people on here, who haven't been complimentary about it (other than an occasional gag) for years and years. If those two haven't take a squint at what people on Pie & Bovril have to say about it you'd have to ask why not. Whatever anybody says about this site, it's an impressive barometer of opinion throughout Scottish football and the opinion here is that there is no longer any excuse for how bad Only An Excuse is.
  16. Last episode was fairly good, highlight for me being the proper film theme getting an outing. Third season was OK on the whole, while never really hitting any heights.
  17. The penultimate episode was possibly the best of the lot. It's got my hopes up that there'll be a good finale.
  18. Certainly does going by this photo from the set. I hear they've been filming in Gourock.
  19. Last night's episode certainly went heavy on the Lebowski references. Only two episodes to go and I guess I'll make my mind up on it after those but, for me, it's been reasonable whilst also the weakest of the three seasons.
  20. Although I'm quite enjoying the new series, the third episode was a bit uninspiring. And old Ennis didn't half age rapidly over about 35 years.
  21. I thought the final episode was pretty good, though nothing special. I also thought the end let it down, similar to the Christmas one in that there are too many "Wait a minute, what about...?" aspects to the resolution. On the positive side, it had perhaps the best use of Peter Kay in a long, long time.
  22. Also, even though I had reservations about the way the end of the Christmas one was handled, I thought it was excellent. Plus the 12 Days of Christine. Love the way there are posters for them all.
  23. Probably easier to choose the ones I'm not such a big fan of, but at the moment I'd say these.
