  1. https://themortonforum.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/44320-why-do-you-hate-partick-thistle/page/9/ Will this thread be getting a bump tonight?
  2. Chelsea, Chelsea, CHELSEA! Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea.
  3. He wrote a Walter Mitty memoir despite playing no higher than the EFL, after bankrupting himself opening a London private member's club. It's no surprise he fancies himself as a Roy Keane tribute act given his career as a professional fantasist.
  4. I think we've earned the right to have some fun with our next friendly choices and rack up a scoreline against an Aruba, an Anguilla, or a Northern Ireland.
  5. We could blow France away 5-0 and Kevin Thomson will still send me to bed depressed.
  6. We're not Chorley FC being drawn away to Man Utd live on the One Show: the squad will have been plotting on shagging everyone in sight next summer as far back as that winner in Norway - and no doubt they'll do exactly that.
  7. We deserve a Fair Play award for managing to play the rest of the match without someone leathering that oily c**t.
  8. I put this to Gav from accounts at lunch and - I have to say - the stakes have been well and truly raised. "Well, I'm going to give you another name" he says. "You might laugh at me, but I'm going to give you another name." "Ray Parlour."
  9. Funnily enough, me and the lads in the office have been discussing possible replacements for the increasingly irritating Gary Neville on our once beloved Sky Sports. "I'll tell you what" I said. "Here's one for you." "Paul Merson." I was expecting to have to argue my case, but it went down an absolute treat.
  10. At least that's closer to a Scotland strip than their duff national team managed all night at Hampden.
  11. It doesn't really matter what the social media platform is or what eccentric billionaire owns it. It's an individual's responsibility to differentiate between a credible primary source and words/pictures on a screen.
  12. What was that formation Strachan went with at home to Gibraltar? Let's do that and get them fucking hounded.
  13. Going by how visibly wound up they were at Hampden, I'm hoping they go into the match with this mindset as I'm not convinced they play better with that level of emotion. Tierney was outstanding that night and will be a big miss, but given the prize of a win is qualification as group winners, I'm hoping we can replicate the same intensity of press that reduced them to a David Moyes Man United tribute act.
  14. I think a GE is too far gone, being less than a year away - that event needs to blow up in Humza's face rather than a new leader's. The next 8-12 months within the party needs to be spent ensuring that there is at least one halfway credible candidate to replace him, rather than going through another absolute nick like the last leadership election. I couldn't care less if said replacement is a self-proclaimed socialist or a God-fearing Tory: if they can prioritise the binning of pointless identity politics; uniting as broad a spectrum of pro-independence members as possible; and punting out utter incompetents from key positions of responsibility (Green coalition, Susan Aitken, many others), then we can think about maybe getting somewhere.
  15. You've got to hand it to The Lads. They love their football up there.
  16. I will be making use of my (£3,000) season ticket at The Cottage for tonight's West London derby. Partly to network with some v prestigious business contacts, but mostly in protest at Botchettino's 'tippy-tappy' nonsense poisoning our club. I can only imagine how some of the current lot would get on in one of our traditional dressing rooms; but I have a fond image of JT, Wisey and Cunders holding Cole Palmer's head down a toilet.
  17. Granted McMillan is still unavailable, but Robinson in behind Graham with McInroy/Bannigan deeper (as well as Williams on the bench) feels like we're finally close to a proper first-choice eleven. Even with McMillan I think we'd still be vulnerable to getting overrun by the likes of Arbroath and Airdrie, but the likes of Dunfermline who fancy themselves as football teams we should sword most weeks. A 3-0 home win and Greggying the subway loyal made for a fine day.
  18. I'd normally make a chilli with half beef and half pork mince. I swapped regular pork for minced chorizo today - not having a meat grinder I put the chorizo through a box grater which is a pain in the arse of a job, but the end results are spectacular.
  19. I did fear that we were in for a bit of a hiding today with our piss weak midfield, especially if Arbroath's recent form was anything resembling their 2021/22 season. They were fantastic today and that standard of performance will terrorise any team in the division whose midfield needs 3-4 touches between receiving the ball and moving it on (which is everyone). I see no reason why they can't challenge for the title if they can hit that kind of benchmark consistently. McMillan wouldn't have made too much difference to the outcome today, and to be fair to McKenzie he is standing in for the best right back in the league. But he is a massive downgrade and we can't play him there again - he can't defend, doesn't look comfortable going forward, and seems to want rid of the ball as soon as possible. I'm not convinced he's anywhere near ready for first team football at this level.
