  1. Bassala Sambou is a name rumoured for new striker...na, me neither.
  2. Aye sadly Moult should be nowhere near the club in a playing capacity. I think it’s a sign that we’ve now got an adult in the room in Kettlewell that we don’t seem to be entertaining the idea. It’s hard not to be impressed by the guy so far.
  3. https://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/13166068.reid-position-pay-debt-motherwell-manager/ Here’s an article about Reid. I guess the people who play for “practically nothing” are very few and far between but maybe it’s the ones who don’t have a better offer and are looking at a short term opportunity - would be an educated guess.
  4. I think you might be slightly surprised but I guess it comes down to wording. I remember Stuart McCall talking about Craig Reid earning practically nothing outside an appearance fee. That would for all intents and purpose be a ‘pay as you play’ deal. A very small basic wage (relatively speaking) and incentives based on appearance and performance to top it up.
  5. Think it might be a left back we’re signing today. Not Furlong though.
  6. Never seen that leaflet before! Aye, no great that.
  7. I’m actually relatively pleased he’s for the off as well tbh, so not going to defend him too much after this but just a quick note on the Charles Kennedy point. I was asked to go help out in that campaign and I was specially told by Blackford and his team not to mention Kennedy’s personal issues on the doorsteps etc. I did however see some terrible stuff online from activists. Was there specific instances of Blackford harassing him that I’ve missed or is it just a case of he should have had better control of those who did abuse Kennedy?
  8. The full story is that MacNeil is a total ballon, that’s where my money is.
  9. Bit harsh? Blackford on economics is a no from me but seemed on the right side of most arguments on social issues, no? Far worse than him in the party. In saying that the Party certainly needs a refresh so can maybe see your point there. Very much doubt he’ll go to Holyrood anyway. Non exec directorships though no doubt. As for Black, she’ll be in the Scottish Parliament at some point no doubt, which is a far better place for her and for the SNP.
  10. Always thought he was a strange looking guy but that silver into black dual beard has me
  11. I’ve zero way of backing it up and no idea if it’s actually true or not, so take with a massive pinch of salt but I heard that was the pr line being pushed. However, what was actually the case was that there were mistakes made and then signed off on and money needed spent to rectify it. Either way, I suppose now it’s not really important, but it’s clear it’s costing a pretty penny.
  12. I watched the game as well. Yes Norway caused some problems and yes Spain are there to be got at. They still ran out clear winners by the end of the game though. I agree and it seems fairly obvious that Spain aren’t the team that they were but it would still be a huge surprise if they don’t finish top 2. They did just win the Nations League as well.
  13. It’s a bit of a joke really isn’t it. I mean I don’t really ask much from the club, at all, but as a bare minimum I would quite like to know who actually plays for us.
  14. My only wish with the Van Veen situation is that if he's certain to leave, which it looks he is, then I hope it's done and dusted very quickly. Be good to know what hand we're playing with asap. The stinger for me is Max Johnston. Potentially a couple of mill left on the table there with him running down his contract.
  15. Hootenanny’s at St Enoch is by no means a great pub but I quite enjoyed it for the Moldova away game there. Close to the Central station if you’re getting the train into there. If you’re getting a train to Queen’s St then head to the Ark. I’d get there early though as it gets packed.
  16. They did beat a decent Norway team reasonably comfortably 3-0 in the game before Hampden. It would be a major surprise Spain finishing 3rd and I prefer to look at the Hampden game as our tactics and performance levels beating a good if not great Spain side.
  17. Can't see it. Just signed a new deal, in the midst of some key games with a good team and he's not very...Celticy. Football's a strange old place though, I'd be greeting.
  18. Kevin Pringle is an extremely impressive appointment from Humza Yousaf. Pray that there may now be a semblance of competency every now and again if Pringle is allowed to pull the strings.
  19. Pretty sure he’s said he doesn’t want to be considered for selection.
  20. Starts against Man City. Big test for the wee man!
  21. I’m the least ITK person about but I did hear that Efford has already signed a new deal on the q.t. If so, I’d be just about fine with that I think. He had hit a wee bit of form before his injury. Re. Aitchinson…I’ve been mildly impressed by the limited amount I’ve seen of him. No idea if he’s any end product but seems a strong runner.
  22. I think it’s inevitable, particularly now they have Europe confirmed, that any players leaving will be replaced. It’s never going to be as simple as Macallister, Caicedo etc. leave and Gilmour moves up a place. He’ll have to battle it out for game time like he has done this season. What will hopefully work in his favour is that it will be very difficult for them to replace the midfield players they’re likely to lose with similar quality.
  23. Has probably his best individual moment for Brighton away to Newcastle with his through ball assist, then is pretty much instantly subbed off and dropped for the next game. Hard man to please De Zerbi.
