  1. On this week's episode, the boys look back on a set of ne'erday derbies that ranged from the passionate to the plastic. It's a case of new year, new position for the goalkeepers of the top flight, who appear to have made a collective new year's resolution to turn themselves into holograms. There's postponements, abandonments and a whole lot of Charlie Adam. And, in Auchinleck Who?, we profile a club which forms one half of the (as yet uncontested) Antonine Wall derby. All this and more in this week's edition of The Auchterarder Chippy! https://m.soundcloud.com/theauchtchip/the-infamous-arbroath-inverness-derby
  2. On this week's episode of The Auchterarder Chippy (a new Scottish football podcast in association with Pie & Bovril), we profile Hawick Royal Albert United. It's part of our regular feature, Auchinleck Who?, in which we take a look at the teams jostling for places in the Scottish football pyramid. Come for the references to 121-gun three-decker Royal Navy ships, stay for John's horrendous pronunciation of the word "Hawick"!
  3. On this week's show, John steps in for Roddy as a house move encourages a winter break for the host. Linlithgow Rose stun Brechin City in the Scottish Cup. Livingston make it 6 wins from 6 games as David Martindale is mistaken for Pep Guardiola in West Lothian. George Galloway takes a Tier 4 Trip to Palmerston. And finaly, this week on Auchinleck Who? , John takes a look at an East of Scotland League side who are named after an 121 gun three-decker ship of the Royal Navy, and spend over £1800 a season on tea and coffee. All this and more in this week's edition of The Auchterarder Chippy!
  4. Am I havering or did Andy Goram play for the Kilbirnie Ladeside? We discussed all things Blasties on this week’s episode of the Auchterarder Chippy (pasted below) and I’m sure I remember signing him for Stranraer from KL in an old Championship Manager, but I couldn’t find any evidence of him playing there!
  5. In this week's episode, the boys look back on a League Two match day so good that it almost cured John's hangover. As well as more proof that teams that end in ‘Ton' shouldn't bother with permanent managers. There's a rant against the ever present Atlantic League as The Old Firm once again consider jumping ship from the SPFL, just as it looks like getting an automatic Champions League place. In our feature, 'Auchinleck Who?' We profile a club who are rubbish at Latin, ropey at Scots and questionable at signing Andy Goram.
  6. Hi all. In the last couple of episodes of The Auchterarder Chippy (a new Scottish football podcast in association with Pie & Bovril) we’ve been discussing the goal scoring exploits of Blair and Liam Henderson. Anyone know if they’re actually related? We’re calling them the Henderson Twins either way...
  7. Thanks, glad you’re enjoying it! Will definitely add Dundonald Bluebell to the list - that’s a great shout!
  8. Thanks for the info Gallowhill - the Perthshire reference came direct from the history section of the club website! I did think it seemed quite random... https://www.robroy.org.uk/gct/ct/40 Was really good to learn a wee bit about the club, and I’m officially gutted to have missed my chance to see a game at Adamslie Park!
  9. Alright folks, in this week's episode of The Auchterarder Chippy we launched a new regular feature called "Auchinleck Who?". The aim of the feature is to profile some of the new additions to the pyramid (including WOSFL clubs) and get our listeners familiar with some potential future SPFL clubs they might not know much about. On this week's episode, we profiled Kirkintilloch Rob Roy - have a listen to the episode below if you want to learn a bit more about the Rabs!

  11. In this week's episode, the boys look back on shared spoils in Fife and shared lifts to training in Paisley. The ‘Well find that without Covid on their teamsheet the 3-0s don't look so great, and the Henderson Twins continue to light up League 2 (despite potentially being unrelated). And, in our new feature, Auchinleck Who?, we delve into the pyramid to profile the only football team in East Dumbartonshire to be named after a Perthshire curling club that went out of business in the 1800s. All this and more in this week's edition of The Auchterarder Chippy!
  12. On this week's episode, the boys talk Puskas, Maradona and Thomas Robert. There are goals galore in League 2, and shoogly pegs aplenty after a big weekend in the Betfred Cup. In the Scots Abroad, we look back on the career of a jetsetting Coatbridgian who nearly bankrupted a Danish football club, whilst simultaneously bankrolling the Danish nightclub industry. All this and more in this week's edition of The Auchterarder Chippy!
  13. Join Roddy, John and Chris as they check in on the Crawford revolution on the weekend the Pars beat the Tarts at East End Park. We hear about the return of fans to the Highlands, and the departure of home form from the erstwhile fortress Tony Mac. There's a teaser from John, and in the Scots Abroad we look at a prolific frontman who point blank refuses to score goals anywhere south of Thurso. All this and more in this week's edition of The Auchterarder Chippy!
  14. Didn’t see the game live today (decided I can’t shell out for every away game)! Did we play well, and did the trialists get a game? Will catch the highlights as soon as I can. Great to get another win on the board, climbing the league now!
  15. Got to be the slightly posh non-Chinese one (although I can’t speak for Terry Butcher or his ICT squad, who are the source of the anecdote which inspired the name).
  16. Thanks for the feedback, glad you’ve enjoyed it so far. We’ll have an episode out once a week (Tuesday morning), and as you say we’ll usually have a greater focus on the leagues but we were all in full Davie Marshall mode this week!
  17. Hi all, I just wanted to draw your attention to The Auchterarder Chippy, a new Scottish football podcast brought to you in association with Pie & Bovril. The Chippy will be lower-league and non-OF centric, and will focus on the unique quirks and compelling narratives of our beautiful game. We think it's something P&B users will really enjoy. Our first episode was launched yesterday and focused mostly on the recent international matches. We have our own sub-forum on here (at bottom of the SPFL sub) where you can find full details and where we'll post about future episodes. Please listen, subscribe, review and share with friends.
