  1. Argh! I feel comparatively fortunate only being £100 down right now.
  2. Just got ticketed up for the Bradford end for the play off final next week. Some eye watering prices to witness participants of such dubious quality- teams that are by definition also rans. Plus the "Wembley Fee" FFS. Better be good!
  3. also, is it normally easy enough getting tickets to the league 1 play off final?
  4. Cheers troops will bear these comments in mind. Hadn't really considered Fulham but that sounds decent.
  5. Cheers, that's much better than I expected. Will be avoiding prem games like the plague anyway.
  6. Booked some cheap train tickets to London there and want to see a game but think I'll be cutting it fine for catching the train back up the road. Which (preferably non Premier League) clubs could you definately get to Euston Station by 18:15 on a Saturday from (about 1.5 hrs). In a normal place I wouldn't even ask but I know London can be a cahnt to get from a to b in . (My preference of venue is Millwall).
  7. Great and beautiful city to visit, however watch yourself down some of the side streets at night as there's a real chance of wee gangs trying to rob you. If your digs are off the beaten track think about getting a taxi back especially if you're steaming. You'll also get quickly bored with the amount of people trying to sell you drugs. And watch your feet for all the dug shite on the pavements. Football wise I went to Benfica on my visit - it's very easy to reach on the underground. Impressive stadium and they have that eagle that flys about.
  8. I'll have a look for it. I'm interested in the local history stuff as well as the football side of things. Well done on foregoing profit on the book for the charity. Very decent of you.
  9. Interesting post. what's your book called?
  10. That's the way I'd approach it too. Probably the sort of trip where half the travelling support never make it to the ground for the game and a fair few miss the last boat back too!
  11. That would be a quality away day in Dunoon.
  12. Wigan v QPR. It's early in the season but I don't expect to see a worse match than that shitfest between now and the trophies being handed out in May. Great match day experience as always at English grounds but the standard of the lower league football is far below what they'd have you believe. five rapid to the jaw of the Scots that bum this shit up at the expense of the Scottish game should be mandatory.
  13. Ah big Nadir. He actually looked a player at one time. Cheers we'll probably have a few up at the ground if there's a bar there.
  14. Been off this thread for ages - doon to Wigan v QPR in the overrated-to-f**k Championship tomorrow though. Anywhere recommended for a beer, etc in the vicinity?
  15. It was a decent venue I always thought. Wasn't really a fan of the big empty bits behind the goals but all things considered it was a good, interesting ground. The clubhouse was quite distinctive. Surprised someone hasn't taken the goalposts for their back garden yet. There must be a few items lying about that would make good souvenirs.
  16. That picture of Adamslie is thoroughly depressing. It must bring up all sorts of emotions for KRR fans.
  17. The interviews are always a nice touch. Cheers for posting.
  18. cheers mate, hopefully there's a fixture when I'm over.
  19. cheers, I'd probably just bite the bullet and pay extra if necessary seeing as it's a one-off. I'm unlikely to feel too ripped off- having a lifetime of attending Scottish football behind me, I'm conditioned to hand over generous sums of money in exchange for shite.
  20. Is it easy enough getting tickets for games in Holland? I'm over in Amsterdam in October and wouldn't mind taking a game in.
  21. turned out to be a great game. 5-2 Hartlepool and two teams who tried to play a bit of passing football. great away support from the monkey molesters or whatever they call themselves, probably the best 90 minute support I've seen all season. Suppose it helps to go two up in eight minutes. feel a bit sorry for Morecambe because they look like a side trying to play the right way but really don't have the tools.
  22. The big one today: Morecambe v Hartlepool. win or lose, the result is sure to matter not a solitary f**k! thought it might be a bit of a relegation decider when I bought the tickets but it now looks like the epitome of end of season meaninglessness with both sides all but safe. still, it's a wee jaunt to the sea side.
  23. Going to Morecambe v Hartlepool in April. Shaping up as a good, meaty relegation scrap as long as neither his a purple patch and fucks it up for me.
  24. doesn't look that busy. Much of a turn out?
  25. Preston v QPR today - if that was indicative of the standard of Championship football then the marketing men earn every penny by polishing this turd to a high sheen. plenty of players willing to boot lumps out of each other which is fine but it's also something that costs six quid to see in the Juniors. This was a surprisingly unrefined game for a supposedly good division. nice set up at Deepdale though and a decent enough crowd of about 12k. As always the English match day experience is much more relaxed and enjoyable than Scotland. It's still weird to see folk walking around the concourse with a beer while families drink soup from flasks they'd never be allowed into an SPL ground. Out in the stands the fans, players and staff all interact freely, with stewards more or less acting like ushers rather than banana republic police. the English game might be hyped up to f**k in order to lure fans in, but they obviously feel happy to keep going along because they aren't treated like cuunts every week. Why we're not copying everything we can from them I've no idea.
