  1. Fuxake. Never mind hiding troops amongst civilians, conjuring that mental image should be a war crime.
  2. It varies around the country, but a lot of bars and restaurants are having to close multiple days a week as they can't get enough staff. Hotels have huge numbers of rooms blocked off as they don't have the staff to operate to capacity. Cost of living isn't the biggest problem facing hospitality.
  3. That's how most new businesses operate these days, though obviously Uber is considerably bigger than average. Tam will be delighted to hear that Deliveroo lost about £300 million last year and have yet to turn a profit. It won't be inflation and cost of living that kills these businesses though. It'll be the rising interest rates and sluggish markets that are putting an end to the McDuckian free money pits investors have been keeping topped up.
  4. Anyway, good result for Gretna yesterday. Who are folk tipping for the drop?
  5. ICT wouldn't have had a goal overturned against us if James Craigen hadn't run to the ref explaining that the corner hadn't been taken properly.
  6. What? You've talked a lot of sense in the past but this is nonsense. Someone can be ugly even if they have a perfectly decent left forearm. A league can be tinpot even if there are a handful of well run, respectable clubs in it.
  7. I think the Oxford definition is closer to how it's generally used in football: "having or showing poor leadership or organisation". Last season Vale of Leithen and Fort William were roughly equal levels of utter shite on the field, however one was far more tinpot than the other.
  8. That aspect of it, absolutely. You can definitely add Italy to that list who have a number of tinpot aspects to their game outwith and including Juventus U23s.
  9. Chucking away integrity to f**k your pyramid and benefit those who are already at an advantage is what's tinpot, be it in Spain, Armenia or Scotland.
  10. I'm fully on board with this, both as a supporter of the Gaelic language, but also to see our profile rose within the Gaelic speaking community of Glasgow.
  11. That'd be fair enough if every stadium had a Frews. There are clubs with f**k all of note surrounding them. Those are the ones which could do with pre-match facilities.
  12. I used to sell stuff over the phone and got no end of "witty" responses. One time a chap said "How about you give me your number and I'll phone you up when you're having your dinner." I gave him my genuine number and asked what we were going to chat about. Shitebag never followed through. It was a horrible job but I was actually pretty good at it. Middle-class home counties housewives were the easiest to sell to. Worst shift was when the data we had turned out to be from a children's book club and I spent all day phoning folk up asking to speak to seven year old girls.
  13. It was a lost in translation mis-order. The Twi woman who ran a guesthouse I stayed at in Ghana sold one of her dogs to an ethnic minority who eat them, pretty sure those ones aren't flayed. She hated that dog though, "If he does it again it's chop chop for Charlie!" was effectively her catchphrase until he eventually went for chop chop.
  14. I got it from the butcher and watched them cut the meat from the leg. It may not have been lion or tiger but definitely a big big cat of some flavour.
  15. Tinpottery has nothing to do with the quality of football on the pitch though. Its about how it's run, promoted, structured, attended, et cetera. The Lowland League has a huge amount of potential, the fact that it's nowhere near that is evidence of its tinpottery.
  16. I've had quite good dog, but with these things you only have once it's tough to tell how much its down to the meat and how much is down to the skill of the butcher/farmer/chef. I had lion and tiger in Mexico when I was younger. Not particularly proud of the tiger once I realised how few of them there are. Generally, carnivore mammals aren't particularly tasty.
