The last four hours on Radio Scotland marks a new low in broadcasting. I’ll pay extra on my licence to have all involved sine die. -

I could see Trump starting up a rival right wing media corporation when he is eventually papped out of office. There are enough fud nuggets in the country who would pay for a subscription to listen 24/7 to his bile. -

The ALDI advert with the twat Dad going “Yum, Yum, Yum, Yum” at the thought of a pasta bake. He’s well deserving of a swift punch to the tits.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)
swiftyswifty swifty replied to ICTChris's topic in The General Nonsense Forum
It’s just another example of spin and deflection of this Government. Johnson’s big reveal about lifting the lockdown came on Thursday. The measures don’t actually come into play until Monday. Previously he has chosen to make such announcements the evening before the come into effect. Clearly and cynically the timing of this announcement was political and aimed to divert the media attention away from the behaviour of Dominic Cummings. To now learn that there are concerns from members of SAGE about the lifting of lockdown comes as no surprise to me. It staggers me that as a nation we are accepting anything coming out from this shower of liars. -

At what point do the people of this country decide they’ve had enough of this Government and Prime Minister? It says it all when a journalist asks the assembled scientists just to nod or shake their head to a question. We live in dangerous times. -

It’s little wonder Hancock and Co are laughing, they realise now that there is literally no tipping point in terms of their incompetence. If they spent half the time on actually doing their job and steering the country through a health crisis instead of constantly misleading, covering up and protecting themselves we may not be top of the global excess death league. -
Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Yet more spin and deflection from HM Government this morning. Farmfoods Assistant Manager Matt Hancock wheeled out for the morning briefings today. Test and Trace has “gone live” today, four days ahead of schedule. Not the App that was being lauded previously, it is no longer the priority. No, this is contact tracers, people paid to phone up people with positive tests and then contact all the people they have been in close proximity to What a fantastic achievement getting this in place so quickly Hancock tells us. Positively beaming on Sky News, laughing and joking like he’s just discovered a miracle cure. Mr Hancocksure. It’s almost as if Track and Trace has been rushed in a desperate bid to change the news agenda. But surely not. No responsible Government would run the risk of rushing something so vital to overcoming the spread of the virus through too quickly just to take the heat off a special adviser. Then you have Sam Coates from Sky News saying that he has been in touch with several of these new tracers and they have told him that there is no way the system is ready to start. Others have been told not to start contacting people until Monday (the initial date it was due to be launched) and more have not even been given logins to the system. Add this charade to the lies and spin over numbers of completed tests, single gloves being counted amongst the stocks of PPE, rewriting history on the policy of care homes and of course semantics over “interpretations” of lockdown guidance - it’s almost like you can’t trust this Government. -

His “performance” in this committee alone is worthy of a vote of no confidence being passed. Absolutely woeful. -

There’s a political strategy that says when your opponent is making a mistake never to interrupt them. If I were Labour I would allow the story to percolate naturally (which each Cabinet member is doing every time they try and explain/justify it) but when it begins to drop off the news agenda then Is the time to wade in with demands of resignations. If the story is still front page news this weekend it will be interesting to see if Johnson blinks. -

I’m only going to entertain one of your points as you are clearly fishing or perhaps hard of thinking. Bereaved families very much have the moral high ground in this shit show and to infer they have no shame is shameful on your part. But I suspect with your rod in your hand you know this. -

Hancock speaking about civic duty in adhering to the guidelines. These c***s have zero shame. If Hancock was made a shift manager at his local Farmfoods he would still be way out of his depth. -

Cummings is going to love this attention and pomp - an adviser doing a press conference is unheard of, in the rose garden is just weird. He thinks he is superior to us all and I’m sure he will revel in being able to spin his story. Expecting him to play to the galleries big time and produce a sob story of epic proportions. Show business for ugly people.
