  1. I think it’s inevitable, particularly now they have Europe confirmed, that any players leaving will be replaced. It’s never going to be as simple as Macallister, Caicedo etc. leave and Gilmour moves up a place. He’ll have to battle it out for game time like he has done this season. What will hopefully work in his favour is that it will be very difficult for them to replace the midfield players they’re likely to lose with similar quality.
  2. Has probably his best individual moment for Brighton away to Newcastle with his through ball assist, then is pretty much instantly subbed off and dropped for the next game. Hard man to please De Zerbi.
  3. Aye fair enough, I don’t know the rules well enough to quibble. Nae luck the County.
  4. The RC player had already taken his shot and missed after the overturned foul was committed.
  5. Clarke, quite rightly, will change as little as possible from the Spain game. In all likelihood if McTominay and the rest of the midfield are fit then Gilmour will have to wait for a start. An interesting one could be if McTom could play the Christie role (as the poster above mentioned) but Christie’s energetic pressing style is key for us, so I’d hate to see him miss out also. We really do have a pretty good squad in most areas now.
  6. I thought Macgregor and Gilmour were a fantastic pairing that should play together whenever possible. However, given the way the midfield 3 performed in the last camp, who do you drop out for Gilmour now? Macgregor and Mcginn are pretty much undroppable and McTom offers more of a goal threat. Tough one. A good problem to have though.
  7. I saw Guardians 3 tonight and it was a standalone film. No need to see AM3 prior, the events in it aren’t referenced at all I don’t think.
  8. My take on it was it he was playing more of a box to box role than im used to seeing him play. He was dragging Wolves midfielders out of position higher up and was getting around the edge of the box in Brighton’s attacking plays.
  9. Aye, Wolves have been laughably bad. Oor boy Billy has strolled it 2nd half against a dispirited side. Nearly topped it off with a lovely touch and hit from the edge of the box, which hit the post. With Veltman going off with what looked like a hamstring injury and Caicedo, Mac Allister and Gilmour all playing in the same side, you’d hope there’s a blueprint there for him to get a run of games now.
  10. I’ve been watching and he’s been good. Demanding the ball in tights spaces and getting forward quite well. Probably playing a bit further forward than we’re used to see him for Scotland.
  11. If there’s any truth to it it’ll be because Hickey is a better candidate for the inverted full back role than Walker. I actually think he has the potential to play for a team like Man City.
  12. I think he has tried to do that to some extent with Murrell tbf. Time will tell I suppose with Nicola Sturgeon.
  13. I can’t help but feel a little sorry for Yousaf. There were already serious doubts about his ability to excel in the job but I’m not sure there’s a politician alive that could navigate the absolute shit storm that he’s been left with. What a mess.
  14. Which podcast, out of interest? Been searching for a Scottish based one that I’m into for a while.
  15. I wouldn’t underestimate the difference having a strike partner has made. He could be frustrating earlier in the season but to be fair to him he played in a team where there tended to not be another player within 25 yards of him.
  16. The thing is, it’s really not rocket science either. We have better defenders, playing in a more suitable shape. Basic stuff. The level of the league the last wee while, that makes a big difference. To credit Hammy he signed the players but by a combination of bad luck and ineptitude he never changed the ideas he came into the job with. Ketts is clearly a manager with more experience and able to adapt.
  17. Aye watching by totally legal means when he went down he clearly had severe pain in the hip area. Just an impact issue though hopefully.
  18. I’d just like to add that this may be the perfect footballing week of my life! Being a Motherwell and Scotland fan doesn’t have many highs but really, what a superb run of results.
  19. Na, poor, disagree. Very good keeper in his day and kept Gordon out the side for a spell. Age has caught up now though, no doubt.
  20. Was gonna red dot this tbh. Poor old Marshy is a national treasure. However, spot on with prime Pirlo Goss, so you’ve been spared - you’ll be relieved to know.
