  1. That's Zaniolo out for the season and probably the Euros as well. Edit: and Demiral is having a knee operation tomorrow.
  2. Two knee injuries in the first half, it's about time we rid the top leagues of these grass pitches.
  3. Your birth month is what you're getting for Christmas. January: boot in the pie February: boot in the pie March: boot in the pie April: boot in the pie May: boot in the pie June: boot in the pie July: boot in the pie August: boot in the pie September: boot in the pie October: boot in the pie November: boot in the pie December: boot in the pie
  4. Firstly, because like with any activity there's a lot of people who aren't into it simply because they've never really considered doing it and for them it would be the perfect place to start. Secondly, just as even if you didn't like football you could still enjoy and appreciate an occasion like the Hibs-Sevco final on a cultural and entertainment level, it's one of the things everyone should really do if they spend any time in Lithuania. In reply to the other question (multi-quote won't work on the app) it was a 16,000 sell out. The club own the arena so make a fair packet from gigs and such too. I heard some interesting stories of Vladimir Romanov's time in charge too.
  5. Well the Zalgiris game was pretty incredible. In my top ten sporting days out for sure. Helped that there was a stunning comeback for the home team. Even if you're not into basketball I I'd recommend it.
  6. It'd been in the Italian papers most days since about October. The least surprising signing of the window for sure.
  7. Well the very act of agreeing to the date marks her out as a nutter, but the swift sussing of my deviance reveals a more intellectual side. Then again she wants to rearrange for when she returns from her home town. I think it was such complexity of personality which attracted me to her in the first place.
  8. Not sure if there's a more appropriate thread for this but I had a horrendous first date last night with the receptionist where I'm staying. We were three minutes out the door after her shift on the way to the pub when she got a phone call informing her of her grandfather's death. Honestly one of the most awkward situations of my life but thankfully managed to avoid comparing her loss to the earlier passing of Colin Weir.
  9. Got through airport security with a 125ml tube of toothpaste in my hand luggage.
  10. I've travelled to a fair few unusual destinations. Every former Soviet republic (including Transnistria, Karabakh & Abkhazia), Syria in 2011 as shit was kicking off, and I got punted from Algeria on suspicion of espionage.
  11. There's a guy in the pub wearing a t-shirt that says "beast".
  12. One of my colleagues (the one who didn't know what the Arab Spring was despite being married to a Libyan) just defended Chris Brown as Rihanna "looks like the sort that is probably asking for it". The colleague in question is herself a victim of domestic abuse. In other, more delightful, news there will be no Christmas night out this year.
  13. Also, his wife is the girl Jarvis Cocker is singing about in Common People.
  14. I remember when the Possilpark Lidl first opened. They sent their leaflet through everyone in the neighbourhood's door. That week's special offers: opera glasses, briefcases and cigar humidors.
  15. It was your cock-up for not using correct punctuation.
  16. Because the Italian incestuous old boy network is somehow even worse than the Scottish.
