  1. One thing that screams "pathetic child-like inability to deal with difference of opinion" more than red dots is the ignore function. Maybe the echo chamber of the Bankies forum is the best place for some of you?
  2. I've had significantly more red dots on this thread than well thought out responses.
  3. Another day of gO bAcK 2 tHe jUnIoRs angst I see. Not getting your own way can be hard.
  4. You'd need to ask Talbot about that.
  5. Remind me why only certain views should be represented again? There's no chance of anyone returning to the junior days so maybe it's time for people to stop parroting that line on here at every opportunity. The former Junior sides didn't sign up for the pyramid on the basis that they had to set aside their own interests and align unconditionally with a certain set of values. Every team from top to bottom in any league structure will ultimately act in their own interests above the interests of the pyramid FFS. Also, as an aside merely saying the words "progressive" and "ambitious" all the time does not endow the speaker or club they support with moral superiority or any sort of insight.
  6. Were the Donner meat pies on the menu? I hate myself for loving those wee belters.
  7. Can't really grumble about the outcome because Pollok kept going with ten men when the game was starting to look unassailable. Talbot were playing into the wind in the second half so maybe the players were drained by that but it was like someone flicked a switch after the red card and from a position of complete control and playing smartly for the conditions, we stopped playing. I didn't see the incident with the Pollok player going down in the first half but Talbot fans in earshot all thought we'd got off with one there. I fucking detest penalty shootouts. When a player misses and a retake is ordered you just know he's going to miss it again. Good luck to Pollok in the final, I'd prefer you won it to Darvel ( no harm to SBA but it's going to be them isn't it).
  8. 2-1 Pollok after 4 penalties. Talbot missed a retaken one.....
  9. Talbot 2-2 Pollok. Talbot switched off after the sending off.
  10. Red card for Pollok number four who has had a mare in the second half
  11. Just make some shite up and post it as fact then.
  12. Calling someone dumb is a bold, bold card for you to play chief. Sounds like you made the quotes up, so I'm filling them under "bullshit, made up". Lol.
  13. Game will be a lottery unless the wind dies down. Would be a lovely day if it wasn't so wild.
  14. If being fair about it, you can only compare it to crowds in the current era. It compares very well in that regard.
  15. surely his influence doesn't extend particularly far though? he's being painted as if he's taking absolute power over all decision-making when I'm assuming he only has one vote as part of a wider committee (I don't know how it's actually structured so correct me if I'm wrong).
  16. genuine question - regarding the point about too many unlicensed clubs. To use Beith as a hypothetical example because their lack of license is probably the most inconvenient from your perspective - if they continue to delay getting a license indefinitely and won the next 3 or 4 league titles, what would be your solution to this? It doesn't seem like there is any sort of penalty for not getting licensed at the moment other than missing out on the chance to be promoted. what practical "progressive" solution do you have in mind for this situation? Personally, I would just let the highest-placed licensed team have a pop at the playoffs.
  17. this looks like very selective quoting. can we have the full passage it was lifted from so we can judge it in context for ourselves please lol?
  18. I want Talbot to go up asap although my enthusiasm is severely tempered by the colt teams (surely they'll f**k off eventually?). Equally, I wouldn't allow the loss of a play off to diminish the achievement of winning the title. I have no idea what the wider mood at Talbot is but those are my thoughts. It's also possible to co-exist on the same tier and division as clubs with different priorities, and if one team is less interested in promotion than another then that should really be their own business. The solution to the promotion bottleneck in the WOS is to allow the licenced team who finishes highest to compete in the playoffs. I don't really see why promotion should be reserved for champions at this level but a team that finishes fifth in The Championship can go up via the same route. It doesn't speak of a consistent and integrated pyramid.
