It's quicker to go from Edinburgh to London by train than it is from Inverness to Wick. -
Petty Things That Get On Your Nerves...
DiegoDiego replied to well fan for life's topic in The General Nonsense Forum
Incorrect. Which is easier to calculate: £10 x 13 / 4, or £10 x 4.25? Which set is easier to compare: 13/4 & 7/3 or 4.25 & 3.33? Which are easier to plug into a spreadsheet, fractions or decimals? -

Fractional odds are for Victorians. -
The top three are from Shushi, the bottom is of Agdam, where to Azeri side FC Qarabag originally hailed from, it'll be interesting to see if they relocate to Stepanakert in the next few years. I don't really want to spam this thread with my photos, but here's a few more of interest. 1. A billboard celebrating success at the world tank biathlon championships on the road from Stepanakert to Agdam. 2. Two guys working out in Shushi. Its pretty sad to think they were more likely than most to be among the casualties. 3. Statue to a military commander from the 90's conflict. 4. Shushi cathedral, from where you can shell f**k out of Stepanakert and where the newlyweds in my previous post were standing outside. 5. Well, you can't not take a photo of a football stadium, can you. Stepanakert. 6. Inside a ruined mosque, Shushi. Note the cross carved into the pillar. 7. The family I stayed with in Stepanakert.

Do we not have enough pot holes already?

Thanks very much for that, it's as I assumed. There's not really much I can do about it now though.

Not that I'm going to do anything about this rather than let them know I'm somewhat disgruntled, but... I've been off work with covid (no symptoms, finished isolation today) and just got my pay slip this afternoon. I'm paid hourly and on a zero hour contract. My pay for the last fortnight consists of the few hours I did isolating, some furlough money and some holiday pay. I didn't request and holiday and they didn't inform me about furlough. In fact, they haven't contacted me at all since my last shift. Finally here's my quick questions: do you have to inform employees before putting them on furlough, and can an employer just use up your holiday entitlement without you requesting holiday? I'm not actually that bothered about how things have turned out (though it does amount to about half my usual pay) but I am rather ticked off that they communicated none of this to me.

I get what you mean, but to be honest there's only one thing I'm interested in here, and that's catching bent coppers! -

United is a bit of a strange one to pick, no? They lost to Morton recently and didn't exactly look world beaters against us pre-season. -

I don't think finding someone annoying is being unpatriotic. -
Worth noting to all those anti-immigration types that the founders of BioNTech are children of Turks who moved to Germany in the 1960s as gastarbeiter.
-
BioNTech and Pfizer reporting their vaccines are 90% effective. FTSE up 5.5% in half an hour. I might get back in a stadium before the end of the season followed by Hampden in the summer to see Scotland crush the Euros. Plus, this is my last day of isolation.
-
Not quite sure how you've made that link, but it's somehow both disappointing and predictable. I fear our chances of winning the title are now slim and we need some positivity and wins under our belt in order to go up through the playoffs. Early days still, but shortened seasons are a harsh mistress.

Give him four days. I thought my post was obviously facetious but to be clear I don't expect St Clair to be anywhere near the Scotland squad for a good couple of years at minimum, if ever. I did think it was interesting that they've been trying him out at right back though.
-
Although he's still struggling to break into the Venezia team I noticed that they've been playing him at right back. Still only 22, perhaps he could do a job for Scotland when Mr O'Donnell hangs up his studs?

The Partick Thistle thread
DiegoDiego replied to South Lanarkshire Jag's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
Obviously it's not mathematically a must win, but a loss today makes the prospects of automatic promotion seem pretty bleak indeed. It would actually be out of our hands after only four games. Win today though and we've a decent run of fixtures ahead. -
What are the things you hate regarding fitba?
DiegoDiego replied to Bluenortherner's topic in Misc Other Fitba Chat
Not just monosyllabic, in tonight's game all the players are referred to by their surname except for "Charlie Adam". Every single time. -
I love reading about early football history, but especially when it involves folk with names like Archie Archibaldovich.
