  1. Brian Graham is only two goals away from equalling the Thistle post-war league-goals-in-a-season record. So there's a potential silver lining of sorts if we don't get a chance to rest him.
  2. James Forrest being in the SPFL team of the week, when he didn't play in the SPFL this week.
  3. Interesting. I'm naked and live in a cave for entirely different reasons.
  4. After the chat about him on this thread I paid a bit of attention to him on Saturday. Thought he was one of Airdrie's few decent performers on the day, a lot to like about him.
  5. The fact you didn't state which Helsinki team you were referring to disqualifies you, unfortunately.
  6. I don't understand why folk do. I have updates for a couple of English teams on because I have English friends who support them and it's nice to be able to say "good/shite result the other day". Other than I have zero interest in English football. I know a little bit through osmosis and the tartan army forum, but couldn't tell you who is in the running for the Premier League title this season. Other than a few cross-border transfers, English football just has no relevance whatsoever to Partick Thistle or the wider game in Scotland which Thistle are part of. Unless I'm actually at a match, I'm not going to actively pay attention to Wolves vs Everton any more than I would Lens vs Brest. I just don't get it.
  7. The missing d and u in the spellings of fridge/refrigerator and odour/deodorant, are petty things which get on my nerves.
  8. Not sure that argument holds water. Ross County played on the 20th, 24th and 28th leading up to the final. We played on the 19th and 26th.
  9. I know you said mainly, but Albion Rovers were League 1 only five years before relegation to the Lowland.
  10. I'd like to think folk on here are slightly better adjusted than the X masses.
  11. Think you might be disappointed then. Don't think anyone really cares.
  12. It's not a football journalist, it's a graphic designer or something. The editor should definitely be picking up on such things before it goes to print though.
  13. I don't wish liquidation on them or anything, but if McGlynn took those financially irresponsible practices with him to Falkirk, I wouldn't be too unhappy.
  14. Is there any data on this effect, either in Scottish football or in general? I'd be quite interested to see if it's a significant effect or if it's just conventional wisdom like "form goes out the window in a derby" which doesn't really hold much water.
  15. That last post was a bit negative, so I'll share something that really cheered me up this week. We had a bunch of students at my work the last few days and I asked one of them I'd never spoken to before what he'd got up to the previous night. "Not much, just went to the pub and watched the football." "What football was on? Not Buckie vs Strathspey?" "I wish! Nah, it was Chelsea. The Buckie game was pay per view, but I went to the pub instead in the end." This was a young gentleman who supports St Johnstone, but now living in Aberdeen has taken a keen interest in all things lower league Grampian. It was really heartening to know there are young folk who, like me and those of you reading this, appreciate Scottish football from top to bottom. Great to be in the lowlands yet be able to chat to someone about the Highland League at length.
  16. The Lowland League and below forums have over ten times the number of posts as the north forum. If you gave the Highland League its own forum then the remnants would have about six threads with maybe ten posts a week between @GNU_Linux and @Marten with the odd other. Hardly worth it. Buckie are favourites to win the league and I don't think I've seen a single post from a Buckie fan these last few weeks. I don't think it's disrespectful at all, it just makes sense, sad as that may be.
  17. He still has near infinite options to choose from, for example continuing to shave his head, but instead he has chosen one that in many people's eyes is not pleasing to look at.
